Behind a short podium next to the elderly Cannon was The Warden of Cooper Prison. He whispered something in the judge's ear, and he said without further ado:

- Guest of the city of Tristad Skif! You are accused of the premeditated murder of Tristad honorary citizen Patrick O'Grady. Do you have anything to say in your defense?
