The test

Days passed, and according to reports, it was believed that there had been an explosion of power transformers. Half the city was without service for almost a whole day, there was no clue as to what had happened, but Alison's biggest concern was the day of the physical test. He felt a lot of movement in the corridors of the dormitory, no one could calm the tension he had.

Luan couldn't believe that his partner was a person with a system, and he hadn't told her. If Alison had talked to him, some things would have been avoided. The two had grown apart after what happened. Since the black-haired boy, he had to try to avoid hurting someone with the flaws in his system.

They were all gathered in the square. There in different buses they left the city heading to the capital of the state where the tests would take place.

They spent almost two hours on the road and arrived at Constert. Which was the much larger Glosbar. There were more huge buildings, almost 15 stories each, and they slowly approached the site where we would be testing.

They stopped at a strange place. It was mind-blowing, it was almost the size of the school and about thirty stories, thousands of windows maybe were there. The dark blue color made it more exciting to be there.

The teacher of class two spoke to bring them back to reality and say goodbye, he was already in front of a door where he could escort them.

-Well, I'll see you guys out, all the best.

They entered a room and saw hundreds of students from different schools.

A tall, eccentric looking man addressed them.

-North Waltz School?

-Yes," answered Alejandra, who, being from class one, took the floor.

-Well, the government has left them this test, like video games to make it faster and not take months, there are several points of qualification, currently there are 400 schools and,d 10016 students in this place," answered the man.

He took out a notebook and continued speaking.

-But first, you will all be opponents, if you wish to work in a group that will take away points. Second, you will have devices on your chest, they are used to quit and to measure your activity in the test, when you deactivate them, no one should attack you. Third, there will be homunculi and robots that will attack you, you will earn points if you manage to defeat them, at the moment you surrender, a person in charge will come out of one of the doors and will immediately bring you back to the main room, a quick check will be done to evaluate your condition. Depending on the order in which they leave the room, they will be given a score. Aahh, some homunculi will talk and try to scare you. Fourth, there are four floors, and you will have to climb them all and the test will end.

-What if someone gets badly hurt," asked Saul.

-With the apparatus they have, their state of health will be measured, and it will immediately change, and it will give a warning and medical personnel will enter, although they were designed not to do much damage, only to immobilize them and push them to the limit. Being such a large labyrinth, no one will see it. There are thousands of cameras that will focus on all of you, don't worry. I was forgetting, you are all opponents, you also receive points for defeating your teammates, if you kill someone you will face the law, and they made a decision regarding you. Fifth, the objective is to reach the fourth floor, we are on the neutral floor, as you can see this is similar to the video games, but you can die if you are careless. If you are afraid there is the door, you can go and leave. Anyway, when you get there you will have to fight against whoever you meet, if there is anyone there, well most likely no one will get there, as long as there are no casualties for a long time, or we see something significant we will tell you the number of students who are still in the test.

-Wait.... we've been in school for at most 2 months, and we already have to fight it?... Are you kidding me? - commented a boy from another Rivale.

-Young people, the school taught you the basics, you had to practice, no matter your level, you all have the same chance to pass this test, if you know how to handle it. That said, good luck to all of you, you will need it.

All the freshmen of North Waltz gathered together and entered through a small large door, and then encountered hundreds of doors, each one choosing his course from one of the many paths.

[...]

Five minutes later the test began.

Luan was in a remote and lonely place.

The labyrinth was made of bushes and had multiple paths, there was no one nearby.

The boy looked for the stairs to the second floor.

Suddenly, in the middle of the bushes, a human-shaped homunculus with a sword appeared and immediately attacked him.

He managed to dodge it, and his heart began to pound with fear, for being eliminated a few minutes after starting.

His system at once sent him a notification.

<

>.

The homunculus gave him no respite, chased him and attacked him without stopping. The boy defended himself with a sword he had, but it disarmed him and with nothing else to do, he had to run again. Until he was trapped in a place where there was no way out.

-Surrender, you are unprotected," said the homunculus, but Luan tried to face him without weapons. If I really hurt you, you will have to go through the shame of being carried out on a stretcher at the beginning of the test," said the homunculus.

- I won't do it! -cried Luan.

-What a pity," replied the homunculus.

In an instant, a sword almost pierced it, from one moment to the next.

A student passing by saw the scene and finished the homunculus off.

Both boys looked at each other, he was not going to save him. And he tried to eliminate him from the test.

-You're the stupid guy who was on the news because he almost drowned in the river, right? Relax, this will only hurt for a moment, the doctors will come for you.

Those simple words really bothered Luan, someone he didn't know without knowing anything was making fun of his bad luck. A little annoyed, he drew strength where he had none.

He reacted, avoiding being seriously hurt, and jumped to grab the homunculus' sword.

-You are not as useless as I thought, although they are no longer in good condition, those wounds limit a lot when it comes to fighting.

Both clashed their swords, trying to disarm the other, but neither would yield.

Luan, wanting to finish this now and get to the next floor, used the power manipulation on the sword.

At the moment they both clashed again. Until his opponent's broke, as he did not have the necessary strength.

Deactivate your device, he said to his opponent.

-You know I won't do it, you'll have to knock me out.

Luan did the combination of quick moves that Snaider taught him. Leaving clueless that he could not see the blow in the face that the white-haired boy gave him and ended up not left on the floor. Luan sat down to rest for a while, he knew that things could be more difficult to be injured in this way, he felt no pain, but his body would begin to fail him at a certain point.

He got up from the floor and walked for several minutes. Until he found a ladder and climbed up. He came across another labyrinth, but made of concrete and quite lonely, like the previous one.

He could see the homunculi lying lifeless on the floor and noticed that the walls had doors, small ones.

