Phize and Harris heard the strike and turned around. Phize questioned, "When did…" Both of them charged after Spellmaster. Spellmaster himself was reviving back. Trif dropped his sword, went to Lili, and princess carried her. "Wh-Wha?!" she yelped. Her tail went stiff. "We have to get you some place safe," he said. Then suddenly he felt weak. The effects of the spell wore off and he started breathing uneasily. "You don't need to," Lili told him. Trif slowly dropped her to the ground. "I-I'm sorry," Trif apologized as he dropped her again. He chanted, "Painless." "I feel weaker by the second. I need to make this quick. Thankfully, with Magilation I was able to stand up and even fight; else I would've been long dead with blood loss, internal bleeding, and with whatever medical complication I got," he surmised. "Teleportation," Spellmaster chanted. Zap. He teleported behind him and touched Trif. Phize cast a spell, "Weaken!" His magic radius connected with Spellmaster's.
"Interesting," Eauvis commented. "Yeah, it was supposed to be another name but then my parents changed it after they knew about my condition," Ortho stated. "Condition? What condition?" Ortho paused for a bit. "As I said, the Strata Clan was known for having these Divine Blessings, right? Well… surprise, surprise… this guy didn't get any. Instead, I got these frequent headaches." He continued, "For the first time in the history of the Strata Clan, this has been the first time in the famous family that someone didn't get one." "Well… how did your parents feel about it?" Eauvis questioned. "I think they believed in me. They trusted me that I had an ability, which is why they transferred me school after school in hopes of awakening that ability." "And how is it going?" Ortho went silent, got sad, and crawled himself up. "Nothing. Still nothing. All I have are these headaches that keep getting worse." He sobbed. "I can't live up to their expectations. I…" His tears continued
Ortho arrived by the school entrance and the guards let him in."Wh-What happened to me back there? Why did I suddenly faint?" he pondered."I feel like I had a dream."He tapped his forehead as he walked by the hallways."What? Why can't I remember it? Although with all that, one word can't seem to escape my head," he figured."Magic Network.""What is that?" he wondered. He shook his head and slapped his cheeks."No good! I have to keep myself in tip-top shape! But… I don't feel like going home today."…...He went to the Principal's Office and opened the door. From there, Eauvis greeted him with a wave. However, he experienced another headache and trembled down to the floor. Eauvis rushed to his aid."Easy there, easy there," he said to comfort him.He grabbed a glass of medicine pills and took one. He gave it to him."Here, gulp one."Ortho was about to reach for it until the pain grew worse and he fell unconscious once more."ORTHO?!" Eauvis panicked.Ortho tried his best to co
"Ever since that day, I have gone to practice my magic. I was able to surprise Eauvis every time with a new spell simply by accessing the Magic Network, although with the cost of a headache every time I did," Spellmaster recalled, "I slowly rose up the ranks and became one of the top students of the school. My classmates found me scary and were envious of my power, although, part of them apologized for their actions and admired me."…...Outside the school, Eauvis watched Ortho from away on a bench and he was casting spells."Solid Strike!"An area of ground rose from below and shot forward."It worked!""Thank goodness, I can manage to guess what the Flow of Mana for most of these spells I cast," he surmised.Eauvis clapped for him."Delightful!" he cheered.Ortho turned to him and smiled."Thanks, dad!"That short reaction was followed by another headache and he felt weak. Eauvis caught on and went to his aid."Now, don't push yourself too hard. You're making good progress.""G-Go
"We had a normal school day, just a normal discussion, and the teacher was relaying magic terms and theories. It was then that the Demon Lord's army appeared," Spellmaster recalled.Ortho and his classmates were in class. Right outside, a few blocks away, the Demon Lord's army marched having just defeated the soldiers which prevented unregistered entry. One of the leading generals held a flag with the symbol of a red devil with horns and waved them.Grendall received a message directly from the Universal Magic and Mages Research Facility. It was relayed to his mind."The Demon Lord's army passed through the border! Prepare for an ambush!"He was in the Principal's Office along with Eauvis. He went to the windows and took a glance and there, he saw the approaching horde. It composed of a mix of monsters, humans, and demihumans.Eauvis was busy dealing with the papers that he had not managed due to teaching and taking care of Ortho."Um, sir… we need to abort the students," Grendall adv
