The Beast's hand sweeps, causing some of the ground's floor to erupt in pebbles as it hits Xaviel. Some of his bones cracked while his body was sent flying more than 5 meters away from The Beast.
"Arghh…"
Xaviel's left rib bone was caught in The Beast's blow. It cracked and caused him much pain to stay focused on the fight.Xaviel then crashed onto the ground, landing on his right arm, slightly injuring it.
BA-DUMP!!
BA-DUMP!!!(What's this?)
Xaviel rose from his prone position to sit down with one leg holding the weight.
(What is this heartbeat?)
He reached for his chest and caressed it.
(Am I…Afraid?)
At that time, Xaviel questioned himself: Was there something that scared him to fight Krey? Was it because of the sudden attack by The Beast? A situation that nearly killed him finally made him afraid.
(No… I am not afraid in the slightest…)
Xaviel grabs the pebble on the ground created due to the Beast's sweep.
(If there's no fucking brain, I'll destroy its lungs!!)
“GRAAA!!!” Xaviel screamed as he threw a barrage of rocks parabolically. As the projectile gets near The Beast, it quickly sweeps away the rocks using its right hand, redirecting some of them to the ceilings.
"You really ought to try better. ALTER BRIDGE!!!"
As the pebbles flew to the unknown pitch black roof, a large blue panel appeared in front of all the pebbles that were redirected. The pebbles slowly change to a metallic color as it enters and flies away to the pitch-black roof. 5 seconds later, a loud rumble was heard.
GRUMBLE~~
GRUMBLE~~~Krey retreats from the weird pose he always does. Then, he moves slower, forming the same weird pose again while chanting, "ALTER BRIDGE!!". A giant panel appeared 4 meters above Xaviel's head as he screamed.
"What the?"
"Behold!! Alter Bridge: Cry Of Achillies!!"
A large number of pebbles suddenly appeared 2 meters above the blue panel. The quantity was so many it was like raining with pebbles. As it entered the panel, all of it changed to metallic color. But, Xaviel noticed something else.
BOOOM!!!
One of the metallic pebbles suddenly explodes as it reaches some distance. Then the pebbles, one after the other, started exploding. Because of the barrage of the randomized explosion, some of it eventually hits Xaviel.Instinctively Xaviel covered his face using both of his arms. This led his right arm to be grazed by debris and shockwave created by the exploding pebbles. Though it's only scratched, it still felt excruciating to endure. If not for his adrenaline, maybe Xaviel would already be weeping in pain. He then proceeds to evade the remaining explosions swiftly.
"I gotta handed to you… You are really a tough opponent. Not that I have fought anyone besides you, though," Krey said while gleefully smiling still in his weird pose.
"Ha..ha… You surely tougher than those Giant Rats," Xaviel responded while grinning, holding the pain.
Still in his stance, Krey rubs his chin using his left arm. He looked to Xaviel and said, "I do want to ask. Before, you already pinned me down. Why didn't you strike me down at that moment?"
“…” Xaviel remains silent.
"I surely believe you are not dumb. So it doesn't make sense to me,"
Xaviel's nose suddenly felt runny. As he rubs it, however, blood drips onto his finger.
(A Nosebleed? It didn't even hit my face!!) Xaviel thought as he felt a slight drift away from consciousness.
"ANSWER ME, IMPOSTOR! Why did you not strike me down at that moment!?"
Krey's sudden change of tone snaps Xaviel back to reality. He looked into Krey's eyes and said, "Because, even from the beginning, I never wish to fight you,"
"What? What kind of joke is that?"
"It's not. I didn't attack you first, did I? You attacked me…right?"
"Yeah, but you were the one who killed my friends!! I had every right to attack you!"
"I did kill your friends but did you really think I would attack animals that didn't bother me?"
"What are you saying?"
"You have already acknowledged that I am smart. Now, think to yourself, why would I do such a thing? Why would I do something that has no merit?"
"Quit playing with my mind. Only you know the answer to that. And My friends are harmless. They would never cause harm to anyone!"
"How can you be sure? You say they never attack you, and maybe that is correct. But listen…No matter how you look at them or how much they developed, they're still animals. Even if they are your friends. Occasionally they still relied on their own instincts. To which would react in violence in the presence of an unknown subject or threat."
"SHUT UP! You are a lying bastard!! Be shameful of yourself! I'll end this here and now," Krey said as he switched stance back into his weird pose.
A blue panel appears 20 centimetres in front of Xaviel.
“DIEEE!!!!!!!!”
FWOSSH!!!
As the panel goes in an extreme speed,CRACKNG!!!
