He was going to play fair, Kied decided, Novic was out of cosmic beasts so using Hypernox would seem like he was "cheating". He wanted to win fair and square, and to make his wish come true he was going to make things even - something which Novic wouldn't consider doing in a thousand lifetimes.
Equivax's palms fell upon the ideoideograms ushering them into calculated combinations, he structured commands which were sent to the Aegis' not so centralized system, because for Kied and from experience, anything centralized was not fluid and Kied's definition of supremacy was being volatile and fluid. Those massive, armoured cannons numbering hundreds emerged from the Aegis' basements, taking aim at the Zark's attacking army, unleashing a storm of halos upon them. He didn't just say hail, did he ? Kied smiled as a now devolved Hypernox landed on his left shoulder, now an eagle. He hoped that Equivax hadn't forgotten his other toy, he was just joking, Hypernox reading his mind cooed delightfully, knowing from experience that Equivax was a database himself. Those savage whirring sounds erupted from all corners as those metallic boomerangs emerged, each bearing four mighty blades, they poured out of the Aegis' armour, spinning, they sliced their way through the distance, aiming at no other direction other than the enemy's. That was what he meant by hail and blades, Kied sighed satisfactorily, stroking Hypernox on the head, he fed him another ball of fire. The collision was chaotic as both blades and cannons cut through the Zark's fleet. Novic stared petrified, seeing the firepower which Kied's cannons possessed, but his fear soon turned into rage as he ordered another volley of halos upon Kied's battleship. As always, they came with all the fury and might the Zark's battleships could offer making the atmosphere steam. His grin not twitching one bit, kied clicked his thumb, enacting a forcefield around the Aegis. The halos fell upon this shield like a maddened thunderstorm, exploding, they made their deadly impact - to flames - consume Kied and his battleship. But was that all Zark Novic could give ? If it was, then it just wasn't enough. The flames burnt out unveiling an unscratched battleship and a grinning Kied before the Zark's army. "I thought for one moment Hypernox", Kied intoned, "that we were finished" Hypernox cooed flapping his wings. "That means our work isn't done yet" A high pitched screech arose from Hypernox's roaring beak, affirmating Kied's statement. "Anchors !" Novic yelled. They thought capturing his ship with anchors would do any good, Kied grinned to the thought. Maybe another session would teach the old Zark the same lesson, what a boring way to live, Kied reasoned, yawning to himself. "Equivax", he called again, "hail and blades" The cannons recharged themselves for another volley of halos with the bladed boomerangs tearing out from the ship's armour. Both fell upon the sailing anchors which had been released from Novic's cannons, tearing straight for Kied's ship. That explosion erupted towering high into the sky, the impact blew past Kied making his hair flutter. The fiery storm cleared away unveiling Novic's frustrated countenance, a pleasurable sight indeed. "Equivax", Kied summoned, "clear the way for a head-on battle" "Lead the way Kied", Equivax replied from within. The ranks of cannons retracted back into the Aegis, so did the boomerangs which swirled around, clasping onto its armour. Seeing this Novic became fired with a desire to have his pound of flesh. If Kied was retreating then he wouldn't let him get away without leaving a mark, an injury that would make him regret thwarting his well laid plans. "Attack !" Novic ordered. His now leftover ranks of battleships and carpets charged at the Aegis, ready for a head-on collision. "Infantry take your places !" His marksmen with their laser crossbows took their positions on the battlecarpets, taking aim at the Aegis, especially at Kied. "Cannons charge !" The cannons emerged from his battleships' armour, preparing to unleash another fusillade of halos. "Chariots forward !" The interstellar chariots zoomed through the distance, their bladed wings tore open, slicing through the air. "Fire !" At his command that storm of laser beams and halos came crashing upon the Aegis. Hypernox flapped his wings, a sign of defiance, daring the Zark's army to do their worst. Unfazed by the storm neither, Kied wasn't ready to raise the shield, he had said something earlier, didn't he ? Something about clearing the way for a head-on battle. And that was exactly what he wanted to do. "Equivax, into battle", he ordered. The Aegis charged forward, launching itself into that storm of halos and laser beams which fell and bounced off harmlessly from its armour, rapidly closing the distance between it and