"CHARGE!!!" General Thima yelled. He along with the rest of his troops rushed in.The students pulled out their swords and swarmed the enemy forces. Ortho met up with Eauvis."That left eye… is really something else, isn't it?""Yeah, but it takes a toll on me whenever use it. It goes with a cooldown too.""After all this, father, I want to talk to you about something."He dashed off but then Eauvis yelled, "Wait."Ortho turned around."Shouldn't I be heading off into battle?""Hold on, I have a plan. We need to subdue our opponents as fast as possible and I know just the trick to do it. However… I need your help."…...The students and the army battled with their swords and spells. There were many casualties on both sides, but it leaned more on the students. As time progressed, the students were losing more and more. That was when Ortho stepped into the fights."Blindness!" he chanted. The spell affected a variety of opponents and was slashed by their necks in the next second."For
"Are you hearing yourself, boy? Do you wish to get caught in the peril of the ongoing war?" "I know what I said, and I wish to see its horrors." "Ah… let's talk later." They arrived at the demolished school. They could smell the lingering scent of blood partnered with the scent of dust and cement. The school was destroyed and was liable to collapse at any second. The bundle of corpses at the entrance and as well as the top floors did not help their case. A couple of students bawled their eyes out, some stared emptily at the red-stained floor, and some remained tough and talked to their friends who survived. "What a mess," Eauvis commented. He glanced at Ortho. "Can you stand?" he questioned. "Yes, I can," Ortho answered. Grendall deviated from the crowd and ran to the principal. "SIR!" "Grendall," Eauvis said calmly. "Sir, what do we do from here? The school is nothing but in pieces and how do we answer for the parents?" "…We tell them the truth. The Demon Lord Army got pas
"I and my surrogate father went on to explore more lands which featured great miseries," Spellmaster recalled, "We rode a carriage and made our first stop to Yato.""This is as far as I can take you," the coachman told Ortho and Eauvis as they got off the carriage, "I don't want to get involved with the Demon Lord's army, I have a family, y'see?""Don't worry, this distance is sufficient. We can walk the rest of the way," Eauvis answered."Thank you for understanding."The two set off into the developing city of Yato. Its construction was halted by colonialism. The unfinished buildings and factories were inhabited by the Demon Lord's army."How do we get past them?" Ortho asked.Eauvis chanted, "Storage Magic."Zap.A portal opened and he put his hand in it. He pulled out two brown leather cloaks. The portal closed."What are those?" Ortho curiously queried."These cloaks are as normal as it is.""How are normal cloaks supposed to help us in this situation?""The cloaks will only serv
Hello fans! Sorry for the wait. I have been especially busy with school and a lot of personal stuff happened too. I'm back in business!... or so I'd like to say but that hiatus made me a bit lax so I need to write more and more to recover my memories of where we left off and the speed of my typing. I apologize for having no updates upon the series for months. Please continue to give me your support, give your comments if you'd like, give your reviews, I'm all up for it. Without further ado, let's finally give an end to Phize's tale. We're about halfway through so please bear with me until then okay? Thank you for your continued support! And thank you for reading this far into the series!
Guys, I really apologize for not updating for so long. My parents do not allow me to write, and it's a lot harder especially since I'm in high school, so I have to focus a bit more on my studies. However, that doesn't mean I'm abandoning this series or the other, it's just on hold. I'm unsure if I can update at the same time as Mob, but I will try to update in summer as well, so please look forward to it. Please continue to follow my series and follow my twitter if you can. You can simply search my author name and it pops up. Thank you for understanding! And that is all for now!
That's it for now for the mass posting. I want to spend at least my New Year's by playing and doing dumb stuff and whatnot. So I will go on an indefinite hiatus once more. I will mass-post when I have enough. Thank you all for reading my story and for reaching it this far. I hope you continue to support me even when I am away. Don't forget to join my discord server (it's in the synopsis) if you want. Thank you all for your support and this is me signing off for the year! Have a great New Year!
