Robert laid on his bed, days had passed since he had been in the hotel. He had ordered a few new clothes, he hadn’t stepped his foot out of the hotel room, he was still planning on staying hidden, he did not want any of his in-laws to find him because they would drag him back.
He had been coming up with different ideals for the business, he had planned on buying a land and building a restaurant but he don’t know where to get a land that would in the particular place where the business would be booming and he also need a chef that would be in charge of the cooking. He don’t know anybody that is really good at getting the ideal land and a good chef, he rubbed his temple with his eyes closed lost in thoughts.Robert had written out parts of the food from the book, the ones he wants to be selling in his restaurant. He haven’t even found a name for the restaurant, a loud groan escaped his throat.“Shit!” he cussed in frustration, he didn’t know how to go about it. He was really lost on what to do.He glanced to his side to check the time on his digital clock, “07:00am” he muttered. He had been having his breakfast, lunch and dinner in his hotel room since he came. Today he decided to have a change. He sighed and put on a black hoodie, a black trouser and a black slippers. He pulled the hoodie over his head, his hands was buried deep in his trouser pocket, he came out of his hotel room and headed to the cafeteria. He walked with his head bent low, heading to the elevator, there were three people in the elevator, a man dressed in suit like he was headed for work, a woman was also dressed in a white blouse and a black pencil skirt, holding a black bag, while the last man was dressed in casual clothes and paying all his attention to his phone on his right hand that he didn’t even notice Robert walking inside. The elevator door closed and started moving down, it dinged at the first floor and then open, a lady was standing in front and she hurriedly entered, glancing at her watch, it was like she was running late.It finally reached the ground floor, Robert let out a sigh and stepped out of the elevator, heading for the cafeteria straight, walking with his head still bent low.He stopped immediately as he caught glimpse of someone, she looked really familiar, she was moping the floor, her face was turned sideways, he stared at the lady closely, thinking she wasn’t the same person he was thinking she is.He was about to turn away but the lady turned to look at him too, she squeezed her face, she couldn’t see the person who was staring at her weirdly, she frowned and was about to continue her work when the person started approaching her.She at first was about to scream “kidnapper” but no one in his right sense would attempt such in a place where there are people like this, so she decided to kick against the idea and see what the person wants to talk about.“Hazel?” she heard a voice call her name and she squeezed her face thinking of where she had heard that voice, it sounded so familiar. Her face lit up with a smile, her eyes widened in surprise, “Robert?” she called out in a loud whisper and he nodded his head, pulling down his hoodie for a brief minute for her to see his face and then bringing it over his face again.“Robert!” she called out again in surprise and dropped the mop, she gave him a big hug, pressing her body tightly on him, while Robert hands went just slightly above her waist and held her there.“Damn! I didn’t think I would be able to see you again” she said, with the smile still on her face.“Yeah, I didn’t think so too, is this your new pl—”“Aren’t you supposed to be walking now” a man who looked to be in his fifties said to Hazel as he approached the both of them, he seemed to be the manager and he have a pot belly.“I am sorry sir, I just saw a friend of mine that I thought I wouldn’t see again and was quite surprised” she said with a slight bow, she was shaking, quietly praying that the man would not fire her because he wore an angry expression on his face.Robert didn’t want what happened the last time to happen again, she got fired by his in-laws because of him, he didn’t want her to get fired in her new work because of him again, she might start seeing him as a bad luck to her so he decided to interfere.“I am sorry about that sir, I was the one that called her and distracted her from her work” Robert said, the man looked at him, sizing him from his head to his toe.