the advancing Zolastran fleet. Novic had been taken aback by Kied's move, he had expected him to retreat, but that was something Kied never did, especially when he had unfinished "issues" to solve. "Matters" like these which mattered most to him. "Fire !" Novic flared, ordering another storm of halos upon the attacking Aegis. Kied stared fearlessly, watching the halos and beams fly past him and his ship. Those that struck its armour didn't even make a dent in its structure. He enjoyed watching them try, seeing their efforts amount to nothing gave him a bit of satisfaction, but he wanted to be fully satisfied in knowing that not only had he come in the way of Novic achieve his motive, he had also taken his revenge upon the Zark. Closing his eyes for the first time, Kied's grin faded away and a burning tear rolled down his left cheek, the hidden part of his face. Never, they weren't ever going to see his tears, he had learnt over time to keep his emotions tame especially during battle. The wounds were still fresh, a wound which wasn't caused by a blade or a dagger, it was a wound which had taken its place within him through experience. He preferred battle wounds to such injuries, it was a never ending stabbing spree which made him go mad with heat and fury, and the Zark had a hand in it, so today, he was going to pay dearly for what he had done. That grin etched itself on his lips again, making his right and exposed eye glisten in its dark intensity. As halos and beams whizzed by, Kied took in the air allowing the heat of battle sink deep into his lungs, he wanted it to course its way through his entire being, he wanted to feel it's sensations underneath the hardened soles of his feet, he wanted it to be him, he wanted to be the battle. "Hypernox", he said, "prepare for chaos"The Aegis struck upon the Zark's army, its titanic and rugged blades lining its sides cut through the armour of the battleships and carpets, leaving them in a haze of exploding summits. The cries arose, cries of agony and death, but Kied wasn't done yet, it wasn't over until it was all over, this wasn't the end, it was just a prelude to the endgame, and he was prepared to make it a grand sight, one which the Zark would never forget. Surveying the battleships around him as the Aegis went on it's massive spree of destruction, Kied could see the Zolastran soldiers taking their positions from battleships which were beyond the reach of the Aegis. "Puppets !" Kied blurted "they didn't ever learn to never serve a cosmic lord" Hypernox screeched his reply. "That's right Hypernox", he said, "I think it's time we take this to the talons and blades" Novic stared anxiously, his heart dangling from his jaws as he watched Kied's battleship, the Aegis, smash through the ranks of his f
The battlements of this stellar-city was fallen with the wreckage and destruction unleashed upon it making its massive stellar mansions mountains of flames, flag bearers of an ongoing apocalypse. The interstellar warships tore their way through the distance unleashing halos upon everything standing in their way, their black flags bearing the emblem of a wolf, as they plundered and lay to waste this once harmonious civilization. Ler Edzak stared proudly at his newly acquired territory, it was worth the taking, both economically and strategically aligned for military purposes. And the final reason made it priceless, one which he just couldn't help but smack his lips. One by one he was going to bring all the cores together.**************************** His hands gripped his head as he screamed within that cerulean sphere, he couldn't help it, the dark energy amassing within him had just gotten too much that he could not longer control. He felt those deep and dark cracks etch
Hypernox howled to the cosmic skies making it quake with thunder, while Equivax frayed into the air, his being reintegrating within the command centre of the Aegis. Taking the helm of the ship's, he created those geometric configurations, preparing it for an assault. "Hypernox", Kied called, "it's high time we had gotten you charged for your evolution." Hypernox howled to the thought, his voice piercing the thunderous skies. Edzak blocked his ears with his palms, that annoying scum ball, how could Kied withstand the sound of that thing ? When it wasn't roaring it was howling, when it wasn't doing either it was screeching. Well Kied was his master, a master as horrible as his annoying pet. Regaining his hearing, Edzak stared at Kied who was preparing for an assault upon his fleet. If it were during their previous encounters, he would have retreated without any hesitation, he wasn't as bullheaded and aggressive as Novic. But this was priceless to him, and he wasn't going to