"To make me say that would have to take a bit of convincing, I'm afraid," Phize stated."Not convinced after seeing my face?""Mmmm, nope. Anyway, have your parents visited you?""Just normal talk," he thought."Nope.""Why?""Busy on taking land domain. Both of them.""I seem to think I'm the only one with decent parents this time around," he thought."I see. Do you miss them?""Why are you here?" she asked."Yikes, she ignored my question. She must really hate me," he surmised, "I've got a long way ahead of me.""If you came here to interrogate me, I insist you get your eyes checked and get out of here. I might get infected by your miasma.""Can't back down. I have to set my status to be someone at least equal to her," he thought."Woah, calm down. Just wanted to get to know you better.""Well, I'm not willing.""We're going to be seeing each other for a few days or weeks to pass. You can't find yourself chatting with Qi or Trod only.""Ahem, I can choose who to speak with. It is so
"C-Cursed Child?" Taya asked as she got up."Please address me by my real name," Phize suggested."Hearing her say the name from her own mouth makes me feel like it's an insult. I rather her call me Phize," he thought."Wh-Where am I?""The doctors can answer that for you."They ambushed Taya. She asked all kinds of questions and so did the doctors."Don't let me regret my decision," Phize mumbled to himself. He left the room and peacefully walked in the hallways. He got lost in his own mind that he did not notice how much time passed by and how many medical personnel got past him."Hm… never imagined my thought process was capable of forming such inhumane thoughts."There was a slight halt to his speculation."Well, that might be the case when I do not refer to humans. She did not treat me like a human and as implied just now, she still does not. So, if she doesn't treat me like one… why do I have to treat her as such? I have no obligation to.""This is the path I chose. If I have to
Phize called for the doctors, and they scurried to the room.Once they entered, they saw that Vhint held Harris's hand and grasped it firmly. It almost seemed like the two were once close. The scenery could be interpreted as a person mourning the comatose of a dear best friend."Dad?" Phize asked with the arrival of the doctors.Vhint faced them with flowing tears."Did we… interrupt something?" Phize questioned."No, no…"Vhint stood up and stepped aside."Please… go ahead."The doctors surrounded Harris.Phize faced his father."Father… do you happen to know Harris? Were you close with him?"Vhint made an obvious excuse. The time it took to get the answer hinted at it."… I'm just an empathetic person. When I saw how badly injured he was, it made me cry. How a person went through such pain… makes me feel pity.""I can tell what he said was a half-truth. But even so, that reasoning of his is very endearing, and it is obvious he still has some demons to fight. I will respect that," Ph
Welson was inside the room he entered. He stared blankly at the book that was on top of the desk."Phize… Gratham… Drestil… that kid… how could I ever forget his face?"He remembered the time he kept punching his face 7 years ago."My daughter… I already accepted that it wasn't your fault. I already knew the truth by then. But why… why did you have to get involved with my son… OF ALL PEOPLE?!"He banged the desk. His breathing began to increase in frequency. This, later on, calmed down."How am I supposed to think you're innocent when you downright kill him?"He felt conflicted. He put his head on the book and placed his hands on top of his head.He whispered, "… Stop haunting me… Leave me alone… Why did you have to interfere… Get out of my head… Get out of my head… Get out of my head… Get out of my head… Get out of my head… Get out of my head…"He kept on muttering the same phrase over and over again, steadily increasing in tone and volume."Get out of my head… Get out of my head… GE
The children at the beach were playing with a ball. It was very reminiscent of the last happy memory he ever formed back in the past world. … .. . 25 years ago, in Germany. It was a very snowy day. There was a young boy who held the hands of his parents. He was stepping playfully on the snow that formed at their feet. All of them had red beanies and brown boots. His parents wore brown trenches and blue-green gloves, while the little kid had a thick blue sweater and green mittens just right for his size. The kid counted his steps. "One, two, three, four…" The family arrived at a park. There, they met up with another family who also had their son. They had similar attire. They nudged their son. "Come on, Ansgar." The parents of the first and second families met up, leaving the two children be. "U-Uh, 'sup," Ansgar answered nervously. "Hm? Why so nervous?" the other child asked. "I mean, seeing each other after school still really strikes me as odd… so…" "Ah, is that so…
On top of a tall and flat building, there was a man who had blonde hair, and brown eyes and wore a clear white robe that extended from his shoulders to his legs. He wore a necklace shaped like a diamond with a star in the middle, and in the middle of that star was an eye, made of metal. He kept watch over the city below."Such beautiful scenery…" he uttered.A man in a thick cream and brown robe approached him, who also wore the same necklace whispered into his ear."Mhm… Mhm… What? Wait, what? Could you repeat that again? You can speak up, we are the only ones here," he permitted. The man took a few steps back and cleared his throat."Ehem… I have received leaks from the mouths of the Alganists. According to what I have heard, they declared that Spellmaster was dead and that they were cheering because they were on their way to conquering the minds of the people.""Wh-What is the meaning of this?! Spellmaster… is dead? Is that information accurate?""It has been confirmed by two such