He opened them and saw that they led to another place, he tried to think whether to enter or not, so he ended up doing so, but unfortunately this led him to witness a fight between two students and several homunculi, much larger than the one he had fought.

It was a lost battle for both boys, Luan realized it was a trap and wanted to go back, but it was too late.

They had already seen him and would pursue him.

With wounded hands, he fought against a homunculus. Their weapons sparked as they clashed.

Luan did the same again as with his previous opponent, but this one moved away when he understood the boy's plan.

- You think we're the same as those weaklings down there? You can't beat us.

The white-haired boy felt scared, he didn't even beat the one in front of him and was able to climb up here because of someone else's interference.

He squeezed his sword using energy manipulation and broke his opponent's sword, so that the homunculus was also injured.

He tried to attack him, but Luan finished him off, he had defeated one, but his outlook would not be encouraging, the two students who were fighting gave up when they were surrounded by so many homunculi.

And now he would be alone against four homunculi, and they began to surround him. He tried to think of everything he had learned with Alison and Snaider in these two months of school.

Two of them went to fight him at the same time, and while they were fighting they tried to destroy him emotionally by saying all kinds of things to him.

-You're useless.

-You cripple.

He managed to intercept their every move to avoid being hurt. However, his arms were weaker than theirs. On top of that, they put more pressure on his injured muscles, taking away his strength.

At that moment, another homunculus intervened to finish him off.

-It will only hurt for a moment, you will wake up in the infirmary.

Luan, faced with so much difficulty, took a sword that one of them had in a matter of seconds and finished him off, however, he neglected one of the sides and received a cut in the chest.

The four homunculi looked at each other, and when they were about to attack him all at once, a boy appeared and shouted.

-I thought it was a test of power, not a test of endurance.

They all looked at him and rushed at him, as they saw him as a threat.

With two swords he stopped the four of them, but he got into trouble because of the strength they had, they were greater than that of a student.

He felt the outrage that his companion had. And that he had thought he could stop. He moved away a little and reached Luan's side, since he saw that it was a fight he could not win.

-Hey you, let's fight each one with two, if you can, if you can't, press the button and go.

-Ok," answered

Luan approached the two closest homunculi.

-Wow..., they know that working in a group will take away points, and they still do it," said the homunculus.

-It's better than losing to something like you.

The homunculi decided to attack both of them at the same time in order to end this quickly.

They went after Luan, but out of nowhere, in those seconds, he decided to put into practice what he learned with Snaider, with the same moves he did with him, he quickly finished with two of them, splitting them in half.

Both the boy who was in front of the homunculi and the homunculi were terrified, he didn't give them time to attack, but in a matter of minutes he finished them off and left the place.

-Finish yours, I'll leave them there," said Luan.

The student smiled at Luan's speed and listened to what he said.

-I'll see you up there, and just in case, I'm Andres," he said while concentrating on his opponents.

[...]

Luan walked for almost half an hour looking for the next staircase, he sat down minutes later his wound began to affect him.

His system sent him several warnings, which the white-haired boy could not see, since in that place there were many cameras that could catch any strange movement.

As he logged in, hearing the notifications from his system. Liz saw him and called him.

-Luan.

He looked back, it was a familiar face, Liz ran to him and hugged him.

He blushed a little, since she had never hugged him before.

-I was looking for you," the girl said.

- How did you find me, there are so many people here?

She approached him, covered her mouth so the cameras couldn't read her lips and said in his ear.

-I'm a hacker. I investigate everything, and I know where every door leads to.

The boy, trying to process the information, thought for a moment that Liz had a system too and tried to calm down, but they gave the first bulletin.

Total students standing, 4500.

- How did they manage to eliminate so many? -Luan asked.

-The test was designed to eliminate the majority. The first two floors were to eliminate the weakest physically and mentally.

-Anyway, we can't make teams, we'll get points deducted," he said.

-It doesn't matter, I've beaten almost 15," she said a little happily.

-So many, I only beat 2 and one student.

-Don't worry, you just have to move up a floor and that's it.

- What do you mean?

-Never mind, let's go, I know where the stairs are," said the girl taking him by the hand.

They both ran together and reached the staircase, Luan was a little confused by the behavior of his classmate, she was treating him in a nicer way. He felt that maybe it was because of Alison's system that changed the behavior of some girls.

[...]

When they went up to the third floor, they found a lonely and terrifying panorama, it looked like a labyrinth with poor lamps that gave lousy lighting, the walls were made of wood, the cameras were more noticeable than on the previous floors. As they walked around, they found bodies of mangled robberies, which still had electricity.

They could not see the shape of these as they were in pieces. They continued on their way, but were on their guard to fight.

There were five corridors to take, Liz, chose the first one, and they noticed that the energy gradually diminished in this one.

When they reached a certain point, they felt the presence of someone, and this one attacked them from behind, taking advantage of the low light.

Luan held him back with a sword he had, the person who attacked them was covered in blood.

Liz wanted to fight, but Luan wanted to try it.

-Let me, I'll do it," said the boy.

And both began to clash their swords, measuring each other to gain an advantage in their position.

And in the middle of the fight a small lamp went out, the guy took advantage of this and buried the sword in his shoulder, which almost cut his Orta vein.

Liz, reacted to this, and from behind gave him a blow, knocking him out. And deactivating his device. This incident annoyed the girl, who did not remain silent about the situation.

-I know you want to show everything you learned, and you think you can do it because you just trained with Alison and Snaider, but each of us here wants to go as far as possible, so they are not going to give you anything, it's not just stats and energy level. You have to think about what you're going to do and take advantage of the environment you're in, little things like what was happening now almost wiped you out.

-I'm sorry.

-Don't worry about explaining that to me, let's go on, maybe with that injury you won't make it to floor four one, but you're over the average, that's good, let's go.