The panel cracks and splits into pieces. The remains of the panel then disappeared into thin air."UAAGHH!!!" Krey screams in agony. He cancelled out his stance, proceeding to caress his right hip.
As Xaviel looked closer, an arrow pierced right through his right hip. "Aaagrhh… Aurghhh….Ngggghhh…Efff hah…." He moans in pain as he moves slowly to enter his weird pose stance again.
"A..l…Ter… Bridge…"
A blue panel appears above his head, slowly sliding through him. It disappears along with the arrow that previously pierced his hip as it reaches the ground.
"I see… a power to make something appear and disappear, huh?" said a familiar voice.
(That Voice…)
Xaviel quickly tries to find out where the voice is coming from. The darkness of the room, however, doesn't quite let him.
"BASTARD!! WHERE ARE YOU!!!" Krey shouts, infuriated by the person who shot that arrow.
"You won't see me soon enough, though"
With that said, a sphere had suddenly appeared in front of Krey. That same sphere is now glowing, mimicking an explosion. In a moment of panic, Krey creates a panel yet again as a shield from the attack.
BOOM!!
The sound of an explosion filled the room yet again. However, this time, black smoke appears alongside it, filling the room with extreme levels of darkness."Nice to see you, Viel," The voice suddenly appears behind Xaviel.
"Huft, so glad to hear your voice again…." Xaviel responded.
"Give me your arm."
Xaviel complied with the figure, and they helped him move to a safer distance. They made it thus far because the smoke made Krey utterly blind to a nearby object. As such, he hadn't made any move yet.
As the figure took Xaviel to retreat, they say, "I brought this. This is yours, right?" The figure handed him a satchel.
"My satchel! So it was left behind after all this time!"
(I have realized before, actually, but I didn't really have time to pay detailed attention to everything since the moment I got bitten by that first rat) Thought Xaviel.
"I also brought this and this," The figure handed him a set of medical tape, a patch with a green substance, and a knife that resembles the one Hoff used.
"Thank you…"
Xaviel quickly applies the medical tape and patch to his external injuries, left shoulder and right arm. He then grabs one of the tree sap vials and drinks it, making sure the venom of the rat completely disappears.
The smoke, after 40 seconds, began to clear as The Beast had swept left and right creating shockwaves to remove the smoke. After it clears, Krey and The Beasts have finally found what they are looking for.
Two figures emerge from the smoke. A male figure in his stance with a knife raised with his right arm creating a ( / ) shape, and a female figure who carries a crossbow whilst her eyes glow in gold.
"Remember what we talked about!" The woman said.
"Yes. Let's do this…. Serena!!!"
Serena and Xaviel then proceed to charge right into Krey. However, as they got closer to him, he shouted, "FOOLISH!!! ALTER BRIDGE!!" Creating a blue panel right in front of him moves swiftly into him.
"ALTER BRIDGE: METALLINGUS!!!"
"Serena, I can't fight him alone. His backup, that big animal over there, is really a nuisance!" "Figures...you did quite well surviving this long. I suppose you're Forte is quite powerful," "In this type of combat, I think it's far too useless if my aim is to win. That's why I need your help," "Sure. But first, tell me your power," That sentence made Xaviel somehow uneasy. He remembered that Hoff said revealing that you have a Forte or even saying how the power works out loud. It would be a dangerous feat. Now, however, Serena was asking that question. Contemplating on trust, Xaviel thinks back to events he had faced. He remembered that day. That fateful day where everything changed. The day he tempers with the Odin's Crow. He questioned himself. Why did he deploy them by himself? Why didn't he call one of the stage members to tell them? Or maybe record the warning message as proof. Yet the only thing he did was pursue his OWN dreams fulfilling his OWN need for self accomplishmen
"There's no escape." "I will die here…Alone…." "Mr.Woodland…" "Your sacrifice was in vain…." "Because…" "The only thing I ever did correctly was being afraid…." Krey mumbles hysterically inside a basement room. Though there was light filling the room. None were filling his heart. His trauma of seeing so many people die made him shiver and feel dark even with the warmth and light of a nearby lit fireplace. He was inside a panic room. It is filled with furniture such as a medium-sized table, a chair pair, a clean bed, and shelves filled with canned foods. It is approximately 5 x 5 meters. So, there was plenty of space for him to move around and not bore himself. Even so, he sat down on the floor near the stairs leading to the place where Mr. Woodland died. "Hero.. why didn't you rescue me?" "Where did you go?" "Am I a burden to you?" He spoke as more tears dropped out from both eyes. "No... Hero isn't like that…." "Even though I am not as smart or powerful as he is. He isn't