“And who is this?" He asked Hazel, pointing to Robert. When Robert made enquiry about the rooms, he was told that the hotel rooms have different levels, depending on the one you can afford, the top floor is the most expensive and people that pay for a room there were considered as VVIPs and were treated as such, then the room that followed next was the fifth floor and it is the second most expensive rooms, people that pay for such rooms were taken as VIPs, while the fourth floor rooms is just a little below the VIPs room when it comes to price and the people that paid for such rooms were taken as important people. The third floor rooms was afforded by people who are just slightly above the average working person, while the second floor rooms was afforded by people of working class.Robert was occupying a room in the fourth floor so he isn't supposed to be treated as trash again."I am occupying room 426" he said with a frown on his face, though the manager could not see the expression on his face clearly due to the hoodie that was over his head. The first number (4) was for the number of the floor while the rest was the number of the room. The manger adjusted, "sorry for the rude treatment, you can carry on sir" the man apologized with a smile, bowed slightly before walking out.Robert turned and saw the surprised look on Hazel who was wondering who he really was."Which time do you close?" Robert asked, drawing her out of her thoughts."Oh! My shift would be over by 3pm" she replied."Once your shift is over, come and look for me in my room, I have something important to discuss with you. Continue with your work" he said with a smile and left her to continue with her work, while he headed to the cafeteria to eat his breakfast.Hazel looked at him as he disappeared into the cafeteria with her mouth opened in shock, something was quite different about this new Robert, he was quite bold compared to the one she knew at her former workplace. She continued with her work, praying for 3pm to reach quickly because she have tons of question for him.Robert sat with a smile, now that he thinks of it, Hazel is also a good cook, she might agree to the business proposal he have for her.The smile faded almost immediately, he didn't really know much of Hazel."Can I trust her?" He asked himself as he sipped the coffee he had ordered for. There is no way he can know until he actually tries her, she was still happy to see him, even though he had been the one that caused her to be fired by his in-laws.Robert scoffed, she was really a funny person, there was no harm in trying. She might even know where he can get the best land for his business."Can I trust her?" He asked himself once again, his elbow was placed on the table while his chin rested on the back of his hands.Robert woke up from his sleep, yawning and stretching, he heard a knock and he stood up wondering who might be there. He dragged his feet as he walked towards the door. He barely sleep in the afternoon like this at his in-laws house, except they have all gone out. He peeked from the door to check who was there, he opened it immediately he saw that it was none other than Hazel, he ushered her in and shut the door immediately after she had come in. She was no longer in the customized shirt of the hotel and the black skirt that stopped a little below her mid-thigh, she was now clad in a black top that stopped just above her belly button and a blue high waist ripped jeans, that hugged her body tightly, showing all her curves. She sat on the chair in the room while he sat on the one bed. “Should I order you anything?” Robert asked. “No” she said waving her hand. “Well, I have still got wine” he said and walked to the table, pouring some of the content from the bottle to the wine glass
Robert was all dressed up the next day, he was putting on a hoodie and a no0se mask to prevent anyone from recognizing him in the public and he was walking with a blonde haired guy, Liam. Liam is Hazel’s older brother, he is almost the same height as Robert, he was just like an inch or two shorter than Robert. “Ok, here we are, I’ve got a few more that are suitable for what my sister explained to me but let’s start with this one first” Liam said, standing with his hands holding his waist. Robert took a long look at the empty vast land before him, it was located in the streets. “Nah, I don’t want this one” Robert said after a long while, his hands were deep in his pockets. “Hazel told me you are an expert at stuff like this. I want to build a restaurant and I want the place where it will be more noticeable and be able to attract more customers. “Well, this is the cheapest but the least among the ones I have picked out for us to check out today. “How many have you picked out?” Rob
“Hundred million dollars?” Liam and lawyer Smith both asked in belief, they couldn’t believe their ears until he repeated it again. “Yes, hundred million dollars for this building” he affirmed and folded his hand across his chest looking at Mr. Jones awaiting his decision. “Hundred million dollars going…” Mr. Jones said and waited for a few minutes after getting no response from Sam who was gritting his teeth and folding his fist in anger. “Sold to Mr. Robert” Mr. Jones said and signaled for his lawyer to pull out the documents. “How can someone looking like a piece of trash as you be able to win over me in a bid over this house?” Sam asked angrily, walking to Robert with his fist folded and aiming for the latter’s head. He was fast and before anyone could react, Robert caught his punch in mid-air and turned to look at him with cold eyes. He twisted the arms, breaking some part of his bones, Sam let out a yell. He was surprised at how his day is turning horrible. He lost out som