Hypernox descended heralded by a sea of enflamed halos which struck through Edzak's army of cosmic beasts, wiping them out rank after rank, sending them burning to ash. Edzak's fists tightened as he stared at Kied whose hypnotic gaze was still in him, grinning and daring him to bring more. And truth be told, his entire army of cosmic beasts had been wiped out, all he had left was his fleet. He nevertheless wasn't backing away so soon. "Attack !" Edzak ordered. The first wave of battleships charged at the Aegis, ready to take it down. Hypernox now an eagle landed on Kied's shoulder, staring fearlessly at the assaulting army. "Well done Hypernox", Kied said stroking his head, making him coo. "Equivax", Kied summoned, "hail and blades." Both cannons and bladed boomerangs arrayed themselves and cut their way through Edzak's army. The cannons opened fire upon them, wiping out rank after rank with each volley of halos, and it never stopped coming until the battleships
FIFTEEN MONTHS EARLIER ... His feet were numb and his being quivered in pain as he made his way across this mountainous terrain, he was worn out and his mind's focus was waning, but he just couldn't stop. The turbulence arose from behind him, and those exploding sounds made the earth quake. Trying to quicken his pace - a futile effort though - he managed to keep going, his heart pounding in his chest. That halo fell behind him a few yards away, ducking behind a boulder he allowed the explosion blow past, then rising onto his feet again, he continued the run. Another volley fell from behind, with solid structure to take cover with, the explosion swept him off his feet sending him crashing to ear. His dark armour now worn and torn, he stripped it off, now left with only a dark pair of clothes, having done this he resumed his run. Those interstellar chariots, five in all, emerged from behind, they chased after him. Knowing that he had been spotted, he forced himself onwards.
Henry sat in the second chair after the school bus' door, his head resting on the wound up window. He saw his "rival" approaching, better still, marching, and that nosy boy running after her from behind. She leapt into the bus, her gaze met his then turned to his seat, she growled, walking away she took her seat at the back of the bus. Then came the boy who scuffled into the bus, pausing he stared at Judith and back at Henry. "Now I get it !" He exclaimed, the furious look on Judith's face making him grin mischievously. He took his seat beside Henry. "Hello, I'm James," he began, smiling at Henry who just stared outside through the window. "You really broke the record today, beating the best student in Physics - who happens to be my sister - to the number one spot, teaching old Sam to not be naughty, and sitting in your rival's favorite chair. You're not only taking her title, you're also taking her brother and her seat, guess what you'll be taking next ?" James paused, Henry
Sitting down at that table, this family of four dug into their dinner. "There's a new family in the neighborhood," Mrs John said, her knife cutting through her beef. "When did they move in ?" Mr john asked.. "About a week ago," the woman replied. "Oh, you mean Mr and Mrs Kayode," James interrupted, a mischievous smile stealing his face as he stared at Judith. "You know them ?" James'father asked surprised. "Yes I do," James replied with an air of importance, "they even have a boy called Henry." "Mhm", sounded his mother, "what school does he attend ?" "Our school", James revealed, "he's even in the same class with Judith and me." "So he's your classmate isn't that right Judith ?" Their father tagged. She ate on silently not wanting to reply, seething inwardly at how stupid her brother could be at times. What did James think he was trying to prove? That she ... Oh ! She couldn't even say the word, a five foot three boy with a five foot eight girl, what a h
Vage Verzak stared at this imperial army from the bow of his interstellar battleship - the Talon. Their flags fluttering dauntlessly, prepared to unleash an assault upon his paradimensional cosmic arcade, how they had found it wasn't his concern, what mattered to Vage was making them regret ever battling with him. "Calk Xan never gets tired of fooling around with his meaningless schemes of taking me down," Vage said to Rode - his red panther lying besides him. Rode purred, his paw covering his yawning jaws. "I can see that you're getting bored with teaching a dumb feudal lord the same lessons over and over again. It could be annoying Rode, but it's worth being termed as a light workout." Rode purred excitedly as he rose on all fours. "Now let's see what card Calk Xan is going to dole out first", Vage said combing his beard with his fingers, "unlike him, I am a noble fighter and always play fair, giving my opponent the opportunity to choose his cards wisely." Rode gr
