Since they were riding on horsebacks, they were much faster than Gabriel and his two paddies who were journeying on foot. The sun had already set by this time and the clouds were dark. So when Enoch heard the sound of running horses coming their direction, the three of them predicted the same thing and it was correct. They knew that was going to be Kevin and his men, so they went off the road and hid themselves while Byron overtook them.

After they had ridden past them, Colin said to Gabriel while they were still hiding in the bushes, "You see why we should not have left Mayca."

"Do they look peaceful to you?" Gabriel asked Colin. "I am sure they want us dead."

"No Gabriel. They are restless because their king has fooled them by leaving after making a promise to them." Enoch said to Gabriel.

"That man Byron wants me dead, there is no doubt."

"No, he wants you to rule your people."

It is the son of Ronald, the heir to the throne that is present in our midst today. He did not die together with his father when you sent your men to kill them.""Watch your tongue Byron. How dare you say that I sent my men to kill the king instead of bringing him back."Gabriel wanted to speak up at this point but his spi

Coming back to the house is Byron that night, he was surprised how everyone was looking very serious and moody. When he was seen, it was a shock to the first soldier to see him. The soldier flasked his light towards the direction where he was coming from as he asked. "Your majesty, is that you?"Gabriel saw fear and surprise in the eyes of the soldier who asked him the question. "Yes, it is me. Well you remove that light from my face?""Lord Gabriel is back!!!" The soldier screamed out loud. "My lord, thank heavens you are safe. Did they hurt you?"That was the second strange thing that was happening before Gabriel that day. "What are you talking about?""The soldiers who took you, can you recognize them?" The soldier asked, soon other men began to run towards Gabriel in response to the alarm which the soldier had sounded."Please, I was not captured by anybody." Gabriel told them as he walked freely to the main building. When it was morning, Enoch and Colin came over to his room to

When Kevin and his men who had gone on patrol came back that day, they heard of the letter from Sebastian Peyton, their minds went straight to thinking that the letter was going to talk about where Gabriel was because they still did not know that Gabriel had returned. They were still out there searching for him.So Kevin and Gross went to see Byron and find out what the message said about Gabriel's whereabouts."My lord, we had a message came in today from Sebastian. Is he the one that captured the king?"Byron did not respond instantly, he was thinking about what his wife had told him and how to stop Gabriel from taking the quest. Not knowing what was going through the mind of Byron, Gross and Kevin thought their prediction was correct."Don't worry my lord, we are going to march against him so that he will release the king immediately."Now that was what Byron heard and returned from his thoughts as he noticed their presence even though they were about leaving. So he asked them befo

Then there was a moment of silence as they were allowed to think about what he had said. At the end of the few minutes of silence and thoughts, Colin said, "We understand what you are saying, but I don't see how this will bring about the death of Gabriel. He is only going to ask for what is rightfully his. He is supposed to have the specter before he can lead the people and unite them again. Also, the gods should already know that he is the grandson of King Rodgers Chung so they should hand it over to him peacefully so that the nation will be at peace again. Or do the gods of Tadeas hate peace? Are they in support of the war going on in the country?""No they are not. But you don't....." "If they are not, then this should be a very simple task.""You don't get me,""No we do," Enoch opposed. "You are asking us to convince Gabriel not to embark on this journey?""Exactly!""But we can't,""You don't know the danger which is ahead of him, that is why you are in support of him going. Yo

As he turned away, the mind of Riggs instantly became calm even though he knew that Gabriel still had a few more questions which he needed answers to.As Gabriel walked back to the house, Enoch and Colin who had watched him while he spoke with Riggs walked up to him to find out what he was saying to Riggs because they had come to know that Gabriel never spoke with Riggs. Also it was so that they could tell him about their discussion with Byron before he left for Gilroy."Gabriel, what is going on?" Colin asked as they came close to him while he was walking. He had discerned that it would be because of the sudden departure to Byron and some of his men."I don't really know, my dear friends.""But you just finished with Riggs about it. I am sure it's about the departure of Byron.""Yes it is. Your instincts are right but I did not get a desirable reply from Riggs.""What did he say to you?" Enoch asked and they then stopped walking, standing at spot."Byrinr is going to Gilroy to confro

