"Uh, I got it back when I was a child," Phize hesitantly answered.
"Should I tell her? I don't think I should," he questions his train of thought.
She grabs his right arm and begins observing it.
"These look like a bite..." she says without any sense of personal space.
"Um, who are you?"
"Oh, me? My name is Pallitra Strata, what's your name?"
"My name is Phize Gratham Drestil."
"Woah! That's such a lengthy name," she says exasperating him instead.
"I know..." he thought.
"Nice to meet you then! I look forward to spending this year with you!"
"What a happy-go-lucky girl. Hold up, MY CHANCE!" he thought, snapping him back to his senses.
"U-U-Um, c-can you be my first friend?"
"Hm? What do you mean? We were always friends, weren't we?"
"Huh? Isn't she too angelic? LIKE WAY TOO ANGELIC?" he thought.
"Um..."
"Oh, I gotta finish my lunch first!"
"You haven't finished your lunch?"
He gives her a face of disappointment.
"What's with that face? I like enjoying my food. Hmph!" she says while pouting.
"She sure is a kid alright," he thought.
"Isn't 40 minutes a wee bit too much?"
"My mom just makes the best lunches! I just can't devour them instantly... so I just looked and smelled my food for 10 minutes straight!"
"Isn't that too long?" he thought.
Phize: And the remaining minutes?
"Eating!" she happily declares as she smiles.
"THE SHEER INNOCENCE OF A CHILD! IT MELTS MY HEART! URGH!" he thought.
He makes out a weird face in response to her angelic smile.
"What's with that face? Do you have a fever?"
"No, no, not really. HEY, CLASS STARTS IN A FEW MINUTES! EAT YOUR LUNCH!"
"Oh, you're right! Off I go!"
12:23 PM
Phize raises his hand.
"THE SUN IS A STAR!" he answers.
"Correct!" Hasha replies.
He sits down.
"For a school, I had totally convinced myself that this was a high school, but subjects other than magic seem so basic, I guess I really am in a kindergarten after all. Just a few different terms though," he thought.
"Psst!" Pallitra calls out.
He looks at her.
"Look! Look!" she excitedly shows her drawing with deformed figures representing two children, one boy and one girl holding hands.
"THOSE DRAWINGS LOOK SCARY! Alright, now be calm and ask her as a proper gentleman would," he proudly thought to himself.
"WHAT ARE THOSE DRAWINGS?!"
"Oops, I let my 5-year-old self get the best of me again," he thought.
"What do you mean? This is a symbol of our friendship! That's you and me! Hm hm," she smirks, "I have a knack for art don't you think?"
"Better rethink your dreams, girl," he abruptly cuts her.
"Oops, I let my reality-struck 20-year-old self get the best of me," he thought.
"Hey! That's mean!"
"Also, shouldn't you be listening to class?"
"Ehh? But I don't wanna!"
"You have to, or you won't be able to learn."
"But I already know this!" she affirms.
He grows irritated by her response, "THEN RECITE!!!"
"I'm bored..."
She slams her face on the desk.
"HEY! How about we play a ga-"
"No."
"What if I tell you it's educational?"
"No, thank you."
"I'm already well-versed in almost every subject there is," he reassured himself in thought.
"How about magi-"
"Tell me more."
"That was fast."
"TELL THE DETAILS QUICKLY BEFORE A TEACHER SEES US!" he hurriedly commands.
"Woah, woah, just chill out. All right, here's the plan! We each chant magic spells we know!"
"This'll be a short game," he positively replies.
"Quite overconfident, eh? Let's see about that. I'll take the liberty of being first then, hm, hmm!"
She clears her throat and prepares to chant a spell.
"Small Quake!"
The classroom vibrates very slowly.
"Water!"
A small amount of water is produced from his spell.
"Heal!"
Green magic particles come out from her hand.
"Blizzard!"
The classroom experiences a short breeze of cold wind.
"Fire!"
"FIRE?!" he gets alarmed in his mind.
"WAIT STO-"
No magic circle is formed on her right hand.
"I WIN!" he bravely broadcasts.
"I just didn't cast the magic cause I figured it might burn nearby appliances. Now, your turn."
"Wait, how can I know that you aren't faking it?" he asks in extreme doubt.
"Just take my word on this! Come on, come on, your turn!"
This play goes on for just a few minutes.
"Create Barrier!"
A small bump forms on her desk.
"Your turn!" she points.
"OH GOODNESS! I DIDN'T EXPECT HER TO KNOW THIS MANY MAGIC SPELLS! SHE... IS NOT AN ANGEL!" he thought.
He looks at her with suspicious eyes. But she smiles back in response.
