Helix was catching his breath on top of the school. "I," he panted, "got," pant, "away." "Not for long," Phize responded. "What?" Helix asked. He saw Phize propelling himself using wind spells. Helix chanted, "Change cour-" "Oh, no you don’t." Phize was at the right altitude and ended his spells before Helix could interfere with them. He landed on the platform Helix stood in. Both of them stared at each other. "Why is it that when I try to feel his magic spell reach within my magic radius, I don’t feel anything? No mana at all," Phize wondered. He thought for a few seconds and came to a conclusion, "I got it." "What was your name again? I don’t recall introducing ourselves," he asked him. "Helix. Why?" "I see. Then, Helix, you can stop saying ‘Change course’ every now and then whenever you try to use your ability." "Because it’s not magic," Phize concluded. Helix thought, "Crap, he found out? No, no, maybe I’m assuming thin-" "Divine Blessing, was it?" Phize queried. "
Lili continued to scream from being burnt. She tried her best to set herself free from the burning chains but she was experiencing too much pain to truly focus on the task that she ended up failing.Hazel directed her sword at Braille."What should I do? No... What else can I do aside from beat this woman up?" Hazel thought. She looked at her sword."My sword won’t do. If she ever decides to heat it up, my hands are toast," she figured. She sighed. She cast a spell in her mind, "Storage Magic."A portal opened and she put her iron sword in it. The portal closed. She closed her eyes and imagined the structure of gloves."What material shall I use? It should definitely be an insulator. Wood? It’s hard and packs a punch but I don’t know how to shape its structure to be flexible for my fingers to move in. Cloth or rubber? Let’s go with rubber," she thought.A pair of rubber gloves fell out of thin air and she grabbed them. She wore them."Hang on, Lili, I’m coming," Hazel declared."Inter
Trif charged Helix and prepared a fist to his face. Helix rose his other hand and Trif’s fist halted. "What the-" "This is what we’re talking about." Helix’s forehead bled and the rest of his face was blistered and bruised but he paid no mind to it at all. Phize opened his hand and prepared a spell. "Sure, he may be able to change the spell’s direction but in close proximity, he shouldn’t be able to do that," he surmised. Trif on the other hand, was using his feet to push his fist forward. Helix focused on Trif, because despite the newly found application of his ability, since a person had loads of magic, it was rather challenging for him to move them to his will. Helix sweated loads from the stress and pressure he was put in. Phize cast a spell, "Ice Shard!" Helix took notice of his words and tilted his head to the left. An ice shard formed from Phize’s magic circle and almost pierced him. He punched Phize in the gut. "ACK!" Phize yelped. Trif punched Helix in the face.
"Taya... maybe now is the best time for you to give me an actual job instead of being a support," Qi requested."Fine, do whatever you want, just don't get in our way," Taya responded."Alright! Let's do this!" he cheered.Qi stepped from the side and confronted Leonard."Stop right there," he ordered him."Oh? What do we have here?" Leonard asked."Might possibly be accomplices of the children, don’t go easy on them, I’ve learned my lesson," Braille answered."Braille telling me not to go easy on these pipsqueaks? Then you people must be the real deal," Leonard commented.Qi took out his sword from its scabbard."I'm warning you.""I'll take you in your challenge," Leonard answered. On the other hand, Taya was slowly walking toward Braille."What is this girl's ability?" she wondered.Taya came to a halt then she noticed of those behind Braille."Hang on… Hazel? Lili? Is that you two?""Taya? Taya Vise?" Hazel asked."Taya? Who's that person?" Lili questioned."This is no time for a
Horka and Trod were inside the school. They were on the bottom floor, in their arms; they held the principal and his board director."Hey, Horka, where do you think we should drop the two?" Trod asked."We should ask them the situation first," Horka responded. He looked everywhere."Over there," he pointed to the third classroom from the entrance. Both headed to the door of the room and they entered inside. They made the principal and the board director sit on two vacant seats."Wh-Why?" Eauvis questioned.Horka and Trod noticed him speak."Why what?" Horka asked."Why did you bring us here? You two should've made a run for it. This is no place to be. Why did you two even come here?" Eauvis wondered."We'll answer your questions one at a time. We brought you here because we wanted to see what was going on with the school and figured that it was a safe haven," Horka answered."We came here because we felt like visiting. We also wondered when the Adventure Semester or if you can even ca
The dogs were approaching the girls as Qi ran back to them."Uhh, Lili, now what do we do? They're gonna crush us!" Hazel panicked."Less talk, more haste!" Taya replied. She cast two spells, "Swiftness. Strength."She grabbed her sledgehammer and ran at the number of devil dogs headed their way."Take this!" she yelled. She swung her sledgehammer gracefully and crushed the skulls of the dogs one by one. Lili felt adrenaline; she wanted to treat it like a killing competition."That's right! We can't let her beat us, Hazel!" she cheered.Crack.She grasped the neck of a devil dog and broke it."Th-This is brutal!" Hazel panicked."No use in worrying about that. Take your weapon or spell of choice and kill away!" Lili replied."U-Uh…""Hey, Taya, can you do me a short favor and create an iron sword for Hazel here?""What?" she asked.Three dogs jumped at her but she hit them all with a single strike. Their bodies fled to the left."Fine," she grunted. She chanted, "Create Iron Sword."A
"You got past my devil dogs? With so few scratches too, impressive… Braille's advice to not underestimate you were spot on," Leonard said."You people are still underestimating us, if you truly didn't, you would have attacked us while your dogs are attacking," Lili answered."Child, I'm afraid you've read me all wrong. Observation is essential to a fight and that's exactly what I've been doing. I keep a calm head at all times.""Leonard, I'll help you beat up this brat," Braille insisted."Braille, don't," Leonard refused."Why?""You'd only hold me back.""But-""Look at that girl."Braille did what she was told."What about her?" she asked."Can you see her expressions?" he questioned."Of course, I can! Why are you asking me these questions at this time?""You didn't look clearly, so I'll tell you what I see. What I see before me is a child who's intent on killing you.""Is that supposed to scare m-""I am a great judge of character, her expressions tell me that this is not the fir
Phize and Trif sat on the platform of the highest floor. They were resting. "Sheesh, when are the dogs gonna leave?" Phize grunted. "They'll get tired soon. They are still living things and as such they need to rest too," Trif answered. "Why don't we see what's happening down below and try to be aerial support?" "I'm not too sure of that idea; we don't know where Helix went. He may try to use our spells against them or us instead, so it's best not to do anything in the meanwhile." "Can't you do the thing where you cast an elemental spell before landing?" "Sorry, I can't, I've tried already. Only you can do it." "Guess we're stuck here, I wouldn't want to go solo. Speaking of which, I've gotten pretty low on mana, so I'm gonna pot up. How about you?" "Likewise. Magilation indeed does provide inhumane strength and elemental resistance but it chews away your mana bit by bit." "Yup." Phize chanted, "Storage Magic." A portal opened and he put his hand in it. He grabbed a flask wi
