In a couple of days, Lexie was apprehended the night she bumped into a sergeant in a supermarket.
After the sergeants had asked her a few questions, she was led to an isolated detaining room so that they would carry out an intense interview the following day and deliberate on their judgment. They would also take her to the hospital where Leanna was admitted so that both girls would be properly interviewed.
From the time Lexie bumped into that sergeant till now, she seemed to have been counting the number of beats her heart had skipped. Things were just at a fast pace and she felt like she was dreaming because she didn't expect to be arrested so soon and suddenly. The worst was how people were casting nasty glares at her like they were saying, “ What the heck is this murderer doing here!" And to her greatest amazement, the sergeant suddenly got in and confronted her.
Damn!
She'd never been so embarrassed her whole life. And that was a blow to her parents' reputations. Her heart was throbbing in her throat such that she was gasping for air. Arms folded with her knees raised, the fear of going to jail struck her badly, she was trembling while her teeth were chattering as she was sitting on the bare floor in the detaining room.

Receiving medication through an intravenous line, Leanna was lying on the hospital cot when the door opened slowly, creaking, and someone emerged in the room. Though she was asleep, the footsteps were lingering in her ears.
When the footsteps went on, she said faintly, "Ashley? Ashley…is that you?" Ashley was her nurse, but she'd never come around at midnight. "Ashley?"
Before Leanna could think, the lights turned on revealing the nurse.
"Oops! I'm sorry, Leanna." The nurse said, approaching her "Aww, don't be curious, I just came to check on you. Do you feel feverish?" She touched Leanna's sweaty forehead.
"Kinda," Leanna said faintly.
Her temperature was high as she was sweating profusely. "Lighten up, I've got something for you."
Wait. That voice wasn't Ashley's. It sounded exactly like…Simone?! The reality of the voice startled Leanna. Curiously, she rapidly turned her head to look at the nurse, and in her greatest terror, Simone was the nurse.
What?!!
Her body froze as her heartbeat accelerated to a loud thump against her chest. At this point, her heartbeat was sounding right in her ears. She was sure her heart had swooped to her eardrums because of its deafening impact. She was feeling a twirling sensation in her head as it was banging excruciatingly.
"Si..si...Sim..mm..mone?" Stuttering, the whisper escaped from Leanna's trembling mouth, and her astonished gaze upon Simone was intense. And she could see that deep disgusting injury on her left cheek.
Simone's stern look upon her was extreme. Slowly, she opened her mouth until it was wide, and Leanna involuntarily sat up in curiosity, looking up at her, and raised a brow when she noticed something glittering like silver steel in Simone's wide mouth.
Once thick black blood scummed her left eye and began to slide down Simone's deeply injured cheek, she rapidly put her right hand in her mouth, and it widened to her cheeks with a disgusting slurping sound as the wound opened.
Pulling the glinting steel in her mouth, she retched briefly and burped milk white smelly sticky slimes, and it splashed on Leanna's face before Simone plucked the steel out of her mouth.
Ewww!!
Eyebrows pulled down, nose wrinkled, Leanna's upper lip pulled up as her lips loosed in disgust, especially as the unpleasant smell wafted into her nostrils.
Suddenly, Simone started stabbing Leanna's chest and face with the knife she'd pulled from her mouth. The attack was fierce such that the force of the knife tearing Leanna's flesh apart sounded like hitting gravel with a spade.
Blood was splashing all over, messing up the white bedsheet, the floor, and the walls as it was streaming profusely out of Leanna's body. Her eyes had broken, looking like mixtures of ruddy crumbs and shards in their sockets, and her face was brutally disfigured and bloody.
Blood was also splashing on Simone's whole body, turning her white gown red as it was dripping.
Leanna was too weak to scream. Despite the excruciating pain and blood flowing into her nostrils, she was trying her hardest to breathe. Knife still thrusting Into feeble body and face, she was mourning faintly and that was her last moment.

"If I were you, I would accept this gift." A whisper intruded on Lexie's thoughts.
