POWERMAN

Chapter Two

William picked up the remote to switch on the television in the parlor. "Good morning viewers at home. I am Joshua Bernard and am here to bring you the news at Seven AM. We will start with the headlines. The god or superhero we like to call Powerman is very much around. Market goods prices have increased, and the next election date has been suspended for important reasons. Now the news about Powerman. 

We have evidence of an old superhero named Power Man who hasn't been seen for the past five years. He finally returned to save a man from a wrecked car accident. The photos shown are evidence he is very much around. " Now about the market goods..." William switched off the TV and sat down on the couch. "This is hilarious, Powerman is finally back. Really?" William sighed and bobbed his eyes shut, facing Richard, who was shocked. 

"But who is this Powerman?" Richard asked in pretense, avoiding showing any suspicious emotions. 

"He is a god and a superhero. " He claims to have been living since over two hundred and fifty years ago, and has saved many lives, until he disappeared five years ago and wasn't there when we needed him," Alison responded instead as she went out of Daniel and Miriam's room. 

"William, Dad and Mom are calling you to their room," Alison announced as she went over to a seat near Richard.

             

Two Hundred And Twenty Thousand Years Ago Planet Thigon (The Deserted Planet)

           

"Hold your ground. Vagarian forces are coming," Bardho ordered, standing beside Sheg in front of the entire combined forces of Theranian and Ovearian armies. 

"I know what you did," Sheg whispered into Bardho's ears. 

"I don't understand Sheg" Bardho retorted in bewilderment and in curiosity, with his lips twitched upwards.

"You drugged my wife into sleeping with her when I wasn't around and used the Cameola to make her forget forcefully," she yelped with fury.

. "I didn't mean to." 

"You thought you could make a god forget something so wicked as that," Sheg added as he shot a feral look at Bardho. 

"After the war, we will seek the issue out," Sheg battered his eyelashes as he flew from Bardho's side to land a fatal blow on one of the commanders of the Vagarian forces.

           

Present Day New York City

          

Richard picked up his phone and, lying backwards on his bed, clicked on the message icon and sent a message to Vonera. "Hi, it's me Denig. " I still don't know my full name," he typed. "It's Denig Sherr" She responded. "You claim to know who I was before right?" He typed. "Yes I do, we are from the same planet." "I need to see you where can we meet" He typed. " Tomorrow there is a tunnel under the Eon bridge that no one goes there we meet by three PM today" She replied "Alright" He typed and huffed as he bobbed his eyes shut....

          

" I still can't believe he used his godly power on me to make me tell him who he was, even though he didn't do it intentionally because of his memories being erased," Vonera gritted her teeth as she faced a dark, tall, thin, beautiful lady who was sitting on in on the cushions in on parlor of a three-bedroom flat. 

"Well, I warned you to keep your distance, that one day he would find out, didn't I," the dark lady replied as she cocked her head pridefully. 

"Theora you and I know that I have been watching him for the past five years, and he didn't notice. " I must have been careless this time, I know, but it doesn't change the fact that his powers are still very much at work and now that he is on the news, they will all come for him," Vonera added, pacing around the parlor. 

       

"I mean, if you had listened to me five years ago, you wouldn't have come to this," Theora said. "Well, I am supposed to meet him today by three PM to tell him everything I was compelled to, even though he didn't mean to get me," saidora mused finally seating down on the couch beside Theora. 

"Well, that would be good because I will be going with you this time. " We both wear our godly protection against compulsion," Theora said. 

"It's what is best for him for now that he regains most of his lost memories that we told him," Theora mused and Vonera nodded her head.

            

Two Hundred And Twenty Thousand Years Ago

Planet Thera

              

"You can't let anyone know about this", Sheg implored, sitting on his throne in the royal palace and facing Doughton. 

He had to spill the facetious secret about Bardho and his wife to Drough, whose eyes popped out in astonishment when he heard it.

"Your secret is safe with me, my Lord," Drough replied as he bowed in a kowtow manner.

 

"Though I have forgiven her because she was drugged, I am still hurt because she didn't tell me," Sheg said with sadistic emotions written over his face, burying his head in his hands. 