“Captain Maru..” Zed calls Marlon. “What is it? Zed?” Marlon turned to face Zed, who was walking behind him. “Do you, perhaps, have a crush on Ms Serena?” “WHAT?” Marlon startled as his face reddened. “Stop saying that kind of nonsense, Zed!” He continues lightly smacking at Zed’s head. “Ouch! I only ever ask this once! What do you mean stop saying!” “Just… don’t say that again,” Marlon replied, touching his neck. “I am kind of worried, though. She’s my childhood friend after all,” he said. “Aren’t you like 30ish?” Zed said. “Well, you aren’t wrong. I will soon be 30,” Marlon closed his eyes while releasing a breath of insecurity. “Doesn’t that…?” “Doesn’t that what?” “Um… So when Ms Serena was 7 years old. You were like…19?” “Yeah…” “How does that a childhood friend? Weren’t you an adult already?” “Um…” *** Xaviel and Serena were trekking through the corridors of The Great Mylenia Labyrinth. On their way, a thought occurred in Xaviel’s head. “Hey, Serena, mind if I ask
“My name is Xaviel Aktina Mobius. I am not from this world," Xaviel said while closing his eyes with his right hand on his chest."I have more than one hundred questions!" Serena raised his right hand, interested in the topic."Calm down now. Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Xaviel held his hand out, attempting to calm Serena's excitement. "Ahem. As I was saying, I barely know how I got here in the first place. It all started when I was…." Xaviel paused.(Wait.. when does it start again? Ah, right, my dream of a black hole and a piece of trumpet music) Thought Xaviel."So I was sleeping one day in my house. Then all of a sudden, I dreamt of being caught in a black hole which is very bizarre. While strange trumpet music played, I was pulled with a powerful gravitational force. I lost consciousness, and when I woke up, I woke up in the forest where I had met Mika." Xaviel explained while gesturing if Serena had any questions."Yeah, I am kinda lost here. What is a black hole? I am fam
“Trust is earned….”“Trust is earned when actions meet words..”“Basically says if you can’t fucking keep your word, you can’t be trusted. But. Faith means you trust without reservations. You know what that means, right? It means you trust something without limitations. So.. if god decided to fuck you over and you decide. Well fuck I am not going to trust god anymore. Now, wouldn’t that make you unfaithful?”A man in his 40s in a black suit sighed. He looked at the other man who had just spoken and said, “What are you trying to say here, Alfie?”.“I am trying to say… That.. you’ve become a bitch,”“Oh yeah? How so?” The black suit man calmly answered as his eyes scrolled through the newspaper he was reading, simultaneously blowing a cloud of smoke from his mouth.“Because you put faith in the King, not in honourable men like us. Who keeps our fucking word. Our promises. THEY.. those.. what you call them?”“Aristocrats”“Yeah, That. Those aristocrats or whatever… cheat, lie, and does e
“Ain’t this boy a smart one?” Mr. Sullivan smiles, looking at Xaviel.“Thank you... I am so-““Let me stop you right there….” Mr. Sullivan holds his finger at Xaviel and suddenly turns his attention to Serena. “Dear, would you kindly go upstairs and help my dearest wife with her laundry?” Mr. Sullivan said.“Eeeeh?? Alright. Hmph,” Serena pouted and went upstairs. As soon as Serena left the living room, Mr. Sullivan looked back to Xaviel and said, “I respect you, mate,”“You.. what?” Xaviel widens his eyes.“Yes, Yes, I respect you! Please take a seat,” Mr. Sullivan swept the chair in front of him, signaling Xaviel to have a seat.Xaviel was a bit skeptical initially, but he decided to go along with him. He sat down in front of Mr. Sullivan with his fist clenched. As his eyes met with Mr. Sullivan, it came. An Aura of intimidation filled Xaviel’s heart.“Quite bold of ye to do that kind of thing to my niece,”Those words were very horrifying to hear. It was probably because of this in
DING DONG~ Serena’s doorbell suddenly rang. “Who could this be at this hour?” Serena asked. Xaviel took the initiative and opened the front door. “You?” “There you are... SCUMBAG!!” Said a green-haired man. “KUOHH!!” Xaviel’s neck was grabbed. He felt a great amount of pressure slowly crushing his throat. He tried to breathe but was suffocating from the choking pressure. Xaviel frantically moved his hand, grabbing the man’s arm and trying to set himself free. Though, this man's strength was inhummane, as if it is the strength of 10 men choking him. “Pathetic!” The man said as he threw Xaviel’s body into the air. When Xaviel became airborne, he performed a maneuver to carefully land unscathed by the ground. As he carefully lands his feet and body on the ground, it helps Xaviel regain his composure and readiness to battle. “What the hell was that for?” “You took Mika away from me! Tell me where she is!!!” Serena, hearing the ruckus, finally went outside of her house. “Y-you…!