Bewildered, she flinched to her feet upon hearing that voice from behind her. Instantly, she turned and found a huge terrifying shadow on the wall, and her heart slammed violently against her chest as she shivered in fear.
"Here…" The voice said again from another direction.
Turning, Lexie's eye was almost poked by the knife that was stretched toward her face. With wide eyes, she gazed at that bloodstained knife, the hands with long angled nails on which the knife was, and then she lifted her gaze upon the lady in black. It was that lady she saw in her room a few days ago. "What?! Why the f*ck are you following me around?! Who the h*ll are you?! And why do you keep showing me this f*ckin' sh*t?! Lexie was irritated, she couldn't hold back the yell.
The lady dropped her hands, casting a cold nasty glare at her.
For a second, Lexie thought the lady would attack her but…
" Follow me!"
Who was this lady? Her voice was intense, Lexie didn't dare to refuse even though she barely knew her. There was something about this strange lady.
"W…why sh…should I?" This question slipped from Lexie's mouth. And the way the lady's glare deepened ignited fear in her, she wouldn't risk asking another question, no matter what. She was overwhelmed with panic, she wanted to plead for mercy because she couldn't stand this woman's grave grimace. She began to wonder what was running through the lady's mind.
And how did this lady come in here without unlocking the detaining room? How did she even wanna get out here?
Still glaring down at Lexie, the lady brought forth her right hand. Although Lexie hesitated, she thought the lady wanted to take her hand, so she placed her trembling right hand on the lady's hand and felt the coldness of it.
"Shut your eyes!" The lady commanded harshly and…
Lexie instantly shut her eyes. And for a while she was subconscious…
But when her eyes opened, she was astounded by being in front of her home…alone.
"Get inside!"
Oh, she wasn't alone. Lexie walked cautiously toward the door and was baffled the door was open. She looked back but the lady was gone, leaving her in confusion. Curiously, she got into the living room and her lips dropped as she gasped. Involuntarily, her hands flew to her mouth.
What the!
Why was there blood everywhere? Lexie was alarmed. Fear gleamed in her wide eyes as it followed the bloody imprints and she noticed huge blood stains on the wall.
"Mom!" She cried while running upstairs, following the bloody imprints. "Mom! Dad! Penelope! Yvonne! She called her younger sisters but no response. "Mom! Oh my god! Oh, my f*ckin' god!"
Reaching the second floor, she ran to Penelope's room and opened the door breathlessly, "Pen?! Penelope?!" Her bedsheet and the floor were bloodstained but Penelope wasn't in there.
Leaving the door open, she ran a few distances to Yvonne's room but the door was already open when she arrived. Sobbing already, she hurriedly entered the room and saw that the bedsheet was upward. Expectantly, she got there, pulled the bedsheet, and her lip dropped.
Oh!
She gasped. Her knees were trembling and her whole body stiffened as she was struggling hard to breathe.
Breathing shakily, her hands were shaking violently as they moved toward the girls. Both sisters' bodies were messed up with blood as they were wounded deeply all over their bodies. Their faces were devastated, she could only identify them by their size difference. Their hair had been shaved, leaving their bloody skull. Their eyes were plucked from their sockets, and their lips were cut off, exposing their blood-stained teeth. They were just too ugly to look at.
Tears were streaming out of her eyes as she wept bitterly, falling to her knees. "Oh, Yvonne. Penelope. W..who did this…to you?" Her voice was broken. Despite how horrible the girls were, she rested her head on each of them as she mourned their names.
***
Lexie couldn't find her voice when she entered her parents' room. Blood was streaming out of her mom's mouth as she lay dead on the floor with her blue eyes open. This must be a trap because the killer had kept a small bowl close to Mom's mouth so that the blood dripped onto it. The whole of her arms was gory and she was stabbed in her throat.
Tears had welled up in her eyes, making her sight blurry, burning and tickling her eyes as they slid down her cheeks. Exasperated, Lexie's body was trembling violently, her shaky hands bent to a fist as she gritted her teeth. Fury was rather soaring inside of her, instead of sadness. Breathing shakily, she turned her red-blazing gaze to her dad.