Mr. Derrick saw that the rumors have been quelled completely, people are no longer talking again. Robert is no longer useful to him again, he was serving as a pawn before. To him in life it was either you use or you get used and he had gathered a few pawns and discarded them off once he knows that they have lack their usefulness. He had told his family that it was up to them to decide what they want to do with Robert if he decides to show up, they can either cast him off or keep on treating him as the trash he is but that was none of his business any longer. Every one of them was excited about it, Mrs. Alice and Cassy were the most happy about the news, they decided to keep him until they no longer have usefulness for him again. They love to see him despair, that look on his face as they crush him, always give them joy and it always make their heart leap excitedly. A huge sinister smile appeared on Cassy face, she was looking forward to teaching Robert that a dog should always be
It was 8 am, the Williams family were having their breakfast when they hear the sound of their doorbell. They ignored it at first, but it came again, they were all looking at each other. “Is anybody expecting anyone this early in the morning?” Dylan asked with a frown on his face. “I am not sure about that” Mr. Derrick said and went to sit on the couch with his legs crossed and a newspaper in his hand. “Davies go and get the door” Mr. Derrick said. “Why do I have to get it when we have a lot of people to do it in the house” Davies said with a scoff and continued eating his food. “Marie!!” Mrs. Alice called and a young lady putting on the black and white maids’ uniform came rushing in. “Ma, you called for me” she said with a bow.“Go and get the door” she said and Marie went immediately. “Oh! Mr. Robert good morning sir” The whole Williams family heard Marie’s voice loud and clear in the dining room and they turned their head immediately in surprise. “Do I have ear problems or
Robert quickly locked the window quietly and went to open the door, trying to fake a sleepy face. He saw Cassy standing in front of his door with a weird smile on her face. “Come and do my laundry now” She said and started walking back to her room. “Huh?” Robert asked wide eyed with surprise. “Don’t make me repeat myself” Robert kept on looking at her with shock, his mouth was opened down. Laundry by this time of the night? Robert wondered how she was this heartless. He sighed and followed behind her weakly. He couldn’t go the restaurant today and will go tomorrow unfailingly. He dragged his feet as he walked, he was clearly pissed but what could he do, he needed to bid his time, it was just a little amount of time before he gets what he wants. “Shit!” he cussed silently as he got to her room, she pointed to the clothes in the laundry basket and slumped on the bed.Robert carried the laundry basket and headed to the laundry room with a frown on his face. It’s not like he had any o
Robert sighed and wiped off the beads of sweat that had already formed on his forehead. Today is the last day of his punishment, nothing much had happened in the past few days. The penfolds restaurant was not making much of a progress, the income they made in the past few days were [poor. Robert continued moping the floor, this was the last room he is going to mop today. Cleaning the house for the past week had made him to become a clean freak that he could not bear to see a single stain on something, he would wash it off or clean it off immediately. Robert sighed and walked off to his room. He might have been married to Cassy for a couple of years now but they never acted like a couple for a single day and Robert was already used to it. She always treated him like trash but he always treated her like a stranger. Robert shirt was glued to his body due to sweats as he walked to his room and Cassy couldn’t help but steal a glance at his body and she looked at him with a furrowed eyebr
Robert walked into the restaurant with a hoodie on his head. The writing "PENFOLDS RESTAURANT" was hung on top of the building, the light inside was switched on making the writings to be shining. He pushed the door open and walked into the building, he sat at the far corner of the restaurant with a smile on his face. Though the restaurant is not filled up but they were quite alot of people here even though this is night time. He preferred being the CEO from the shadows, pulling the reins from the shadow for now, the CEO is left open though. Everyone was being told that the CEO is on a business trip somewhere else. The workers are not dumb, they had caught on that the CEO is probably trying to keep his or her identity and the person might be among them, unknowingly to them. Hazel is known as the manager and the one taking control of things for now. Robert knew that at least if he is not making much income, he is going to be making more than an average businessman in a week more tim