[Link with your vessel has been terminated] (What?) (What is this light blue panel?) (Where…) (Where was I?) (Where am I now?) Xaviel spoke to himself. As his eyesight began to restore, he took a look around him. As of now, he was standing on a white surface. It was like a field of grass stretching far though it only had white color. The sky was pitch-black and seemed rather hollow, like a void of nothingness. “Am I in a limbo? Is that what they called this place?” [Apparently, You are not in a limbo] A panel abruptly popped up bearing this message. (Could the panel talk? Since when?) “Who...Who are you..?” Xaviel said as he rose and readied himself. [Good question. Currently, I am unaware of my own identity] The panel popped up again, bearing a different message. (Indeed. This panel could talk. How bizarre.) “All right. What should I refer to you as?” [Good question. Currently, I don’t think I could come up with a good one] “Hrmm… Should I give you a name?” [Excellen
The Fisherman and I follow Jack Nelson as the party ends instead of using a horse carriage or chariot like the other guests. They used a rather peculiar cart that used petrol and ran on wheels. I am familiar with that kind of cart. It's called a 'car' rather than a cart. People in Estovania used it quite a lot, yet they didn't first develop it. Most state-of-the-art stuff originated in Willhelmia or the 'Prince' region."That cart is very fast; how are we supposed to follow it?" I said."WOA-!" Fish shouted a little before I instinctively shut his mouth with my hands. "Shut the hell up, dumbass. We'll get caught!" I whispered as I slightly tightened my grip on his mouth. He reacted by nodding up and down. Only then did I release his mouth from my grasp."But why are you here, Vice-Boss Duke Hebsly?" He blatantly said."Don't say my name so casually. Dammit! And What else do you think I am here for? I am here to help you spy on Jack Nelson!" I replied."But the boss didn't say a thing a
“Excuse me sirs and madam. I am here to serve wine.” A male servant went inside the table where the conspirators of Seraphinania is sitting. He placed the glass one by one, as another servant poured it down.“A perfect time for a drink isn’t it?” Oswald Leysom said enticing everyone to touch their respective glasses.“There might be some rough sides to this plan of ours. Yet, with all the people here, I am pretty sure we can pull it through quite nicely.” Ms. Eye said with confidence before glancing at Mr. Jones. “By the by, is Jones here the one who used to sell opium to the Molosno family?”Mr. Jones looks around as the attention turns towards him. “Yes. As a matter of fact, I am. Yet ever since one year ago, the distributor position for my opium is vacant.”“I see.” Ms. Eye drinks her wine before speaking again, “Then you indeed are Thomas Hebsly.”“Wonderful guess, Madam. How could you ever guess who he was?” Oswald said, making everyone else except Mr. Jones giggle. “I see. Then
I walked with The Fisherman, Duke, and Gilman, who were now dressed as servants. They do look the part, but maybe Fisherman’s scar on his face gave it away that he wasn’t a servant.“Hey, you put this on,” I said giving him a bandage and instructing him to put it on his left cheek.“Will do, Boss-man!” Fisherman said.“Hey, it's hard to say 'Fisherman' all the time! Don’t you have a name we can call you by?” Gilman said.“Hmm, sure I have,” Fisherman smiled. He opened his mouth and said, “People usually call me Fish.”Duke flattened his eye annoyed by Fish’s and Gilman’s banter.“You know what, whatever. Fish is good enough.” Gilman said. “Oh yeah, everyone can call me Gil.”“Guys, I don’t want to break your spirits here. But you shouldn’t use your real name. We’re here to spy on people- You know what? I shouldn’t even be explaining all this to you two! Boss what the hell is wrong with these two!” Duke suddenly got heated up due to the stupidity of the other two people in our group.I
Jack Nelson, Mr. Jones, Oswald Leysom, Diana Mitchford. These four people are the key players in this grand design.A person of power in the shadows in Hestiania. The fearsome leader of the mafias in that region, Jack Nelson. He is also the sponsor and promoter of Sophaya. The other, Mr. Jones, was a man who originated from Estovania and later formed his own Mafia family here in Heliconia. He is my boss and mentor.Oswald Leysom, A politician from Estovania, is known for his poetry and political views that are down-to-earth and helpful to the citizens of Hestiania. Finally, the owner of the party, soon to be Oswald's wife, Ms. Diana Mitchford. A noble originating from Seraphinania that is known to have quite far-right political views.Together, they represent 4 great powers: Hestiania, Heliconia, Estovania, and Seraphinania. Though maybe not the power that is open in the light but the one lurking in the shadows. Documents have been provided by Mr. Jones himself indicating that they ar