Dad's head had been cut off. The murderer had sat him up on the floor, leaning against the bed with his head on his stretched legs. The room was a bloody mess.
Her left eye hurt excruciatingly as she blinked, and the tears flowed more. The eye Leanna had hit that night had not healed completely, her left eye was still hurting, puffed up, and black.
Inflamed plus broken, Lexie fell to her knees weeping bitterly, punching the damp floor and the blood splashed on her.
"Drink the blood and it will guide you to find the killer." The lady in black whispered, floating in the air with a bowl of blood in he
r hands. "You shall not spare whosoever crosses your part…big and small. You must take revenge! You must kill as many as you reach! Then I'll show you the murderer." She paused briefly. "Take my gift, now!"

"Murder spree! You've got no time, kid. Let's get to work!"With her gaze fixed on the knife in her hand, Lexie was trembling terribly while standing outside the huge building. Once she lifted her watery gaze and blinked tears rapidly rolled down her cheeks, then she wiped them off aggressively. The lady in black smirked as Lexie walked off.***Standing in front of another large building, and breathing heavily, Lexie's clasp on the bloodstained knife tightened. Slowly, she raised her head, gnashing her teeth. Her watery glare was fixed on one of the building's numerous windows."Mom, who's that?" Mia asked, standing and gazing down the window.Isla came over and looked down the window but found no one. "Mia…""Mom," The teen girl said, still gazing down the window. "I swear…I saw someone shady gazing up the window—she was holding something like a knife, I guess.""Mia stop," Isla said. She was trying to pack her hair up for the night. "Go to bed, please."Mia shrugged. "Good night,
"Aghh!" A woman in a white gown clamored as soon as she entered Leanna's room in the hospital the following morning. She screamed and scurried out without casting a second glance at Leanna's gory body. At the drop of a hat, other nurses rushed in and their lips dropped as they gasped in shock with wide eyes. None of them dared to go any further to Leanna as the whole place was bloodstained. *** "Sir! She's gone!" Chase, a young sergeant said to his superior. From across the high table, Mr. Halls cast a stern glance at him but said nothing. "Sir, I dunno how…" Chase continued hesitantly. "But…the cell is locked, just as I left it last night." Mr. Hall's eyes trailed from Chase's head to his thigh. He couldn't glance down at his feet as his papers-infested table covered them. Yet he didn't say a word. Soon, the handheld transceiver on the table began to make static sounds, and they both listened to the shocking report of Leanna's gory corpse. *** The padlock clanked severally
Lexie scurried to Yvonne's room where her sisters' corpses were and went under the bed. She was trying her hardest to control her heavy breathing and was afraid whoever was at the door might find her. Eventually, she heard the distant sound of an eruption, plus something crashing, and she knew they'd broken into the house. With this, she began to tremble. The random sound of footsteps and different voices chattering told her that a group of people had just broken in."...sure this is her home?" A deep voice asked from the hallway."Yes, sir!" Another man answered distantly."The place is damned bloody! Jeez!"Lexie was alert, attentively listening to their conversations and the noises from their search for her. Now, they were walking up the stairs."That girl is a f*cking killer." The deep voice said."Can't believe she disappeared from the cell.""Mysterious, man."A few seconds later…"Oh my God! Oh, my f*cking god!!" Someone exclaimed and she knew they must have seen Mom and Dad's
As soon as the sergeants entered the station everyone's lips dropped in astonishment as they were all bleeding from different parts of their body. Doctor Jake and the two ladies gazed curiously at them as they walked past.***As the door creaked open, Mr. Halls glanced expectantly as each of them walked into his office, and his brows furrowed in a deep frown when the last man shut the door. "Where's she?!" He inquired sternly. The men glanced briefly at themselves. Their superior didn't care about their injuries, or how messed up they were."Chase?!!""Sir!" Chase was dumbfounded. Everything seemed like a dream to him."You lost her again?! Chase?!" The man said and blew out. "I still don't understand what happened last night." Mr. Halls said, casting a grave speculating look at him. "What are you up to, Chase?!"As Chase lowered his gaze, blood dripped from his right eye to the floor randomly and he tried to wipe it off with his palm."Aren't you ashamed that one teenage girl beat f
