Drive Hunt: Part Four

"WHAT!!!"

Many murmurings have been heard.

"I am sorry, Mr. President, but their leader had the same appearance as me. The patterns of his fingerprints and iris were the same as mine too. There was no chance to realize for my soldiers that it was a fake."

"How is it possible?"

"I don't know, but one of the high rankers gave a silent alarm when they got into the base. He suspected them, I assume. I started those operations when we got the signal. We were ten minutes late. The leaders and some of them escaped but we arrested some of them alive as I said before. We will learn everything."

"I did not like the results, Chief of Staff. There will be a cost to your failure. You should know this!"

"No need, The President."

"What does it mean, Chief of Staff? You are disrespectful!" The Chief of Secret Service intervened in the discussion.

"I am sorry for my rudeness. But there was another assassination attempt while we were coming here."

"What? To who?" The President asked.

"They attacked us, Mr. President. They failed. They tried in public. There were no civilian casualties either."

"Your security sucks, Chief of Staff!"

"I can not accept your accusation, Chief of Secret Service"

"And what were you doing while our army is fighting against these people, Chief of Secret Service?" The President asked.

The Chief of Staff intervened again. "I am sorry Mr. President, but my briefings did not finish."

"Go on"

"I started a new operation."

"For what?"

"These people sent a full copy of mine. We can describe that creature as a clone. We shouldn't let this go. Anyone in this room can be a clone too. Or in the governments of other countries."

"This is too hard to believe, Chief of Staff. You need proof. And you should confirm yourself too. You told me that a copy of yours was the mastermind of this assassination. It means you are a suspect too. And the threat of your existence here is more than everyone else in this room."

"You are right, Mr. President, but I can not hide the facts from you to protect myself. I only want one week. We have leads. My units are after it now. I will present everything to you then."

"Too long. The threat is very big. And the meeting of the United Nations is three days later. You will bring me everything until then!"

"Understood, Mr. President!"

"What about the third party which appeared at the end of the assassination and tried to save Danesh guy?"

"We are still investigating it. I will inform you about them too. Sir, I want to ask you something."

"Go on?"

"The United Nations' Meeting...You should predict what's coming..."

"Yes. They will accuse us of Danesh's actions."

"What will you do?"

"Danesh may be a terrorist. Or not. And there is the Syndicate organization too. We are under attack by an organization too. Things are very complicated now. But one thing is sure. This Danesh guy is not a terrorist for me until they show me the evidence...A real one. That guy called himself a bad man. The real threats are the people who try to hide their evilness."

*** Amina's house ***

"What kind of show was that? The whole world will change, I assume. Poor Danesh guy. I believe his innocence in my heart"

"..." Amina did not answer.

"I know that man was your friend, honey. But you should let it go. He died."

Amina was a married woman and still had feelings for Danesh. It was not a good thing but Amina couldn't resist it. Until last week. "Because of me..." She said.

"What?"

"He died because of me...I am the one who gave Danesh to them."

"Honey, I know that you are sad but..."

"No. I did it. Some people kidnapped me for it last week!"

"WHAT!!!" Her husband shouted.

"Yes, for a few hours...And they released me after that..." Amina started to cry.

"Why didn't you tell me!?"

"..."

" OK, my love. Did they do something bad to you!?"

"No..."

"So they must have threatened you with this. Don't blame yourself."

"No, they didn't. It was my own will." Amina was crying more now. "They abducted me for two hours. They showed me some videos. Danesh was killing people... They told me that they wanted to arrest him but Danesh was too powerful for them. They told me that and wanted help from me. They gave me a bottle and told me it was only for anesthetizing him. They would judge him in a fair court of the government. They told me all these lies... And I put the medicine which was in the bottle into a cup by mixing coffee and gave it to him this morning...And things happened. I don't know what the effect was, but it must have done something bad to him before the events...And they butchered him in public. I helped the perpetrators to do that..."

"Did you tell these to anyone?"

"No..."

"Honey, listen to me. Do not tell anybody about these things. Never!"

"I can not live with this. Danesh was my friend and I gave him to those bloody people..."

"You should bear it, my love...Listen, if anyone learns about your connection with the perpetrators, many people will try to harm you. And those perpetrators...This is not good either. You helped them and they achieved their aim by killing Danesh. But Danesh made a reverse attack with a surprise broadcast. That one harmed their system too much. They were living in the shadows due to Danesh's broadcast, but everybody learned about their existence now. They will destroy all connections linked to them and you will be their first step. They will try to kill you first."

"..."

"Amina...We should leave immediately. Please look into my eyes. We don't have time!"

The bell had rung.

Her husband went and looked at the hole in the door. Seeing that there were soldiers on the other side of the door, he ran back to Amina.

"Honey, we should escape now. Please come with me"

Amina was still depressed, but she moved.

"Please open the door. We are here to help, Mrs. Amina!"

"Do not talk!" her husband warned her silently.

"Mrs. Amina, we know you are the victim of the Syndicate organization too. We don't know the details of your interference in current events, but you should trust us. Your name is on another list too. You should be protected, they will come for you."

Amina and her husband were confused because things had become more complicated for them now. However, Amina still started walking towards the door.

"NO!" Her husband warned her by whispering again, but she did not listen and opened the door...
