CHAPTER FOURTEEN

After a good night's sleep, early in the morning, Peter was up for my morning exercise as usual before heading to the bathroom. When he got out, Peter arranged his clothes and placed them in my storage ring.

Peter wore a black shirt and blue pants, with his hair tied up in a man bun. He walked to the living room, where he will be meeting the royal family for breakfast. Peter looked around the palace as he made his way there, admiring its beauty and majesty designs. He was so going to miss this place and he has gotten close to most of the staff here because we are all commoners.

"Good morning Peter, you going to the academy today, make us proud," said the butler in charge of all the affairs of the palace. He was a middle age man, with grey hair and a goatee. He has been working in the palace for close to thirty years and is trusted by the king.

"Don't worry, I will sure make those nobles know the power of us commoners," Peter said with a nod. They got to the living, as usual, Sarah and Queen Elizabeth were sitting together, Tina was sitting on the couch close to them and King Mark was present with us today wearing a black suit with blue patterns on the shoulders.

"Good morning your majesties" Peter greeted with a bow when he entered the room. The queen smiled at him and Sarah just gave him a cheeky grin, Tina on the other was just staring at him with a slight blush on her face. She has been doing that quite often every time we meet or see each other.

"Good morning Peter, I hope you are ready to go to the academy my boy," the king said with a big smile on his. Peter knew he is asking that, because of the spar he and Alex had last night, but he was in top shape after a good night's rest because of my rare physique.

"Wow, Peter when did you advance to the second circle and you are even in the peak beginners stage?" the queen asked she look at him with bright eyes. There's nothing you can hide from the queen, Peter suspected the king has been getting this feeling a lot.

"I advanced last night during the spar with Sir Alex, I was training my coordination with magic and swordsmanship then I got a breakthrough," he said to the queen with a smile. Sarah was surprised to hear that he had advanced to the second circle but got calmer after she remembered that he was a part dragon. Tina stood up in shock because it was the first time she heard of someone advancing to the second circle in just three weeks 'is this benefit of having two affinities' she thought to herself.

They made their way to the dining room for breakfast, after which they went to the hall. Helen was waiting for them there, she was wearing a dark blue robe, it had a symbol of the sun on the left chest side, and it was more like a cloak because it had a hood in the back and ended just behind the knee. It ended at her knees and had a split in front for fast movement. She was wearing a battle robe, like the name it was used for fights and it was what mages wear at the academy, be it students or teachers.

"Good morning your majesties and you too Peter, it's been a while, Tina, how is your mother doing?" Helen stood up and greeted them when we entered the room.

"Good morning aunty Helen, how are you doing, my mother is fine and you haven't come to visit us in a long time," Tina said and hugged Helen. Peter was confused by how close there were.

"Tina's mother is Helen's sister" Sarah answered my question before he even asked it. 'This getting better at reading people, just like her mother' he thought.

"Peter, you got to your second circle, how is that possible" Helen asked in shock and Tina nodded 'I am not the only one that feels this way she thought to herself seeing Helen's expression.

"Just lucky I guess," Peter said with a smile, he knew she was buying that one bit, but cannot force me to say anything.

"Alright let's get going, it will take two hours to reach the academy," the queen said and they made their way outside to the waiting carriages. The trip to the academy was quiet and Peter used the time to relax and meditate.

In about thirty minutes, they entered the forest and Peter could hear the growling of wild beasts and monsters from inside the carriage.  The academy is located in the middle of four mountains, serving as boundaries on each side of the academy.

They approached the gates of the academy and knights in blue armour and fourth circle mages stationed at the entrance, checking people coming into it. They passed through with no problem because the knights and mages knew it was a royal carriage.

After they entered the academy, Peter peaked through the window and saw buildings and training grounds with people training them. It took them about twenty minutes before they got to the main academy itself. When they got out of the carriage, Peter was surprised by the size of the academy. The academy was as big as the capital of the Gales gate kingdom and there were traders and shops selling magic gears and scrolls.

The academy has three huge towers and there placed in a triangular format with enough space between them. Each tower was wide as the entire king's palace and was twenty stories tall.

"Wow, those towers are huge," he said, lifting his head to see the top of the tower but still could not see the top.

"The tower in the middle houses the administrative staff, and teachers and has a huge platform inside because of tournaments that are held in the academy every year" Helen explained as they walked into the tower.  Inside the hall, other students who had just come in were going through their registration.

"Your majesties," everyone stopped what there were doing to greet the royal families. The king waved his hand and they got up to continue what they were doing.

"Sarah and Tina, I will help you with your registration," Helen said as she took the two girls to the counter. Sarah waved at Peter with a smile as they went.

"Peter your case is different, so the director of the academy will handle your registration," the king said and placed his right hand on his shoulders. Peter nodded in response and soon a man looking to be in his late forties walked into the hall and everybody bowed to him as he walked past them.

"Mark my friend, you owe me one because of this, you are looking lovely as always Elizabeth, hope this oaf is treating your well," the man said as he approached them laughing and hugging the king

"Come on Derrick, you are sounding as if you don't want to meet him yourself, Peter this Derrick, he is the director of the academy," the king said as he introduced them to each other.

"Nice to meet you, Peter, this guy has been telling me a lot about you and looking at you now, you are quite something advanced to your second circle and even peak beginners sword stage, in just three weeks, not bad," Derrick said as he patted Peter's back. He was wearing a light purple robe, which means he was a seventh-circle mage.

Derrick was the strongest mage Peter has ever seen since he got to the capital. The title of director fits him well.

"Alright Peter, this is class and training schedules and here is your training suit and weapons. It's different from the others because you are different from them," Derrick said and handed him a black combat suit for training and a pair of black boots.

"You will attend the magic classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Tuesday and Thursday are for sword training, while Saturdays will be for spars and magic practice," the director explained before handing him the list of his classes and their locations.

"Thank you director" Peter greeted him and accepted it. He took Peter to the counter to get his room card before heading to knight tower on the right. The distance between the administrative hall and the knight tower was not that far, it took them ten minutes to get there. On our way there, Peter saw students with different colours of combat wear, maybe like the mages, it differentiate the levels from each other.

They got to the knight tower and Peter went to the counter. There was a middle age man there receiving and processing the new students. When it got to his turn, he approached him.

"Name, knight class and level," he asked, not raising his head to look at him.

"Peter Grey, sword class, peak level beginner" Peter answered him and he raised his head to look at him. He had grey eyes and his hair has turned grey too. When he noticed the king and director behind Peter, he got up to greet them.

"The beginners stay on the second floor, this is your room key," he handed Peter the key to his room and looked at him with puzzled eyes wondering who he was for the king and director to bring him here personally.

"Alright Peter, from here on out you will be on your own. Remember who you are and teach those arrogant kids a lesson they won't forget" the king said with a bright smile as he patted his shoulder.

"Don't worry my king, I won't let you down and I will try my best to protect Sarah," Peter bowed to the king and he nodded before leaving the tower. He made his way to his room, it was not as big as the one he had in the palace. It had a bed in the middle of the, a window to the right side and a reading table.

"I am finally here, hope you have made it too, Jamie," Peter said to himself.
