It was morning again, and the pain in his ankle was not as painful as it was in the night. Now Gabriel was able to manage himself up on his feet. Just like every other person, he was tired of lying on the bed. For a whole day, he wants to be able to stand on his feet.
"My lord, are you sure you don't need help?" Frost asked in fear. Gabriel was staggering and sure needed assistance but he had asked them not to help him. He wanted to walk on his own without aid.
But even if the pain was not as before, he still couldn't stand for so long. He almost fell down but good thing Norris and Frost were standing very close to him. So they helped him back to the bed where he sat.
Then there was a knock on the door of the room and Frost attended to it. It was Mueller and Abby. Byron had sent a few soldiers to bring them to his place with a cart so they wouldn't have to journey the distance on foot.
As Gabriel, who it was, said to Norris and Frost, "Please leave us," a

Byron asked as he walked into the room."Better," Gabriel replied while Norris and Frost lowered their heads in form of salutation to Byron."I'm glad to hear that. Abner just told me that you are recovering very fast and that is really good news.""It's not as fast as I want. I should be able to walk well by now."Then Gross came up to the room as he bowed to both Byron and Gabriel."Lord Byron, you need to see this."He sounded in a way that would make anyone frightened and curious about what had happened. And Byron became curious as he fixed his gaze ok Gross. "What is it, Gross?""You come with me my lord." Gross refused to say what the problem was. "Dylan, Sebastian, remember why we are here. Don't let this lie from Byron deceive you?" Monroe said.He was very convincing and Byron did not know what they had discussed before coming. But even in his convincing character, there was one thing he could not convince the others on; that is to tell them to give up their desire of becoming king.Monroe said a few normal words, but supporting them was some signs and instantly they all turned to Byron and his men. Now they were the common enemy of all three groups. There was no more shaking of the soldiers concerning who to attack, they knew who to attack."Now tell us, were in the Gytlean?" Monroe asked Byron again."Is this it? You're all against me." Byron then raised his hands as if he was signaling his men to lay down their arms. But as his hands were put in the air, a few arrows flew in out of nowhere but did not hit anybody. They just landed in front of Monroe and the others, making them wonder w

As he reached the door, there was no sound coming from the room, the guard who was tied had gotten tired of making the pointless noise which he was making because no one would hear him."Lord Gabriel, can I come in?" Byron knocked on the door and waited for a response. At the sound of the knock, the strength of the guard was regained as he began the humming sound again.Byron was confused as he heard the sound instead of a clear response to his question. "Lord Gabriel.... is that you?" Yet it was still the same sound that he got as a response. So Byron opened the door without waiting for a clear response because the sound was very suspicious and abnormal. He could not believe his eyes when he saw the guard tied up in the chair. So Byron hurriedly removed the piece of clothing used to cover the mouth of the guard. "What happened here? Where is Gabriel?""He took my clothes and left me here....""How long?""It's not up to
Paths to destiny. Chapter 30. Mixing truths with lies.
Gabriel was wise enough not to tell them everything that happened in the country of Tadeas, especially the truth about his father and the fact that he was to be king over the whole country. He only told them that the country was in division and needed to be united once again. He also told them of how he was a hot cake in the city. Every city wanted to have communion with him because he was from Gytle. That was a lie, so he warned them to be anxious of the type of communion which they wanted to have him. Therefore, he told them that Tadeas was not a good place for somebody from Gytle. He praised his town, Gytle, so much and told them that they were the envy of Tadeas. He told them that Tadeas longed to be in peace like Tadeas, so maybe they wanted him to help them with some advice about being in peace.Gabriel was just mixing truths with lies so that none of his friends would think or plan on going there. He told them that he was back for good and will never journey again into
Paths to destiny. Chapter 31. Who does not like power?
Three years had passed and the search for Gabriel in the city of Mayca had totally died. Byron and his men have up their search and hope that he will return. For him not to be found after a year plus was enough reason for them to buy the belief that Gabriel was gone for good. They believed that he was finally dead. So Byron joined the other generals to long for the throne. There was no need for him to keep the belief that Gabriel was still alive. He formerly did not want to ascend the throne because he believed that Ronald Rodgers was still alive. So now that his death was confirmed and his son also; even if his dead body was not seen. It now meant that the mantle of leadership was compulsorily going to fall on one of the generals and who on earth would not like to be king? Who does not like power? Gabriel was about hitting the road with Colin Parker. They were heading to join Enoch in the hunt, when suddenly he came out from behind panting heavily. They were shocked when Enoch came into sight, breathing like someone who was being chased by a jaguar."What is it...?" Colin asked as both him and Gabriel rolled their eyes around, looking very alert to see what was chasing their friend.Enoch could not say a word instantly, so he had to spend some time regaining and stabilizing his tension. He noticed the alertness of Colin and Gabriel, and he knew what went through their minds."Please I was not chased by anything.""Then why were you running at such a speed?""Your enemies are here again.... there is someone from Tadeas who is desperately looking for you....""That is not true. After all these, I don't think that is possible..." Colin disagreed with Enoch."It is very much possible, my friend... After all, it was something common, most times they spend the night together at either of their houses."So tell me, since you claim that Gabriel is your real name. Why does the people here say there is no one that goes by that name?""That is because they don't trust you or anyone from Tadeas. After what happened to my father, They decided not to tell anyone from Tadeas about me. They will always tell them that I was no more. Chapter 196. A new era.
When the signing and positioning of the generals were done, four eldest men of Tadeas, one from each city each stood out to make the announcement of who the new king will be, for it was a tradition in Tadeas that the eldest men from each city will come together to put the crown on the head of every new king, and they will pray him before and after doing this, asking that the gods will grant them the wisdom to lead the country in the right and appropriate way that will be pleasing to the whole nation. So the elders held their hands together as they prayed for the crown and the throne, asking that it would not control the king but rather the king should control it. Afterwards, they called forth Dylan Ryan, who the whole people had gathered to watch him being crowned. While he walked up to meet these men, he looked at Gabriel and was surprised that he hadn't brought out the scepter yet, so his mind was beginning to calm down, as he inhaled and exhaled rapidly while climbing up to the thr

