Both girls stood frozen, their expressions a mixture of shock and disbelief. What had just transpired felt unreal.

Chu Wei's face darkened, his jaw tightening as he turned toward Meng Wu, who now stood near his fallen brother. His fingers clenched into fists, veins bulging at his temples. A deep rage boiled within him, enough to make him cough up blood.

“Good job.”

“Thanks, master.”

Meng Wu’s voice was calm, almost indifferent, as if betraying his own teammate was nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

The battle had taken an unexpected turn. The major threat—the one whose presence alone had kept Jackson and the two girls from being defeated—had been struck down. Due to the sudden disadvantage, they were struggling to process the situation.

Jackson, standing a few steps away, felt the tension crackling in the air like a live wire.

'What the hell... Betrayal in my sudden first mission?' He thought, cursing and regretting going to this mission. He should have listened to the people b

Jackson stood still, watching. He wasn’t heartless—Chu Wei, for all his faults, wasn’t a bad man. His death left a bitter taste in Jackson’s mouth. He let them cry, let them grieve. It would be stupid to waste this moment. These girls were strong, stronger than him in some ways, but they lacked experience, although a bit combat experience than him. He needed them to trust him. If they saw him as an ally, their survival chances would increase.Once they had calmed slightly, he spoke.“Right now, survival is our priority,” he said, his tone firm. “Brother Chu wouldn’t want us to waste time mourning when the enemy is still out there.”The girls sniffled but nodded.Jackson crouched beside Chu Wei’s body. His fingers curled into fists. He would have preferred to leave the corpse behind—it was too dangerous to carry a dead man—but there was another option.“We should give him a proper burial.”The girls, faces still streaked with tears, agreed. Carefully, they lifted Chu Wei’s lifeless for

The plan was simple—attack from afar, cause as much chaos as possible, and give Su Yan the opening she needed. A direct confrontation was out of the question. The wolves were too many, and their own strength was far from enough to take them head-on.Zhang Rou and Jackson had fashioned bows and arrows, wrapping the arrows in cloth and lighting them ablaze. With steady hands, they fired into the resting grounds of the wolves. The first few arrows found their marks, sinking into fur and flesh. Then, as more arrows rained down, the fire spread like a hungry beast, licking at the dry grass and setting the encampment ablaze.Howwwwwwl!A chorus of agonized howls filled the air. Wolves jerked awake, some writhing in pain as flames devoured them, while others ran, unknowingly spreading the fire further. The once-organized pack was now in complete disarray. It was time for the second phase. From the shadows, Su Yan struck. Moving like a phantom, she dashed into the pack, seizing several defens

The dense forest was alive with the scent of damp earth and rotting leaves. A faint mist curled between ancient, gnarled trees, their twisted branches clawing at the sky. Smoke mixed with the iron scent of blood, and the occasional wolf’s snarl echoed like a whisper of tornado.Near the ruined tents, a young man stood with an arrogant sneer. His fine robes were slightly disheveled, but his posture carried an air of untouchable superiority. This was Chu Wei’s brother, the so-called young master of a certain family or whatever.“Who dares?” he bellowed, his voice filled with fury. The night had already soured his mood—first, his brother’s body hasn't been found yet, and now, someone dared to attack his camp? The audacity!“Young master, don’t concern yourself. We’ll handle it.” His two bodyguards, both seasoned cultivators at the 5 stage of the Warrior Realm, stepped forward. Their eyes gleamed with vigilance, scanning the battlefield.“Hmph! Courting death!” the young master scoffed.

"But we don't want this bastard to walk free without consequences," the two women declared, their decision firm."Don't worry," he assured them. "I only meant to keep his life intact, but we can make his existence worse than death. Even Brother Chu would approve of that." Using Chu Wei's name to sway them was a calculated move, and it worked."Okay, you make the decision.""I'll make sure you won’t be disappointed."While the three of them were conversing, Chu Wei's brother repeatedly tried to win him over."What’s your name?" he asked in an authoritative tone, stepping closer."I am Chu Cheng. I will be the sole owner of Miracle Merchant after my father dies. I will—""Stop." His loud command cut through Chu Cheng’s words before he could finish, shutting down yet another desperate attempt to beg for his life."You see those two ladies over there? They are eager to torture you… and kill you.""Please save me!" Chu Cheng's voice quivered. "I saw that you can command them, so please, sa

But even if he does, he can't do anything.""Doesn't the president control every decision of your association? How can he be powerless?" The man's story was intriguing to Jackson who's adventurous life just started and he leaned in with growing interest."He is bedridden now, so most of the association is run by the vice president, who happens to be the president’s brother. He is a greedy man who corrupted our young master's mind.""Huh?" The revelation was unexpected."Our president is already old, so he can't perform daily activities. The vice president took this opportunity to push his own son forward as the next president. He was the one responsible for the banishment of Young Master Wei, and he planted all those ideas in Young Master Cheng's mind, pitting the two brothers against each other."The more he spoke, the crazier his claims became."What do yo

Inside the dimly lit tent, *Yang Min sat with his legs folded, attempting to meditate. Cultivating ki was one thing, but strengthening the mental state was another. In battles between cultivators of similar levels, experience, and talent, mental fortitude often determined the victor. He already went out and search all the bodies for anything important and after not finding anything important from the cultivators bodies neither did he succeeded in absorbing the ki from the cultivators. After some time, his eyes opened, and in front of him stood two beautiful young women, he didn't know how long they have been waiting for him. They were staring at him intently. "Is there something on my face?" Yang Min asked with a smile. The two girls shyly looked away."Thanks for helping us. Inside Su Yan's mind, a storm of emotions raged. She wrestled with herself, unsure whether to surrender to Yang Min's touch or push him away. The swirling black energy within the cage pulsed as the ancient being’s voice deepened. "Now, listen well. The Descent Formation requires three core components: the Celestial Conduit, the Soul-Link Catalyst, and the Universal Fracture Stone. Jackson furrowed his brows. "What are those?" "The Celestial Conduit acts as the bridge between dimensions. It must be inscribed with the blood of a powerful cultivator—ideally, someone at the Heavenly Saint Realm or above. A lesser cultivator’s blood will weaken the connection." "The Soul-Link Catalyst is a rare herb that binds your consciousness to your alternate self. It must be freshly harvested from a place steeped in spiritual energy, such as an ancient battlefield or a ancient sect’s sacred land." "And finally, the Universal Fracture Stone is the key to breaking through the dimensional veil. It is extremely rare and can only be found in the aftermath of a Celestial Tribulation—where the heavens have struck a being down with divine punis

Neither of us noticed that someone new had entered the room. She was a mature beauty, her long green locks and matching emerald eyes standing out effortlessly. Every curve of her body was accentuated by the tight-fitting dress she wore, exuding confidence and control. She stepped behind the counter, standing beside Aria. Since I was facing them directly, I was the first to notice her arrival."Hello," I greeted casually, already suspecting that she was the one behind the voice I’d heard earlier—the boss lady."Hello to you as well."
