Chapter 8

“We lost track of Mr. Sean, sir.” Damian stood with a slightly hunched back. His head was bowed, not daring to lift his face.

Luis, who heard him, appeared calm. However, anyone who knew him would know that the man was carrying a bomb within him. Slowly, Luis walked towards the corner of the room. There was a large vase containing several golf clubs.

His lips curled into a thin grin, but no one saw it because he was facing the wall. Luis took a golf club and traced it from end to end with his eyes. “So, you don't know Sean's whereabouts?” he asked softly, but with emphasis.

“Yes, sir,” Damian replied with a trembling voice. Occasionally, the corner of his eye glanced towards Luis to gauge the man's expression. Damian quickly bowed his head when Luis turned to him and now walked slowly towards him.

Luis stood right in front of Damian, causing Damian's body to break out in cold sweat. Damian had followed Luis for two years, so he knew how the man behaved. He would do anything to achieve his ambitions, even if it meant eliminating others.

Luis took a slight step back, creating distance between their bodies. He lifted Damian's chin with the golf club in his hand, lifting Damian's face and their eyes met. As if there were a huge boulder in his throat, Damian struggled to swallow his saliva. Luis's gaze was truly capable of crushing and shattering Damian's bones.

“Find him or your life is at stake.” Although spoken very softly, Luis's heavy voice managed to make Damian shiver.

“A-Alright, sir.”

In the evening, Sean cleaned Oscar's house. He sighed heavily several times upon seeing the piles of garbage. He wondered how Oscar had been living in a place that resembled a landfill.

“I wonder how you can live in such a dirty place?” Even though Sean had been cleaning for almost three hours, the place was still not clean. Food wrappers were scattered among Oscar's dirty clothes.

Oscar smiled upon hearing Sean's sarcastic remark. “If you mind, you don't have to clean it.”

“I can't stay in a dump.” Sean had finished separating the food wrappers and dirty clothes. He searched for a large plastic bag to use as a trash container, and he put the dirty clothes into the washing machine and started it.

Oscar, watching, felt a bit surprised. How could Sean be willing to do all that? For so long, he had been known as a young master who never did household chores. Oscar turned his body to face Sean. He looked very enthusiastic but had no intention of helping Sean clean up. He gripped the top of the chair's backrest with both hands and rested his chin there.

“It seems the Smith family has really succeeded in making Mr. Young Master Anderson do household chores,” teased Oscar. Sean just glanced lazily, ignoring Oscar's words. “Look, our lazy Young Master has become very diligent. He even made the floor shine again.”

“Shut up! Or I'll throw this mop at you? Your mouth talks too much, so it needs something to shut it,” Sean said irritably, unable to stand Oscar's constant teasing.

Oscar laughed at Sean's grumbling. It had been a long time since they had been like this, and there was a sense of nostalgia in his heart as it all came back. They had been close friends all this time. Even Oscar could know all of Sean's secrets because Sean trusted him so much.

“I'm going to bed. When will I ever have a young master house assistant?” Oscar shut down his laptop and closed it. He walked towards the bed and dropped his body on it.

He tilted his body towards Sean, supporting his head with one hand. “Finish all this work before you sleep! Do you understand, Adam?”

Sean narrowed his eyes upon hearing Oscar's more mocking tone. Feeling irritated and angry, Sean threw a full bottle of mineral water at Oscar. Oscar, who didn't expect Sean to do that, was caught off guard, and the bottle hit his nose and forehead. The man got up and yelled. “Damn you, Sean!”

Sean laughed at Oscar's anger. “Stop talking too much and you'll be safe. Hahaha….” Sean, who had finished mopping, carried the bucket and mop to the back. The place looked better after he had cleaned it for a few hours.

After showering, Sean opened Oscar's laptop and accessed a file. He took a book and pen from the corner of the table. He wrote down some important things he had gathered. His face looked very handsome when he was serious like that.

After a while, Sean examined his writing while occasionally glancing at the screen. He closed the book when he found no mistakes. Sean yawned, looking at the analog clock not far from him.

Sean stretched his tired body. He got up and walked towards Oscar. After moving Oscar's body slightly, Sean settled himself on the bed. There was only one bed in Oscar's house, so he had to share it with his friend.

Sean and Oscar stood in front of a large painting in the living room of Oscar's house. They looked at each other and nodded, as if signaling each other. They worked together to take down the painting.

Sean took the large hammer he had brought and started hitting the wall until it cracked and created a hole. Unsatisfied with just a small hole, Sean kept hitting the wall repeatedly until he created a large hole.

From the hole, a black safe with buttons on the front was visible. Sean entered a series of numbers that eventually opened the box. Oscar's mouth dropped open when he saw the contents of the safe, which were filled with gold bars and cash.

Sean had used Oscar's house to store some of his assets. Annoying as he was, Sean trusted that Oscar wasn't a greedy person. It was proven that even after two years, Oscar hadn't touched his assets at all.

Sean grabbed a bag and a suitcase. He put all the cash into the bag and all the gold bars into the suitcase.

“We have to leave this place immediately.” Sean walked ahead with the bag on his shoulder, and Oscar followed him, pulling the quite heavy suitcase.

They headed towards the trunk. Sean lifted the cover that was hiding something. A dusty red car was now in front of them. They opened the rear trunk and placed the bag and suitcase inside.

“Does the car's engine still work well?” Sean inserted the car key and started the car. However, the car didn't start right away because the engine hadn't been warmed up in a long time.

“I don't know. I used it about six months ago.” Oscar shrugged nonchalantly. He wasn't too fond of leaving the house. Especially now, everything could be ordered using a phone, so he didn't need to go out.

Sean sighed as he continued to try to start the car's engine. After a while, he succeeded. He warmed up the car's engine for a few moments and then drove the car away from the house.

“Let’s start the show.” Sean grinned. The new revenge show was about to begin. He couldn't wait to see the people who had destroyed him get their comeuppance.
