8 OUTSIDE IS DANGEROUS

“Hand over the sword to me,” prince Gen said to Aiguo, one of their men who was standing in his front, shivering like a sheep to be slaughtered.

Some men laid accusations against Aiguo for sleeping while on duty. Jealousy caused it all. They were jealous of him because he was generous, which made the Gapsin women always go closer to him than them. He played with them a lot, but laying with women was not in his blood. He didn't come from another kingdom, unlike some men. Not only that but he was born and raised in Gapsin. The kingdom was not corrupted until Cheng became king, and everything changed.

“Please, my prince, I am sorry. I promise never to try it again,” Aiguo fell to his knees as he begged for forgiveness, even when he was innocent.

“Please ask him to forgive me,” Aiguo turned to commander Bengt to beg the prince on his behalf, but commander Bengt turned his back on him.

Prince Junfeng forcefully collected the sword from Aiguo when he refused to hand it over to him.

Commander Bengt knew that even if he begged prince Junfeng, he wouldn't listen. Nobody dares stop him from doing what's on his mind.

“So, you have the guts to sleep while on duty, huh?” Prince Junfeng yelled.

“No, my prince. I never slept, that was just a lie. They are lying against ….”

Before Aiguo could finish his sentence, Prince Junfeng had pierced a knife through his throat. Making him fall like a drop of rain from the sky.

“Yeeeh!” All the people standing there hailed him. No one dared to keep quiet after killing any of his men. Even if they don't want to.

They were already used to it. Because he shed the blood of men every blessed day. Commander Bengt will always order everyone to come and take a look, and you dare not refuse to come unless you want to join your ancestors that day.

Although commander Bengt wasn't happy about the killing of innocent souls, there was nothing he could do to stop prince Junfeng, not even his father.

Approximately, Prince Junfeng killed 70 men and 30 women in the kingdom for no reason. He only spares children because he believes that they know nothing about the world.

“What are you waiting for? Take this lazy fool away from here!”

Prince Junfeng shouted.

They took the dead body of Aiguo to the bush and threw him in a large pit dug by them, that was meant for throwing dead bodies.

“My princess, where have you been?”

King Guozhi asked with a gloomy face and immediately, princess Chu Hua got a signal that her father was angry at her, but she rather lied to him or said nothing at all.

“I was in the garden, father.” Princess Chu Hua answered. But her father seems not to be satisfied with her answer.

“But, Nuo checked the garden, and she said you were not there or did you turn to a spirit when she came to the garden?” King Guozhi asked her as he looked straight into her eyes. Princess Chu Hua kept dumb.

“Don't tell me that you left the castle.” King Guozhi smirked.

“No, I didn't.” She replied.

“Then where on earth did you go? I almost had a heart attack when they told me you were nowhere to be found.

Only a few days are remaining for those bloodsuckers that called themselves human beings, to come to this kingdom just to take what does not belong to them; you know that I won't allow that to happen. I thought they had kidnapped you to their kingdom.

Why will you leave me in such worry? Don't you know that, is dangerous outside there?”

King Guozhi bitterly spoke to her.

“I'm sorry, father. I won't try it again.” Princess Chu Hua apologized.

“You promise?” He asked her, and

She nodded and then smiled at him.

King Guozhi smiled back at her and opened his arms widely, waiting for a hug.

She hugged him for a few seconds before letting go of him.

“Perhaps, I have someone I love and trust so much in this kingdom that can look after you even in my absence.” King Guozhi said as he tried to remove his royal crown from his head. Princess Chu Hua helped him in removing it and then asked, “Who is he, father?” Her ears were itching to hear the person's name. It sounds strange to hear that her father has someone that he trusts so much that he believes the person can take good care of her even in his absence.

“My angel, I know you must be wondering who the person is. But trust me, this young man has helped me in the development of this great kingdom in ways that he doesn't know. I have promised myself that the next person to take over this throne after me will be him.

You and I know a princess can't rule this kingdom, “King Guozhi said to her.

“Sure.” She nodded.

“Alright. The person I am referring to is not any other person than our bravest commander. Commander Lucifer.” King Guozhi said.

Princess Chu Hua wanted to bend down to properly tie her sandals rope but stopped abruptly as she heard the person's name.

“Father, do you say commander Lucifer?” Princess Chu Hua was shocked. She thought her father will mention one of the elders in the kingdom, or maybe someone older than commander Lucifer.

“Yeah. Any problem?” King Guozhi asked when he saw the surprise on her face.

“No.” She shook her head.

“Just asking. He is a good man, though,” She added as she squatted to tie her sandals.

“Sure, he is.” King Guozhi, concords with her.

“Tell all the men to prepare their weapons. Everyone should sharpen his weapon,” Commander Lucifer told his sword-bearer.

“Yes sir!” He answered.

“I hope this plan works,” commander Lucifer mumbled.

“Hey!” Someone called for Lucifer's attention, but he turned to the right, but he didn't see anyone. He turned left, down, and even the sky but couldn't find anyone. Lucifer stood confused. Wondering where the voice came from.

“Tish,” a small stone hit him on the head, and he turned around but couldn't see anybody.

Hmmm. Who is playing with my senses?

He wondered but couldn't figure out anything.

“Hey, Lucifer.” A voice came from the sky. Is neither a human being nor an angel calling his name from heaven. The voice sounds so sweet and soft. But it looks scary when someone is calling your name, and you can't see the person.

“Check out the window.” The voice came again.

Lucifer turned around and raised his eyes to look at the window. Lo and behold, it was princess Chu Hua.

Commander Lucifer sighted princess Chu Hua from her window and she burst into laughter and closed the window. She ran back to her room and jumped on the bed as she buried her face in it.

Joy occupied the whole place in her heart and left no room for sadness.

Lucifer stood outside, smiling to himself as he continued staring at her window.

“I thought she said she wanted to go and have some sleep. Why is she not asleep yet?” Lucifer asked himself. He stood in the same spot for almost an hour until he got tired.

“Well, I think she has finally slept,” Lucifer said and left.

“I love him, but how will I tell him?

Who knows, if I tell him, he will look at me as a spoiled princess? Who also knows if he loves me but doesn't want to show up?

All these questions can't be answered right now. I'm waiting for the appropriate time to say it to him. To love someone isn't a sin. But he should have noticed this, because of the signals I have been showing him, or maybe he is just pretending not to see it.” All these thoughts were going through her mind.

Princess Chu Hua wasn't comfortable, so she stood up from the bed. She took some steps to the wall facing her bed, as she stood in front of a big mirror that was placed on the wall. She looked at herself through the mirror, and then she gave a shy smile to herself in the mirror.

When princess Chu Hua remembered that only a few days were remaining for the Gapsin to come for their mission, the smile on her face suddenly disappeared. No one knows what will happen that day.

“What if the Gapsin men are stronger than we?” That's another question that no one can answer for now. After a few minutes of admiring herself in the mirror, she went back and sat on the bed. Sleep came and snatched her away like a thief.

“Sometimes, I don't understand her. She is a nice princess, but occasionally she behaves strangely which makes me lose control. Even if I have feelings for her, I wouldn't let her know. Because She might report me to the king, and no one knows what the king would do to me after hearing it. I wish I could say it to her, but it may lead me to regret it.

I think the best thing to do now is to save everything for myself and not allow anyone to hear it. Only seeing her face and hearing her voice every day break is okay for me. I don't need to get myself into trouble. A time will come that I will be able to confess my feelings for her.”

Commander Lucifer mumbled.