A few days after the situation at the safe house, rumors of Sophaya, The Screaming Cinderella’s kidnap, began to surface. No doubt, this led to many people assuming Razor Peaks was the conspirator. Even though no one has asked us directly yet, I hear words regarding the situation, particularly through the words of the woman who wore the uniform.“Thanks for the drink,” I said while sitting in the chair inside the inn I stayed at.“Thank you for the drink, Missy!” Gilman said towards the woman in uniform.Yet, she can’t help but make a scrawny face. Unfortunately for Gilman, she remembered his face, which was the man who extorted her inn for money for quite some time. I drank my morning coffee, which alleviated my drowsiness. “Boss, it’s been quite a few days. Should we start the relocation again?”As per my planning, it is imperative for Sophaya to be relocated every three days due to many parties involved who wanted to kidnap her for ransom money. Of course, I can’t take her to the i
It’s been exactly one year since his arrival at Heliconia and his conditioning. 3 months of re-education and 9 months of training. Even from the first time I saw him, Shankara had shown potential, particularly in Forte, abling to rival wielders of the aristocrat. I believe he has now been honed into the perfect soldier for Razor Peaks. There is no doubt in his abilities and loyalty to some extent. So, today’s test will measure whether he will continue to develop or stagnate.“Sir, a call from Jack Nelson,”Now, the main event is about to start too.***Arriving at the scene, I looked at the safehouse, which no doubt had been bombarded, and noticeable damage had been sustained on the building.“Gilman, stay on the lookout when you have the chance to enter the building and proceed with our plan,” I ordered him, to which he nodded. As I began to walk towards the building, someone emerged from the front door. “I suppose you have arrived already, Mr. Shankara.” A woman greeted me. She was
As soon as I went to check on Sophaya, I only found her bodyguards bodies severely injured. Someone had already destroyed and ransacked the V.I.P. room. No, I am pretty sure at least 5 people were inside. As they finished their kidnap and ransacked the room, they escaped through the intended backdoor, I had previously ordered Sophaya to go.“Sorry sir, It’s all…” Duke said.“It was my decision. It’s my mistake.”Although we lost Sophaya, we found out the motive behind the kidnapping from the members of the Billy Pickers we caught earlier. The remaining lackey blurted out all the details that he knew. From the looks of it, I don’t think he could lie anymore, but I can never be too careful.I grabbed the telephone from the bar counter and dialled Mr Jones.“Mr. Jones, emergency meeting.”***“Who talked?” That was Mr. Jones's reaction.I didn’t respond. He put out his cigarette and sighed before standing up. Me and I were now inside Mr. Jones's office. It was quite a big room; his desk
“Mr. Ankara, what a pleasant surprise. I thought you wouldn’t be coming to the test concert,” Sophaya said to me with a warm smile, though the fakeness of that smile oozed an aura of anger.“Sorry, I was on a date,” I spoke back.“Ah, I didn’t know you were spoken for.” She complimented me with a witty gesture. The perfect solution to this matter actually would be to interrogate her right this instant. But, I wonder if that would play well to her since she obviously suspected something had happened.“I believe we had something to discuss about Mr. Ankara. Perhaps shall we discuss it now?”Understanding her cue, I followed up with an invitation: “Shall we go to my private room?” I said, offering my hand. But to my surprise, she walked past me with a slightly disgusted look and said, “Please show the way, Mr. Ankara.”Unlike her body double it seems she has a higher touch barrier.Indeed, her mannerisms are different than how they used to be.Confirming the possibility to a degree that t
“Good Morning, Mr. Ankara.” The woman in uniform greeted me as I walked down the inn's floor.“Morning. Black Coffee and Bread.” I replied as I wiped my eyes, walking to my usual spot.“White or Brown?” She asked, holding her broom in her right hand.“Brown,” I replied as she turned for a smile. “Will be served soon!” The woman then went to the counter and talked to her mother. I opened my newspaper today and began to read the news. News about a growing business came to mind. Bootleggers of goods in Heliconia are still at large. Trading up to the Avaloria province, where the merchants resided on the continent,The tavern door opened, and Duke Hebsly entered with an unexplainable expression as he sat down in the chair in front of me. “What brings you here?” I said without making eye contact with Duke.“The man you told me to watch. He said he’ll comply.”“Good. Things will be easier that way. Did he give you his telephone number?”“Yeah, it’s all in this paper,” Duke said as he gave me