In the city of Mayca, at the house of Byron Haas, the message which Sebastian had sent by means of his raven bird got to the soldiers at the gate, and they took it out from the bird, letting it fly back to its city. They knew that every message that came to them by that means and pattern was for lord Byron Haas so they did not bother checking it to confirm who it was for before sending it to Byron, who was still making arrangements for the next day's event. "My lord, there is a message for you." The guard said as he came before Byron. Then she turned and looked at the soldier before asking, "Who is it from?""Lord Sebastian of Gilroy."Then he took the note from his hand to read its contents only to see the inscription that it was not for him, rather it was for Gabriel. So he said to the soldier that had brought. "Take this to Gabriel, he is the one it's for and not me." Then he took it as he confirmed whether it was for Gabriel, before apologizing. Chapter 194. Sensing failure.
In the city of Cyb, as the day for the coronation of Dylan Ryan drew closer than ever, that was the same his curiosity and anxiety grew the most. He was not as happy as he ought to be because he was still unable to figure out the plan which Byron and Gabriel had. Even though he had made sure his army was strong enough to defend him in case of violence, he still feared that there would not be any march for the plan that Byron had made. His greatest anger was that he had no power backing him up this time and even with the warning of the spirit of the witch, he still did not want to as she had told him. He was bent on winning by all means, but he could already sense failure in the plan he had made.Sensing failure was not still enough to tell him to give up the throne, a greater part of him was telling him that there was no plot against him being crowned king over Tadeas, because his spies had not brought any word telling him such, it was still a presumption in his heart there was a plan

Byron had to speak again, "For the last time, we don't have any plan of which we need your help for it to succeed. In short, there is no plan at all to stop the coronation. Since you and Monroe Howard have refused to come to the realization that Gabriel is the only king Tadeas should have at this point, then he would not fight for any throne. On the day of the coronation, as the country will match to watch Dylan Ryan ascend the throne, that is the same way Gabriel and I along with my men will match to witness the king who you have refused to oppose ascend the throne.""But I am telling you right here that I confess Gabriel as my king and I'm ready to do anything to make sure he ascends the throne in his father's stead."Then Gabriel chose to test him since he had made so much pleading and claims that he is now a new person. So Byron had to come in without allowing him to go further. "Yes, that reminds me, did you tell Monroe about it? And what was his response?""No, I did not tell him about this because he does not know anything about this, so I did not see the need to disturb him with it because he would not understand a signal word that will come from my mouth.""That means you literally have not done anything about what you know that will lead this country to its doom?""Yes. I did not do anything because there is nothing I can single handedly do. I asked for your help yet you did not consent to it. Meaning that you do not want to do anything about it so I also have to forget about doing anything concerning it. Byron could see that Sebastian had a point in the two things that he had suspected concerning why they were there in his city, but none of them was correct, so he chose to tell him the reason why he had come into Gilroy but did not get to his house, whether he believes it or not. "Well, I do not doubt your thoughts. You are very justified to think that way but then I have to tell you that none of what you said is correct, nor is it even close to the true reason why we were in your lands.""Then speak up. Tell me why you were there and why you returned?""Of course I will. Actually, we were coming to speak to you, but not concerning what you told us. Instead, it is because of what we heard and needed to know the truth. But before we got to your house, we received word that the reason why we were coming there was already settled, so we had to turn around.""Lies! Pure lies.""It's not a lie.""Then prove it. Gabriel was not in haste to respond to him as he discerned what he was trying to do. Wagner said. All their attention shifted to theen that had been brought before them. Then Byron said as he suspected something far different from what Monroe had been telling them since they arrived there. "I know you very well Monroe, you are quick to anger and will never let such crime go unpunished, so tell me, why haven't you asked for the execution of these men?" Then they were happy, thinking that he had thought about what they told him concerning using Abby to get Gabriel to come there. So they stopped and looked at him."Untie her." He commanded. So they loosed the ropes used to tie her hands, also the blindfold was taken off including the mouth which had been covered. Then she could see lord Monroe Howard and she knew that he was innocent of the crime which his men had done because she had heard what he said to them. When she was now loose, Monroe said to her.
