Recovery

A maid entered the room looking at Alan with a warm smile on her face. She was a young woman in her early twenties. She was Alan's personal maid.

Her name was 'Anna Bell', she had been taking care of Alan while he was in coma. She was with him from when he was young.

Basically, she is a second mother to Alan.

In Carter family all the members have their personal maid/ butler. Their duty was to obey whatever their master orders that's includes 'giving their life to their master as well'.

Alan smiled at anna as he asked "How are you anna?".

Anna sniffed with a teary eye "master how could you worry about me when you are in a condition like that!!"

Anna loved Alan like her own son since Alan always treated her special. More like a mother than a maid.

Alan's memories:

Touring Razer city with his mom, Razer city was the main city of the duchy ruled by the duke.it was beautiful and prosperous under the dukes rule.

But bastards still exist...

"Get over here you bitch!" a man with bald head shouted arrogantly while holding a chain in his hand.

The other end of the chain was anna with her hands chained, her dress torn in most parts and revealing her body. Her face was lifeless and her bones were screaming through her skin. Her body covered with injuries which were made by a whip.

The man pulled anna as she fell on her knees and her path full of blood. He dragged her while she was on the ground. While the people kept watching this horrible act.

"Stop right there!!" a women's voice echoed through the city.

It was Catherine

"Who dares to sto-"the man crumbled in fear as he saw the women on side.

"How dare you treat a woman like a slave in my duchy?" Catherine voice filled the entire city with unknown pressure. Their hearts filled with fear. No one dared to look at Catherine.

"Duchess is here !!" the people standing around mumbled

"Duchess... I am a merchant bought this woman as a slave from the neighboring Kingdom, my wife can't carry a child. So, I bought this slave to give birth to my child" the man muttered in fear and his body visibly shaking.

"So are women just objects who live like machines only to give birth" Catherine said in a disdainful tone.

Catherine so furious she couldn't handle herself.

Catherine raised her hands

Shadow guards of the 'Clan Zeus' appeared out of nowhere, and stood surrounding that man.

"Please forgive my sinful act, pl-eeasee I have a wife waiting for me at home. I promise I would never treat anyone like this in my life" the man begged while crying on his knees.

"This man always harassed me Duchess don't spare him" a woman from the crowd shouted

"This man's wife passed away because of his abuse since then he goes around harassing women in this city" Other women from the crowd.

Kill him kill him the crowd chanted!

For a moment Catherine herself thought of sparing his life, since he had a wife but now…

"No one can save you today" Catherine said in rage.

Slash

The man's head removed from his body and his body covered in a pool of blood.

"Listen everyone, if anyone dares to harass any women in my city" Catherine continued after giving a glance at the crowd "You are dead meat!!"

Alan who was seeing all this ran to the women chained, and knelt down in front of her.

Drip Drip

Alan asked in a worried tone "is it very painful?"

Anna whose face was lifeless started to tear up.

It was her first time someone was worried about her, she kept crying she couldn't answer.

"Sir, please release her" Alan asked one of the guards.

"Do you have anywhere to go" Catherine asked the women in a pitiful voice.

Hearing the duchess voice, anna shook her head and answered "N-No" which can be barely heard.

Alan Wiped annas tears off her face and cupped her face with his small hands and asked

"Can you come with me if you have no-where to go?"

Anna kept silent.

Alan turned to Catherine for permission, Catherine nodded.

"Mom is fine with bringing you home with us" Alan asked as he kept holding anna face "can you come with me now?"

How can she refuse now?

This was the first time she felt safe, the first time she felt warmth of being protected.

She was beaten and harassed since she was an orphan.

Anna nodded and said "yes my master"

Catherine who was watching how her son's actions couldn't help but sigh as she thought

'Like father like son, now I am starting to miss my husband so much'

From that day on anna was with Alan

"Master I missed you so much, I am happy you are back now" anna said in a relieved tone.

"I missed you too anna" Alan let out in a worried tone "and how many times do I have to tell you not to call me master. U never listen"

"Master let me help you take a bath"

"ok "

Alan took his bath with the help of anna

He then had his breakfast asked anna to help him walk to the garden.

In the garden while Alan was getting ready:

"Our son is finally back to us" Catherine said looking at William with a relieved face

"Yes, he is back, but his body is still weak he needs to recover before the big event" William said while taking a sip of tea and continued "I will make him healthy"

"I will not allow any harm to fall upon our son again, no one will even lay a finger on him" William said in a serious and confident tone.

Seeing her husband like this Catherine was worried.

"Don't blame yourself for what happened to Alan, he is back to us healthy right" Catherine said with a worried face

"Yes, I will not allow any noble to mock our son... I will kill any- "Before William could Finish, he was interrupted by Alan's voice

"Mom dad, what are you talking so seriously with me?" Alan asked with a curious look on his face.

"Oh, it's nothing son, we were just worried about your recovery" Catherine tried to divert the topic.

"Don't worry u both I will recover soon, see I can walk slowly now" Alan continued "soon I will be running in front of you" Alan took a seat while saying this to his parents and anna helping him sit.

William then looked at Catherine "an important guest is coming tomorrow"

"Who is it?" Catherine was curious

"u will know tomorrow" William said in a tone which spiked both Alan's and Catherine's curiosity
