With the departure of the last group of spies from Mayca which was monitored by Gross and Riggs as they left after finding the corpses of the fellows. Gross and Riggs allowed them to leave not because they could not have stopped and killed them like they did to the others. But because they knew that the men were giving up and a message needed to be passed to Monroe that his men were not successful in the simple but difficult mission which they were instructed to carry out.
With this retreat, Gross and Riggs also discovered that Gabriel might have been taken by their men to Byron or that he might have left the city. The same conclusion which was drawn by the spies.
As they were yet to discover which of these conclusions was absolute, a message reached them from Byron through his raven bird, telling them that Gabriel was now safely in his house. This same bird also took the news to Kevin in his own branch where he was searching for Gabriel and the spies. So they were ask
Taking his silence and inability to respond to that simple question, Byron who had asked the question decided to also give the answer. "You are still in Tadeas because it is your country. And your spirit can bear witness to you."It was at this instant that Gabriel got the answer he was thinking of. Although he was not actually confused or thinking about what his response would be. He just wanted to hear what they thought and since he had heard from them, he had to counter it with another truth as to why he was still in Tadeas."I have remained in Tadeas because I seek revenge for my father. His killers have to pay with their lives and once I'm done carrying out my revenge, I shall return home and no one will come after my life anymore. So just pray you have nothing to do with the death of my father as you claim."They were all surprised by his response, it was beyond their imagination. They could not believe the way he was able to counter their response with th
As they began to drag him up in haste Gabriel realized that he was no more going down but up. His eyes had been fixed to the ground and since he was beginning to get far from the bottom as supposed he had to look and see what was going on; how he was being pulled back up. It was at this point that the fear of falling which he was having vanished from his head and he began to let himself down at a faster pace than those dragging him.Just as expected, the curtains were no longer reaching to the ground. He had reached the end of the curtains but was not still on the ground so he had let go of the curtains as he fell.Seeing that he had courage to leave the curtains and jump down. The soldiers that were dragging him up quickly took hold of the curtains and slid down.As the first was sliding down, Gabriel who was in pain because he had jumped from a good height, ignored the pain which he was passing through, got up to feet as he hopped in the race. He did not imagi
After Gabriel took his face away from beholding Byron's smiling face, Byron knew that he needed some time, so he did not say anything but was still sitting on the bed close to him.Several minutes passed but Byron did not still leave the room whereas Gabriel was thinking he would leave. Since Byron refused to go away, Gabriel turned again to him. "Aren't you supposed to be leaving now?""Are you chasing me out?""Yes. You all should leave." He shouted with anger. Then Byron nodded his head, signaling Norris and Frost to go out but still remained in the room."You too... Go with them." Gabriel said after Norris and Frost were gone but Byron showed no sign of leaving."Why exactly do you want to leave? You will be killed the moment you leave this place. So you have to stay."Gabriel did not reply to Byron as he paused and waited for him to say something. He just closed but it did not mean that he wanted to fall asleep. And Byron
As Byron saw them come down again in just a very short time, he was very astonished and his inner self told him that their purpose was not achieved. "Why are you back so fast? What happened?" Mueller could not answer the question because he was wondering how it would sound in the ears of Byron. So Abby helped in giving the response to the query since she noticed that her grandfather would not talk "Gabriel asked us out. He does not want to see us. His anger towards us is still high and there is no way he would hear anything we have to say." "Come with me, let's go back." Byron said. "Following you back there will change nothing. His anger towards us is outrageous and can't be reduced in such a short while." Mueller said. He did not have the energy to start climbing back to the top only to come down again. "In that case, you both should wait here for me, please don't go." Byron begged them as he ran to the staircase and started cl
It was morning again, and the pain in his ankle was not as painful as it was in the night. Now Gabriel was able to manage himself up on his feet. Just like every other person, he was tired of lying on the bed. For a whole day, he wants to be able to stand on his feet."My lord, are you sure you don't need help?" Frost asked in fear. Gabriel was staggering and sure needed assistance but he had asked them not to help him. He wanted to walk on his own without aid.But even if the pain was not as before, he still couldn't stand for so long. He almost fell down but good thing Norris and Frost were standing very close to him. So they helped him back to the bed where he sat. Then there was a knock on the door of the room and Frost attended to it. It was Mueller and Abby. Byron had sent a few soldiers to bring them to his place with a cart so they wouldn't have to journey the distance on foot.As Gabriel, who it was, said to Norris and Frost, "Please leave us," a
Byron now went up to see Gabriel after Mueller and Abby were gone, and also when Abner had finished checking on him that morning."How are you feeling today Mr lord Gabriel?" Byron asked as he walked into the room."Better," Gabriel replied while Norris and Frost lowered their heads in form of salutation to Byron."I'm glad to hear that. Abner just told me that you are recovering very fast and that is really good news.""It's not as fast as I want. I should be able to walk well by now."Then Gross came up to the room as he bowed to both Byron and Gabriel."Lord Byron, you need to see this."He sounded in a way that would make anyone frightened and curious about what had happened. And Byron became curious as he fixed his gaze ok Gross. "What is it, Gross?""You come with me my lord." Gross refused to say what the problem was. He made a sign which was understood by Byron alone, and that sign meant that the news was not good to be
The days continued. Abner continued his professional work and Gabriel continued his exercise of walking round the place. Within the next two days, he was no longer hopping in movement. He began to jog and that was an exercise to confirm that he was able to run again. After a week since Gabriel broke his ankle. He had fully recovered and from the way he was acting when he moved around the environment cheerful, it was concluded by Byron that he would not leave there again. So Norris and Frost were relieved a little of their duties of following him around the environment. But once in a while they will always check on him.Two days have passed since his bodyguards no longer follow him around like flies. So Gabriel now had the space to conclude his escape plan. He had started acting like a prince just as Byron wanted, he was giving some soldiers instructions and they were obeying him. But had not still agreed to be king and it was fine with Byron. Since everything had
"Dylan, Sebastian, remember why we are here. Don't let this lie from Byron deceive you?" Monroe said.He was very convincing and Byron did not know what they had discussed before coming. But even in his convincing character, there was one thing he could not convince the others on; that is to tell them to give up their desire of becoming king.Monroe said a few normal words, but supporting them was some signs and instantly they all turned to Byron and his men. Now they were the common enemy of all three groups. There was no more shaking of the soldiers concerning who to attack, they knew who to attack."Now tell us, were in the Gytlean?" Monroe asked Byron again."Is this it? You're all against me." Byron then raised his hands as if he was signaling his men to lay down their arms. But as his hands were put in the air, a few arrows flew in out of nowhere but did not hit anybody. They just landed in front of Monroe and the others, making them wonder w
