Chapter 5

"Is this a joke? Who's behind this?" Dylan got panicked because he's afraid that the 1 million dollars will only stay in his account for a short time.

Dylan looked in the mirror. His looks still pitiful. Deep down, he really wanted to use the money to change his life.

System: Rain. The name of this system is Rain. To turn on the system, you need to say the word.

Dylan was shocked, he had to step back because he heard the voice of the system again. Even now the system had a special name.

"Alright Rain. Can I use the money in my account to buy anything?"

System: You are free to use the money as long as it is spent within 3 days. You can also change your look using the following options.

Suddenly, a transparent screen appeared in Dylan's view, containing several male body shapes, clothes, haircut styles, and other accessories. Dylan tried to touch his hand to the front but there was nothing there.

Then Dylan decided to choose by mentioning his choice.

Suddenly Dylan's body felt like being electrocuted again. Then Dylan turned around to look at the mirror.

WOW!

Dylan's look changed. His body muscles grew like a man who diligently exercised until his thin body became invisible. His clothes are very neat with a dark blue suit and matching tie. There's a watch in his hand and Dylan's hair becomes neater too. Now Dylan looks like a real millionaire.

Then on the monitor screen, Dylan could see that the amount in his account had decreased by 13 thousand dollars and left 987 thousand dollars. Dylan didn't expect the clothes and accessories he currently wore to be that expensive. But when compared to 1 million dollars, it was still a small amount of money.

When Dylan looked at his watch, he got a shock as it counted down the time he had to spend his money.

Despite the time he had running out, Dylan felt more confident in his look. He could even walk without bowing his head anymore. Everyone looked at him in a different way than before.

Dylan walked out of the station and took a taxi. Right now he wanted to buy a phone because his old one was broken.

There's a mall for elite people. Dylan entered there and headed toward the electronics store. No one prevented him to enter again. He bought the most expensive phone. As he pulled out his wallet, Dylan realized that he had to change his wallet too.

Dylan bought the latest wallet at the next store. He also bought a briefcase and a suitcase if needed. Not only that, Dylan also bought a few pieces of clothing at a classy store that he knew was very expensive. Some of the clothes Dylan had were not suitable for going to formal places.

Dylan put all his purchases into a suitcase. He had bought all the things he needed. Time was running out, Dylan had 2 days and 9 hours to spend his money.

Shopping turned out to be draining, so Dylan stopped by a restaurant for lunch. He ordered the best-selling food and of course it is very expensive.

While enjoying his meal, a thought suddenly haunted Dylan. Like what if he asked to return the 1 million dollars in full, what if someone searches for him and accuses him of being a smuggler, and so on.

This fear made Dylan want to escape from his country immediately. In addition, Dylan also wanted to start a new life by getting away from the people in his past.

"If I go abroad and take all the cash I have left, they'll have a hard time tracking me, right? Yeah, I'll have to do that."

Dylan found a taxi to go to the bank. While waiting for the taxi to arrive, Dylan tried to communicate with the system.

"Rain, how much balance do I have left?"

System: You have used 395 thousand dollars. The amount left in your account is 605 thousand dollars.

When he arrived at the bank, the same staff greeted him again. They were surprised because Dylan brought a suitcase and they didn't recognize Dylan because of his changed look.

But when Dylan handed over his card, they realized that it was the Dylan who was dressed shabbily earlier.

"I want to withdraw all the money in my account. And can you put the money in this suitcase?"

"Rain, can you find me information on a private plane charter to Florida?"

The holographic screen reappeared displaying an array of private airplane options. Without thinking, Dylan chose the most expensive one because he thought it the safest.

System: You choose flight XXX on a flight to Florida that departs at 7am. You have to pay in cash because all the money in your account has been withdrawn.

"I'll pay for it," says Dylan. Dylan is lucky that the owner of the private plane was able to negotiate with him.

Dylan didn't fall asleep until 5am. He had packed and brought two suitcases for the trip. The first suitcase contained money and the second suitcase contained clothes.

Arriving at the airport, Dylan met the pilot, copilot, several flight attendants and staff who would be traveling with him.

There is still another hour until the plane departs. For this reason, Dylan decided to take a short nap on the plane. 

But just closing his eyes, Dylan felt his body being electrocuted which signaled the system to appear. 

Dylan is really confused because he didn't call the system. 

System: System will run itself if needed. You currently have 1 day and 18 hours left to spend 1 million dollars. 

"I'm not breaking any rules by going abroad, am I?" asked Dylan. He just wanted to make sure.

System: You are allowed to go anywhere. But your time is running out. Call the system immediately if you run out of time.

A flight attendant brought Dylan breakfast, so he pretended to call someone to avoid being thought crazy for talking to himself.

"Please call us if you have any difficulties about anything, Sir. There is a button next to your seat that you can press," the flight attendant said.

"Can I get another coffee?" Honestly, one coffee isn't enough for Dylan because he usually drinks many cups of coffee in a day.

"Of course, Sir. Please wait a moment."

As the flight attendant left, Dylan headed to the toilet. He smoothed his hair and accidentally noticed something on his temple, like an unfamiliar scar. As Dylan observed further, there is a knock on the toilet door from outside.

"I apologize for disturbing you. The plane will take off, Sir. Your coffee is already in your seat, please return to your seat and wear your seatbelt."

It was Dylan's first time on an airplane, so he followed all the flight attendant's instructions. Dylan also wanted to get to his destination country as soon as possible so he could use his money.

The plane began to take off. Dylan seemed to feel the speed of the plane decreasing and the sound of the engine no longer as loud as before.

When the plane successfully flew into the air, Dylan could see a view that he had never seen before. All the buildings that initially looked gigantic to Dylan, now looked very small. The road he used to walk to work began to become invisible.

Dylan takes a photo of the view through the airplane window. One of the dreams of his life had come true. For a moment he forgot about the task the system had given him.

The plane began to enter the coastal area of Florida after some time had passed. Dylan would soon arrive at his destination country.

As the plane flew down, it suddenly shook so hard that several items fell. Even the flight attendant who had wanted to deliver snacks to Dylan also fell.

From the airplane window, Dylan could see a large deep black hole. And now the plane is being pulled towards that hole. The black hole attracted the plane to enter it.

The plane spins around without direction and can't escape the mysterious black hole.

System: Warning to restart. Confirm this command if you agree by answering Yes.

"What does that mean? I wonder what restart means?" asked Dilan in panic,

System: All your memories will be erased if you restart the system. Your memory will be cleared and filled with new memories as you live a new day.

Dylan held on tightly to the airplane seat as everything around him began to fly up. The comfortable journey he had envisioned to the new country he would be living in turned out to be a dream.

Dylan didn't want to restart the system no matter what happened in the future. He wanted to live with the memories he had so far.

"Rain, I don't want to restart."

System: Command confirmed.
