Chapter 91: The One That Got Away

John Dave passed through me and didn't say a word about what happened between me and Sebastian. Jennie must not know about it. But he looked me in the eye as soon as he settled in his desk. It was the kind of stare that told me he was bothered and irritated toward me for doing nothing earlier.

"Do you think I can make it before class? I mean, I must not skip class today because we have exams." I replied before grabbing my backpack and tailed her to the nearest elevator.

"Don't worry, I have seen the program already, Mr. Fisher." Jennie attempted to grab my backpack but I refused. "Right after the ribbon cutting, you're free to go."

"That's good to hear, Ms. Pineda." I humbly said back. "Thank you for all the things you have done for me since I got back to my family."

"Don't mention it. I was simply doing my job. Needless to say, you have done more for me, and I haven't thanked you for that. Thank you." Jennie extended her response with a humble smile.
