"Aim for the joint....." Riggs shouted, since he acknowledged that Colin was right and also since it was the joint which striked and the creature felt the impact.

They had gotten the information they had been waiting for and all targets were focused on the joints just as Riggs had told them.

With the new knowledge and technique, they soon cut the legs of the two spiders which were their main target and then they faced another while the other two fled, showing that those creatures were wise. They saw that their weak point had been discovered and death was surely their portion if they continued.

The one which they had focused on this time around wss also trying to escape but the warriors did not give it the chani which I was looking for. They made sure they compassed it, giving it no space to run. The more they ran, the more terrifying the noise and the earthquake. It became so much that Kennedy was forced to look back because the noise came majorly from behind. Lo what he saw were the giant spiders in more numbers than they had left. "What....." he slipped and fell to the ground.Luckily Colin who was behind him dragged him back to his feet instantly, as they continued the race. "Don't ever look back again." Colin happened to be the last person and from the way he gave that warning to Kennedy, it appeared that he too had looked back to see what was behind them.Frost was forced to ask without looking back, "What is it?" He was anxious to know what was coming behind them."Nevermind. Just keep going and don't look back." Colin answered him too.But Kennedy could not keep his mouth shut, he said, "It's the giant spiders, they are right behind us.""What!" Gross heard this and turned to look, but Colin stopped him from taking the sight as he used his hands to hold back his head f

They seem to have sat down there for over twelve hours yet there was no sign that light would ever be seen in penetrating into the hole, so Frost who was not holding on to anyone was losing patience as he opened his sack and began to scatter it in the dark."What's going on? Who is making that noise?" Gross asked yet Frost kept him silent as he continued with what he was doing. He was doing this as he remembers putting something that could start up a fire. When his hands laid hold on what he was searching for, he began to crack them so as to start the fire. The others saw a flash of light as striked the second and Colin said, "Whoever is doing that should keep doing."Frost still did not answer them until he began to feel smoke so he stopped and was not blowing air for the fire to fully start. As the light was seen, the others "YES!" Even when they had not seen the person doing it. In the next few seconds, that was when the fire was bright and they could see who it was that had made i

  • Paths to destiny.   Chapter 91. He saw this before now.

It was noon that same day after one of Byron's men had gone and brought words about the confirmation whether Abby knew any seer as Aria had thought and predicted. So the later finding and report of this soldier was that she knew one.So now that Byron had gotten the information that he needed, it was now time for him to go over to the house of Abby to know where he could find this seer which she calmed knowing. As Abby opened the door of her house, she was surprised to see Byron, "My lord, what brings you to my house? To what do I owe this honor?""Will you let me in before asking why I have come?"Abby looked and was surprised that he had come alone, not even one soldier came with him as an escort, not Alan, his new best warrior. So she had the feeling that what brought him there was something very secretive and that he would not like anybody to ever see him alone. "Sorry my lord, please come inside," she leaves the way, granting him passage into her house. "Please have a seat," she

Byron was amazed at how she has refused to tell him about the seer unless she goes with him, and he was very much aware that most times seeing a seer could be very dangerous so he did not want to risk her such. "Abby, please understand that seeing somewhere like this is very risky so I don't want anything to happen to you that is why I am asking you to stay back.""I know that it could go bad and that is why I haven't gone all these while because there was no one to go with me, so now that you are going, I will be joining you. Whereas, why should I be bothered about things going wrong when I am with you and your men?"Abby had proved her point to him but he could not agree to it. He wouldn't want her to go with him, plus that he was not even intending to go with any of his men. So he wanted to focus on protecting himself alone and not carry someone that might be of a burden to him. "In that case, I am not going anymore." Byron said as he stood up to leave, thinking that Abby would ca

It was noon the next day, when Byron sent the soldier again to Abby's house to get the information he needed. But when Abby saw him, before he would even state his purpose there, she asked based on what she thought he was there for. "Welcome sir, I am sure lord Byron sent you to bring me to his house. You will give me some minutes to prepare. I promise it won't take long."The soldier was surprised because of the words she spoke, it was totally off point. It had no relationship with his purpose there. "Slow down, miss....""Wait.... you are not here to take me to the house of lord Byron?""No, that is not what I am here for.""Then why are you here if it's not lord Byron that has sent you to me?" She was not as happy as she was when he came in again as she sat on a chair."Don't you remember me?""Sorry, but how else do you want me to remember you other than that you are one of the soldiers of Mayca?""No, that is not the memory I am talking about.""Then tell me the type you are talk

