The fact that he chose to stay quiet gave them more room to continue mocking, cursing and taunting him.

"You useless bastard, I wonder how you managed to survive your debt, you look like you've sold your soul to the devil to get out of there alive." Ian said.

They continued to belittle him and looked at him disdainfully.

Even Patricia didn't have any ounce of love or remorse left for him.