"SHE'S A DEMON! IMPOSSIBLE!" he panics in thought.
He gulps.
"Oh no... I don't have any more spells. What should I do?" he distresses in his mind.
"What's wrong?" she smirks and gives out a smug, "Out of spells?"
"I REFUSE TO BE BEATEN BY A CHILD!" he thought in a prideful matter.
"Impossible! U-Uh..."
"If you don't say anything... I'll start counting."
"THINK! THINK! THINK! I GOT IT!" he thought while coming up with an idea.
"U-Um, I think I ran out of mana... so..."
"That's the same as admitting defeat, then."
"WHA? That's not fair."
"Well, remember what I did earlier? Just don't flow your mana then. You COULD do that right?" she says as she provided an extra emphasis on the word.
"Is it me or did her personality just go a complete 180?" he thought.
"I give in... You win..."
"I WIN!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he shouts in his own mind at trifling defeat.
1:00 PM
Hasha discusses, "Today is supposed to be our Combat Practice, but as such, it is only the first day of class, so for now, we will be dismissing early. Once all of you have learned enough concepts in magic, I will start teaching Combat Practice as soon as next week. And so with that, CLASS DISMISSED!"
"First day of class is over already, eh?"
He looks at Pallitra.
"Hey Pallit-" he instantaneously stopped himself while speaking.
She is snoring at her desk.
"Hmmmm. Better leave the sleeping, don't wanna ruin her beauty sleep," he thought.
Phize writes a note and puts it on her desk.
"'Did you enjoy your beauty sleep?' the perfect message..." he thought.
"Time to leave."
He goes outside the classroom door and goes down the stairs.
At the entrance, he sees Vhint waiting just outside.
"PHIZE!!!"
"DADDD!"
"Let's go home, for now, buddy. Did you manage to make friends already?"
"Hmm... Not friends, just one friend, but for now, that's more than enough for me."
Pallitra wakes up from her desk and Hasha approaches her to relay something.
"Huh? What subject is it?"
"Miss Strata, I'm afraid it's dismissal time already."
"Huh?"
END OF EPISODE 9
Vhint and Phize arrive home."Welcome back! How was the first day of school?" Lexia greets."Great!" Phize answered with excitement. She looks at his pants, it has holes from the earlier spell."Phize, what happened to your pants?" she asks worriedly."Oh my, I forgot all about them," he thought.Vhint looks clearly at Phize's pants."Oh ho, why didn't I notice that?" he questions himself."Phize, who did this to you? Is someone bullying you?" she questions him."As much as I'd like to tell them the truth, this time, I'd like to deal with this thing myself," he thought."Oh, I'm so sorry, mom, I just stumbled on some wires on the way. I'm so sorry...""It's okay, just do be careful next time 'kay? Speaking of which, did you make any friends?""HE DID!" Vhint butts in.He looks at Phize, "I bet it's a girl!""U-Uh... yeah, it is a girl.""LET'S GOOOOOOO! THAT'S MY BOY! I'M G
He is speechless from her sudden act."I didn't know she was so brave. She was really not what I expected her to be," he thought."B-But what about your lunch?""Hm, oh yeah... I'm FULL!""No, you aren't, you just had 1 or 2 bites, and you sacrificed it for my sake, I'm really sorry.""PFFT! BWAHAHAHAHHAHHA!""Eh?" he questioned in thought."Wh-Why? Why are you laughing?""Oh, s-sorry, AHAHH, I just found it funny. But a sandwich could not compare to my friend.""O-Oh. Thanks, for saving me anyway.""It's no problem. Now, shouldn't we go back to our seats?""Won't you get hungry?" he worriedly asks."Don't worry! I have a steel stomach! Nothing can pierce this," she bravely declares while pointing at her tummy.1:00 PMHer stomach growls fiercely."My stomach...""I figured it wasn't okay..." he thought.Hasha checks the time, "The subject for this time is... Combat
"Let's call it a draw," she declared as it is shown that her sword is pointed to his neck."I can be satisfied with that.""I ACTUALLY DID IT!" he celebrated."That was a beautiful use of magic, Phize, I'm sure I haven't taught those spells yet, but nevertheless, quite impressive," she praised him."For a kid, he's pretty cunning, I never expected him to do that. I let my guard down," her thoughts lingering."You may now put back your sword," she commands. He places his sword back into the sword stand and then proceeds to go back in line.Pallitra approaches him and whispers."You were awesome!""You have a knack for magic, I have to commend you for that," Hasha compliments."CAN'T WAIT TO TELL THESE TO MOM AND DAD!" he daydreams.Class finished after a few hours, and upon Vhint and Phize arriving home..."MOM, MOM, GUESS WHAT?""Hm?""I fought Ms. Hasha at our school today."Vhi
A month passes by.During class...2:00 PMHe perpends, "It's been more than a month ever since when I and Pallitra became best friends, and it's been a few weeks now that I've felt something weird about her. I feel fluffy and I feel like I want to hug her every day. I think I know what feeling this may be, but I don't wanna admit it."He calls out, "Pallitra!"She snores right at the moment he calls out to her."She slept again..." he fathoms. He taps her shoulder to try and wake her up."Yo, it's time to wake up."She wakes up."Eh? Is it time already?""Geez, how are you going to learn anything if you keep sleeping off?""Hehe, sorry, I'm sleepy every day," she sluggishly answers."I just noticed, but we've been best friends for more than a month but we haven't visited each other's houses yet. I should make her visit my house," he reasons out."Pallitra, wanna visit my house?"