"Well, it seems Bardho isn't the friend we thought, my lord," Drough commented.

 

"Well, we cut ties. " I told him I didn't want to see him ever," Sheg announced as he sipped his royal wine, gritted his teeth and balled his fist in fury.

                

Planet Oveara

             

Bardho ate his royal chips on the plate before him. "Seems all my plans are coming to pass," Bardho heaved a sinister smile, facing a talking, thin young black god before him, who was holding his stick. "Well, I am sure now, my rival soothsayer on Planet Thera would know. The god replied, 

"Yes Tarho, he is the one Sheg confides in," Bardho added. "Maids bring me my son Terig," Bardho ordered, calling on the maids outside.

       

A female maiden god came in with a young tall god who had the resemblance to his father. He was fair and handsome. 

"Terig is my son," Bardho said, hugging Terig Drerh. I can't believe that, as young as he is, he has the red flame of Idahocles.

"Yes, just like Denig, their son, which bothers me" Bardho said with concern, signaling to Terig to leave.

 "How," Tarho said as he tickled Terig as he exited the palace. 

       

"I mean there are only two flames of Idahocles. " The anti-sovereign had prophesied that when the blue fire of Idahocles was created by the sovereign, the red fire of Idahocles was also created by the anti-sovereign, isn't it," Bardho mused curiously. 

"Yes my lord," Tarho replied.

"Which means anyone capable of stopping my son from ruling over both Thera and Oveara is going to be Denig since both of them are immortals," Bardho resolved.

        

"I mean we have done everything the anti-sovereign asks us to do. " I slept with the wife after deceiving and drugging her, like the anti-sovereign said, so the red flame of Idahocles could be activated in my son, which came to pass, so I hope it became a success," Bardho gritted his teeth.

"Of course, my lord, it's very positive that we will be successful and take over Thera and control the planets of the universe," Tarho said.

             

Present Day New York City

             

Richard entered the tunnels under the bridge beside Eon road, looking back in case anyone was entering with him. 

"Am I right here in time?" He asked with his head perked up in curiosity as he met Vonera in the tunnel with a dark lady he hadn't seen. 

"My lord meets Theora. " Theora meets Denig, his royal majesty," Vonera announced. 

"No, please just call me Denig or Richard," Richards retorted.

"Okay if you insist," Vonera replied. "Well, I think the name Richard would be better for now," Theora said, shaking Richard's hands. 

"Wow, we didn't know we would be having a third party, Vonera," Richard added, facing Vonera.

        

"Well, she is my younger sister and, like me, she is also a god from planet Thera," Vonera explained. "Wow," Richard blurted out in astonishment and his stomach tickled in excitement.

"Yeah, you were meant to remember your memories gradually and now that you have been exposed publicly, Terig, your half-brother's loyal warriors from both planets Thera and Oveara, will all search for rook and cranny looking for you, even though it means destroying the earth," Vonera explained as a deep furrow appeared on her forehead.

"I have a half-brother called Terig," Richard repeated, looking bewildered.

         

"Yes," Theora said. 

"The less you know, the better. " You are meant to remember the memories yourself, then go to face your half-brother and protect this planet earth which you love so much," Vonera explained.

"The reason why I told you was because you compelled me, which was an ability to be a supreme god. That's the god of gods. You could compel any god not to wear godlike protection," Vonera added. 

"Who am I really," Richard asked as a pang of inquisitiveness washed over him, leaving him completely whacked off his mind.

       

"Well, for now, you are from a royal bloodline. You were the king of Thera after your father's death and also controlled the affairs of the earth as no one dared disturb either Planet Thera or the earth when you ruled," Vonera explained." Until Terig, your half brother...... 

"Hello!! People of New York City" A very loud voice interrupted Vonera. 

           

"I know you are keeping the pathetic god you call Powerman. Well, it would be wise to hand him over, else I would destroy this city first before destroying the earth to find him." The voice boomed.

"How is that so loud," Richard said, removing his hands from his ears? "It's an ability of the gods of Thera and Oveara." " We have a loud godly voice that could be so audible that everyone in the whole city could hear it," Theora explained.