Now Byron was silent for a minute, he was thinking of what to prove his claims with and through his thoughts, there was nothing solid to prove his claim with but the little which he can say, that he said. "Gabriel is the son of Ronald Rodgers and he knows his father by the name Newton Ken. He grew up in the town to Gytle. He has the character and mind of his fathers."With all these things which Byron had said, Sebastian could not help it but burst out into laughter. "Hahaha......""There is nothing funny in what I had said." Sebastian was still in the mood of his uncontrollable laughter, "O Byron Hass, there is everything funny in what you have said.""No there isn't.""You call all you have said proves that Gabriel is the son of our king? Those are simple things which a man can pretend to be. You have told him how to act, what to say and many more. As Gabriel and his friends came out of the hall, they went to meet Kevin. Kevin was not expecting them to come to him on such matters even though he too wanted to talk to Gabriel about what had happened in the house of Sebastian."Commander, can I have a word with you privately?" Gabriel asked because he was still in the midst of his fellow soldiers."Yes my lord," Kevin excused himself from amongst the soldiers and followed Gabriel, Enoch and Colin as they walked away from the others.Coming a good distance away from the other soldiers, Gabriel then asked him. "What happened at the place of Sebastian? And why exactly did you people leave without telling me?""Shouldn't lord Byron be the one you should be talking to about this?""I know, but you are the one we want to hear first. Besides, Lord Byron is with Lady Aria and we are not supposed to interfere. So tell us, what exactly did you go there to do?"Kevin had to answer the question because the king was requesting, "We went to see

Abby was silent after hearing this, she was having a conversation within herself concerning what she had heard and what she should do in that regard. Byron was patient as he waited for her to finish with her thoughts and then give him a response."My lord, from all these things that you have said, it only proves that lord Gabriel must surely embark on this journey and since he is the heir to the throne, the gods would give him the scepter without a fight.""Oh no...." Byron said within him, but it was seen in his face and expressions that he was disappointed with what Abby had said. He placed his hand on his forehead, thinking of the best way he could explain himself so that Abby would grab what he was communicating to her. "I knew she would think the same thing as Gabriel." He was still muttering to himself."Excuse me Lord Byron, what are you saying?" She asked as she did not hear what he was saying clearly."You do not understand the magnitude of this journey which he is asked to g

When the signing and positioning of the generals were done, four eldest men of Tadeas, one from each city each stood out to make the announcement of who the new king will be, for it was a tradition in Tadeas that the eldest men from each city will come together to put the crown on the head of every new king, and they will pray him before and after doing this, asking that the gods will grant them the wisdom to lead the country in the right and appropriate way that will be pleasing to the whole nation. So the elders held their hands together as they prayed for the crown and the throne, asking that it would not control the king but rather the king should control it. Afterwards, they called forth Dylan Ryan, who the whole people had gathered to watch him being crowned. While he walked up to meet these men, he looked at Gabriel and was surprised that he hadn't brought out the scepter yet, so his mind was beginning to calm down, as he inhaled and exhaled rapidly while climbing up to the thr

In the city of Mayca, at the house of Byron Haas, the message which Sebastian had sent by means of his raven bird got to the soldiers at the gate, and they took it out from the bird, letting it fly back to its city. They knew that every message that came to them by that means and pattern was for lord Byron Haas so they did not bother checking it to confirm who it was for before sending it to Byron, who was still making arrangements for the next day's event. "My lord, there is a message for you." The guard said as he came before Byron. Then she turned and looked at the soldier before asking, "Who is it from?""Lord Sebastian of Gilroy."Then he took the note from his hand to read its contents only to see the inscription that it was not for him, rather it was for Gabriel. So he said to the soldier that had brought. "Take this to Gabriel, he is the one it's for and not me." Then he took it as he confirmed whether it was for Gabriel, before apologizing. Chapter 194. Sensing failure.