After Quincy left, Byron Hass was now left to think about what he had said, it appeared to be true everything he said. Since Abby wanted to go with him, he had to take some men with him, after all he had nothing to lose in doing so.When he was done with this meditation, he called Quincy again and told him to go and bring Abby to the house. As Abby saw him returning again after quite a few hours, she was happy as her mind now told her that he was really telling the truth and now she would have to see the seer and the answers to her one queries. She was surprised when Quincy told her that lord Byron had asked her to come over to the house. She then knew that Quincy had lied about him coming on his own and wanting to see the seer. When the night began to fall and they got to a spot, Abby said, "This is the place."They were surprised why she would say that was the place, they were in the middle of nowhere, the place looked deserted. It was not like someone lived around the area."What do you mean this is the place?" Byron asked her without hesitating."This is where the seer stays, he told me it is somewhere around here.""But there is neither a building nor a tent in this place." Alan pointed out to her. It was more like a reminder because he felt that she had forgotten that they were in farmland that seemed to be abandoned by the owners."Yes, I know but this is where I saw him and he gave me directions on where to go. When I asked where he stays so that I can come and thank properly, he told me it's a few blocks ahead due east."They all were not liking what they were seeing and hearing at all. It made their ears tingling and anger seemed to rise in them. But they tried to control it and keep following her d

They spent some time inside the house as they shifted from why they were there and began to check the things inside. There were all kinds of things inside the hut. All the things one could imagine to find in such an old building were all seen there. But in all, there was not a single cobweb. The place was scattered no doubt but it was without dust. All the items found inside were clean. Due to this fact that the place should be covered with dirt and cobwebs but wasn't, there was now a feeling that somebody was living in the house despite the oldness and untidiness of the inside."Are you thinking what I am thinking?" Alan said. And Byron answered as he believed they should all be thinking the same thing. "I think someone is really living here.""Should we wait for the person?" Quincy asked as he looked at the two of them."What do you think?" Byron now had to ask Alan because he had come to now welcome his suggestions, so he believed that he would have a good one."I'd say we wait out

    Chapter 196. A new era.

When the signing and positioning of the generals were done, four eldest men of Tadeas, one from each city each stood out to make the announcement of who the new king will be, for it was a tradition in Tadeas that the eldest men from each city will come together to put the crown on the head of every new king, and they will pray him before and after doing this, asking that the gods will grant them the wisdom to lead the country in the right and appropriate way that will be pleasing to the whole nation. So the elders held their hands together as they prayed for the crown and the throne, asking that it would not control the king but rather the king should control it. Afterwards, they called forth Dylan Ryan, who the whole people had gathered to watch him being crowned. While he walked up to meet these men, he looked at Gabriel and was surprised that he hadn't brought out the scepter yet, so his mind was beginning to calm down, as he inhaled and exhaled rapidly while climbing up to the thr

In the city of Mayca, at the house of Byron Haas, the message which Sebastian had sent by means of his raven bird got to the soldiers at the gate, and they took it out from the bird, letting it fly back to its city. They knew that every message that came to them by that means and pattern was for lord Byron Haas so they did not bother checking it to confirm who it was for before sending it to Byron, who was still making arrangements for the next day's event. "My lord, there is a message for you." The guard said as he came before Byron. Then she turned and looked at the soldier before asking, "Who is it from?""Lord Sebastian of Gilroy."Then he took the note from his hand to read its contents only to see the inscription that it was not for him, rather it was for Gabriel. So he said to the soldier that had brought. "Take this to Gabriel, he is the one it's for and not me." Then he took it as he confirmed whether it was for Gabriel, before apologizing. Chapter 194. Sensing failure.

In the city of Cyb, as the day for the coronation of Dylan Ryan drew closer than ever, that was the same his curiosity and anxiety grew the most. He was not as happy as he ought to be because he was still unable to figure out the plan which Byron and Gabriel had. Even though he had made sure his army was strong enough to defend him in case of violence, he still feared that there would not be any march for the plan that Byron had made. His greatest anger was that he had no power backing him up this time and even with the warning of the spirit of the witch, he still did not want to as she had told him. He was bent on winning by all means, but he could already sense failure in the plan he had made.Sensing failure was not still enough to tell him to give up the throne, a greater part of him was telling him that there was no plot against him being crowned king over Tadeas, because his spies had not brought any word telling him such, it was still a presumption in his heart there was a plan