       

"Richard, you have to get home to make sure your family is safe," Vonera advised.

"Denig, I know you are hiding somewhere and, since you already have your memories, you could come out now or else I will burn this city with my godly flames." The voice sounded again, vibrating the walls of the tunnel. 

"What do you mean? " I am not leaving you alone. " I still have to find out who the hell this god is," Richard argued.

      

"You will know everything when the time comes. " For now, we aren't sure if the blue flames of Idahocles have completely taken root in you, and you may die if they are not, and we will have to start from square one again when you are resurrected by the flames of Idahocles," Vonera narrated. 

"Well, that's new. Flames of Idahocles. " I will need to know more about that," Richard said as he fell to the ground and whittled with pain. 

"Arrrrrrh!" He yelped in pain as he began to have flashes of visions of memories, his eyes shining blue fire and the pain stopped.

        

"I just remembered training as a kid on a very beautiful training ground filled with gold everywhere," Richard explained. I saw myself controlling a blue flame. " Is that the blue flame of Idahocles," Richard asked in curiosity. "Yes, it is," Theora replied.

"I can see you are making progress in remembering," Theora added. "Well, all that pain you are feeling is definitely because we told you who you were." You were meant to remember yourself," Vonera said as they all exited the tunnel and landed outside.

               

Two Hundred And Twenty Thousand Years Ago Planet Thera

             

Denig entered the Thera marketplace with Vonera. "So are you too shy about being seen by me or that you don't want people to know who my heart beats for on this planet," Denig teased, facing Vonera and signaled to the Thera royal guards to give them some space. 

"Well, I definitely am shy. I mean out of all the female gods you chose me to marry.

"I'm so lucky," Vonera replied with a perfect smile.

 "Well, I am the one that's lucky to have you," Denig said as he brushed her nose with his two fingers. 

"So what godly bride's attire do you prefer," Denig said, facing her. 

       

"Well, that one," she said, pointing at a beautiful cream-coloured bride's wedding dress. 

"Okay, no problem," Denig said as one of the guards entered to pay for the dress and carried it on their behalf. 

"Isn't it beautiful?" Vonera said." It is" Denig said. " Besides, how is your sister doing?" he added. "Well Theora is doing fine," She said she was dying to attend the wedding," Vonera said. "That's great," Denig said as both of them flew over to the palace while the other guards flew following them. 

               

 Present Day New York City

         

The road was jam-packed with people running for their lives as the Terig gods roamed the city, destroying properties with yellow flames from their eyes and hands. Vonera and Theora fled with Richard and got attacked by one of the gods.

"Well, well, look at what we have here, Vonera and Theora. " That doesn't tell me, I want to guess," Denig Sherr, a tall young fair god in his yellow-godly appearance, was standing beside the other two gods said. "I knew it was you, Vondyke," Vonera snapped, with fire blazing in her veins.

        

"Wow, so you remembered I thought you wouldn't," he said, smiling.

 "Why would we forget?" "You see Tarho told us to stay on earth, so if Denig should ever manifest his powers, we should alert him, but I could kill him here now before he has the full flames of Idahocles and gain honor in the sight of Terig through Tarho." He explained.

"You are so pathetic," Theora snapped as she shot a feral look.

"We aren't letting you have him," Vonera said, signaling to Richard to get behind her. 

     

"Well it's your last chance. You could die here with him or surrender him and I might consider sparing your life," Vondyke said as he removed his godlike sword that glowed a yellow color. 

"Hey man! You have one more last chance, you either leave this place now or the Powerman who has returned will end you", a short fair man in his police uniform said. 

"Such foul hubris coming from a mere mortal", Vondyke scoffed, turning his attention to the police officers.

       

Vonera opened a portal with her godly abilities. "Here this portal will lead you home directly," she said, and Richard entered it, and she closed it. 

"What the hell have you done? You are only delaying the inevitable. God's gods deal with her. " I will search for Denig around this city," Vondyke said as he opened a portal with his godly aura and entered it.