Lexie didn't realize how long she'd been standing and staring into space when a car's honk sipped into her ears, intruding on her thoughts. Her heart suddenly leaped like it wanted to swoop from her mouth. When she heard car doors banging from a distance, she realized how much trouble she'd got into. Someone was coming. Her bewildered eyes flashed across the living room in search of a hiding place…but it appeared there was no hiding place for her. "She's right in there!!" Chase was the first to storm into the living room, followed by three other men pointing their guns. "Right here!" Chase darted his eyes in search of her but she wasn't there. Then he tore his gaze at the stairs. "Mark! We're going upstairs while you two will stay here! She must be somewhere!!" Her heart was thumping wildly and the knot in her stomach tightened drastically, it felt like her stomach and chest were crushing and about to explode. Each beat of her heart ached excruciatingly, igniting heat in her bod
Chase wouldn't risk going back home this time. He would rather stay and watch her all night if that's what it takes. After locking the cell, Chase was about to turn when Lexie said, "Wait!" And he stopped abruptly."Don't leave me here, please" She said shakily. "Stay with me…"This surprised Chase, but he said nothing."Look, I've not been the one behind these murders…" She whimpered, sniffling. "I wasn't the killer of my parents…and…Leanna…I promise." Her voice was breaking as she sobbed. "I was only trying to defend myself because I knew no one would…" She coughed and sniffled. "Believe…me."She couldn't stifle the cry anymore, so she burst out crying, grasping hard at the cell gate. Chase's face was emotionless and his glare was cold like ice. "So, what the f*ck were you doing in my house?! You even threw a penknife at my wife! You bloody liar!! You attempted to murder me but ended up injuring my right eye! You're a f*ckin' murderer and you gonna pay for this!""She sent me…" Lex
Sure that Lexie had not escaped this time, Chase finally left her the following morning.Enquiring about Lexie was the first thing Mr. Halls did once he got to his office. But he rather questioned Chase with an intent gaze and Chase understood immediately."I watched her throughout the night so she couldn't steal a chance to escape," Chase announced proudly with relief and joy gleaming in his left eye. With a glance at the bandage on Chase's right eye, Mr. Halls asked, "Is the injury that bad?"His superior must be in a good frame of mind to care about his injury for the first time. "Well, it hurts," Chase shrugged. "I just hope it hasn't blinded me."The man only shrugged and said, "Bring the girl."•°•°•°•°•Walking through the hallway to the cell, Chase was clapping, calling her name all along, "It's time! It's time, b!tch!" But she didn't respond. From afar, she appeared to be sleeping. "Hey, Lexie! Wake up!"He got to the cell and shook the gate, "Wake up, Lexie! Are you still as
With curiosity and terror glinting in Mr. Halls' eyes, he was gazing expectantly at the door when another sergeant, Lucia, walked in."Sir!" She saluted firmly. "There's this lady, Chloe Jones, who wishes to speak with you.""A lady?" He echoed the blonde sergeant. "What did she say?""She said Lexie's her niece," Lucia said. "And she wanna speak with you. She's in a fit of panic, sir."A fit of panic. Mr. Halls sighed, feeling distressed and exhausted. The whole thing was complicated. Lexie had never mentioned she had an aunt. He thought and heaved a sigh again. " Let her in, then…" This was unusual.***In no time, a tall brown-haired lady in a short sleeveless free gown walked into his office. Not like he cared but she was stunning like her niece, Lexie. No doubt about them being related 'cause they look alike. But her countenance was grave."Do have a seat." Mr. Halls gesticulated to the chair across from him, smiling with just a side of his lips slightly pulled, wondering what sh