In the city of Cyb, as the day for the coronation of Dylan Ryan drew closer than ever, that was the same his curiosity and anxiety grew the most. He was not as happy as he ought to be because he was still unable to figure out the plan which Byron and Gabriel had. Even though he had made sure his army was strong enough to defend him in case of violence, he still feared that there would not be any march for the plan that Byron had made. His greatest anger was that he had no power backing him up this time and even with the warning of the spirit of the witch, he still did not want to as she had told him. He was bent on winning by all means, but he could already sense failure in the plan he had made.Sensing failure was not still enough to tell him to give up the throne, a greater part of him was telling him that there was no plot against him being crowned king over Tadeas, because his spies had not brought any word telling him such, it was still a presumption in his heart there was a plan

Byron had to speak again, "For the last time, we don't have any plan of which we need your help for it to succeed. In short, there is no plan at all to stop the coronation. Since you and Monroe Howard have refused to come to the realization that Gabriel is the only king Tadeas should have at this point, then he would not fight for any throne. On the day of the coronation, as the country will match to watch Dylan Ryan ascend the throne, that is the same way Gabriel and I along with my men will match to witness the king who you have refused to oppose ascend the throne.""But I am telling you right here that I confess Gabriel as my king and I'm ready to do anything to make sure he ascends the throne in his father's stead."Then Gabriel chose to test him since he had made so much pleading and claims that he is now a new person. "To prove to me that you are not the same as you used to be, you will have to take me to the place where you buried my father. I am quite aware that it was you and

So Byron had to come in without allowing him to go further. "Yes, that reminds me, did you tell Monroe about it? And what was his response?""No, I did not tell him about this because he does not know anything about this, so I did not see the need to disturb him with it because he would not understand a signal word that will come from my mouth.""That means you literally have not done anything about what you know that will lead this country to its doom?""Yes. I did not do anything because there is nothing I can single handedly do. I asked for your help yet you did not consent to it. Meaning that you do not want to do anything about it so I also have to forget about doing anything concerning it. So that we will both watch the country be destroyed because that is what you want by not wanting to help me in confronting Dylan to forfeit his interest."Sebastian was really doing a great job at this point to convince Byron into believing that he was a changed person who would want to see Ga

"Well, I do not doubt your thoughts. You are very justified to think that way but then I have to tell you that none of what you said is correct, nor is it even close to the true reason why we were in your lands.""Then speak up. Tell me why you were there and why you returned?""Of course I will. Actually, we were coming to speak to you, but not concerning what you told us. Instead, it is because of what we heard and needed to know the truth. But before we got to your house, we received word that the reason why we were coming there was already settled, so we had to turn around.""Lies! Pure lies.""It's not a lie.""Then prove it. He kept silent as those with him also realized what Monroe was trying to do and they could now see with their own eyes that Monroe deserved to pay for all that he had done.Just as Gabriel was finally about to say something in response to the question that Monroe had asked, Wagner entered into the hall again with the five men he had gone to call for Gabriel and his company."These are the men you seek?" Wagner said. All their attention shifted to theen that had been brought before them. Then Byron said as he suspected something far different from what Monroe had been telling them since they arrived there. "I know you very well Monroe, you are quick to anger and will never let such crime go unpunished, so tell me, why haven't you asked for the execution of these men?" Monroe was dumbfounded, even Wagner that had called them there, what Byron had said was exactly what Monroe Howard would do if he truly

They acted on their own will without hearing from their master." Abby reminded him of what she had told them earlier."You can never trust that man. Maybe it was a plan which he made with his men, even if it wasn't, he still wants me dead and I have to kill him before he kills me.""Yes, we know, but this is not time, let's give him a little more time to make amends and if he doesn't then we shall execute him."

Then she could see lord Monroe Howard and she knew that he was innocent of the crime which his men had done because she had heard what he said to them. When she was now loose, Monroe said to her.