A guy proclaims, "I heard that the Cursed Day is tomorrow." A girl replies, "REALLY? THEN I HAVE TO STAY AT HOME!" "That's just a rumor, don't believe him," another guy interrupts them. "IT'S TRUE! MY GRANDMOTHER SAID SO!" "Your grandmother is just wacko." There is a rumor going around that Cursed Day is near. What is Cursed Day? A week passes by. 11:10 PM Phize and Pallitra are eating their lunches in the cafeteria. Pallitra opens her mouth, "AAAAH!" "What are you doing?" He asks and then chomps on his food. "You're supposed to feed me." "W-WHA? B-BUT AREN'T WE TOO YOUNG TO DO THAT SORT OF THING? I-ISN'T THAT LIKE A KISS?" "Oh, sheesh, I won't let you kiss me unless we turn 16. I'll let you date me at 14. But you can feed me anytime!" she carelessly speaks out. "G-GEEZ!" He scoops some food on his spoon and looks at her. "B-Bottoms up!" "AHHH!" she opens her mouth. He brings the spoon close to her but it doesn't reach. "Huh? What are you doing?" "T-THIS IS EMBARRAS
The witches get out of their cabin. The third witch reprimands them, "Remember girls, don't hold back this time. Take as many children as you can. I bet I'll have more than Odenna here," she says as she points to the fourth witch."Oh, Tia. Is that a dare?" Odenna provokes. The sixth witch runs into the forest while they argue."Woah, Zagia already went ahead. WAIT FOR ME!" the first witch shouts. The rest of the witches run toward the forest. Meanwhile...Phize is scrolling through his wardrobe."What should I wear? Should I be formal? Should I just be normal?" he asks himself."This is the first time I've actually been nervous, picking clothes.""I need some help," he figured."Mommy! Can I have some help?""Oh, Phize. You should take a bath first. Don't worry, mommy and daddy have your back! Just go take a bath first!" she insisted."Thank you mom!"He goes inside the bathroom."I'm
It is very dark, barely anything can be made of. Phize slowly regains consciousness in the dark place. "W-What happened..." He notices something wet on his hand. "What is this wet thing?" He retracts his hand and looked at his hand stained with the liquid. He was shocked by what he saw. "Red," he examined. "Is this..." He inhales deeply only for him to end up covering his nose again from the stench. "It smells bad here... what's going on?" he asked. He examines his surroundings. "WHAT?!" Around him were children's skeletal remains, severed body parts, and large amounts of viscera scattered along the floor and walls. "PHH! BLEGH!" he barfs to have witnessed something so unsightly. He coughs. "THIS IS BAD! THIS IS REALLY BAD!" he panicked. He calms himself down, stands up, and explores the area to search for Pallitra. "PALLITRA!" "WAIT! I SHOULD LOWER MY VOICE! SOMEONE MIGHT HEAR ME," he thought. He whispers, "Pallitra. Where are you?" He digs through the corpses and
Hagah raises her index finger and places it near her mouth."Shhh. Take a seat down first."He reluctantly sits down on the old bed."You. You were the one who brought us here, didn't you? I remember. What's your reason for bringing us here?"She grabs a chair and gently sits down."Haydel, she was the mother of all the witches. Witches know most of the ancient magic that is born from this world and is also the creator of most of them. But people despised her power, so she was killed, and so were some of her children..."He wondered, "What is she talking about?""You were wondering why I brought you here, no?"He was surprised by her reaction."It is best to explain from the very beginning since I am very well aware that you would ask questions afterward. So listen carefully..." she continues explaining, "the main reason for our mother's decapitation was because of a certain spell, which is known as Perfect Immortality,