Byron had to speak again, "For the last time, we don't have any plan of which we need your help for it to succeed. In short, there is no plan at all to stop the coronation. Since you and Monroe Howard have refused to come to the realization that Gabriel is the only king Tadeas should have at this point, then he would not fight for any throne. On the day of the coronation, as the country will match to watch Dylan Ryan ascend the throne, that is the same way Gabriel and I along with my men will match to witness the king who you have refused to oppose ascend the throne.""But I am telling you right here that I confess Gabriel as my king and I'm ready to do anything to make sure he ascends the throne in his father's stead."Then Gabriel chose to test him since he had made so much pleading and claims that he is now a new person. "To prove to me that you are not the same as you used to be, you will have to take me to the place where you buried my father. I am quite aware that it was you and

So Byron had to come in without allowing him to go further. "Yes, that reminds me, did you tell Monroe about it? And what was his response?""No, I did not tell him about this because he does not know anything about this, so I did not see the need to disturb him with it because he would not understand a signal word that will come from my mouth.""That means you literally have not done anything about what you know that will lead this country to its doom?""Yes. I did not do anything because there is nothing I can single handedly do. I asked for your help yet you did not consent to it. Meaning that you do not want to do anything about it so I also have to forget about doing anything concerning it. So that we will both watch the country be destroyed because that is what you want by not wanting to help me in confronting Dylan to forfeit his interest."Sebastian was really doing a great job at this point to convince Byron into believing that he was a changed person who would want to see Ga

Byron could see that Sebastian had a point in the two things that he had suspected concerning why they were there in his city, but none of them was correct, so he chose to tell him the reason why he had come into Gilroy but did not get to his house, whether he believes it or not. "Well, I do not doubt your thoughts. You are very justified to think that way but then I have to tell you that none of what you said is correct, nor is it even close to the true reason why we were in your lands.""Then speak up. Tell me why you were there and why you returned?""Of course I will. Actually, we were coming to speak to you, but not concerning what you told us. Instead, it is because of what we heard and needed to know the truth. But before we got to your house, we received word that the reason why we were coming there was already settled, so we had to turn around.""Lies! Pure lies.""It's not a lie.""Then prove it. Prove to me that what you have said about your reason to come into Gilroy is no

    Chapter 190. Quiting pretense.

Gabriel was not in haste to respond to him as he discerned what he was trying to do. He kept silent as those with him also realized what Monroe was trying to do and they could now see with their own eyes that Monroe deserved to pay for all that he had done.Just as Gabriel was finally about to say something in response to the question that Monroe had asked, Wagner entered into the hall again with the five men he had gone to call for Gabriel and his company."These are the men you seek?" Wagner said. All their attention shifted to theen that had been brought before them. Then Byron said as he suspected something far different from what Monroe had been telling them since they arrived there. "I know you very well Monroe, you are quick to anger and will never let such crime go unpunished, so tell me, why haven't you asked for the execution of these men?" Monroe was dumbfounded, even Wagner that had called them there, what Byron had said was exactly what Monroe Howard would do if he truly

The other people were still down, they did not bother stressing themselves to climb up with him because they knew that he would still come down and when he did, they would know what he was up to.As they saw him coming down with the rate he was using and Enoch following him, they blocked him from walking pass through as they predicted what he was about to do."Gabriel, not now. The right time for this is near." Byron said to him."Please, let me pass. Monroe has done more than enough to be forgiven.""But I just told you that he was not the one that sent his men to abduct me. They acted on their own will without hearing from their master." Abby reminded him of what she had told them earlier."You can never trust that man. Maybe it was a plan which he made with his men, even if it wasn't, he still wants me dead and I have to kill him before he kills me.""Yes, we know, but this is not time, let's give him a little more time to make amends and if he doesn't then we shall execute him."

Then they were happy, thinking that he had thought about what they told him concerning using Abby to get Gabriel to come there. So they stopped and looked at him."Untie her." He commanded. So they loosed the ropes used to tie her hands, also the blindfold was taken off including the mouth which had been covered. Then she could see lord Monroe Howard and she knew that he was innocent of the crime which his men had done because she had heard what he said to them. When she was now loose, Monroe said to her. "What is your name, young lady?""My name is Abby, my lord.""Abby, please forgive my men, they had acted stupidly. I did not give the order to bring you here, instead they had acted on their own will and I am greatly against it. They will take you back home safely. I am truly sorry for the stress it has put you through.""It's okay my lord. Thank you for not adhering to their suggestions. You have proved yourself to be a man of honor and good standard."
