The giant apparition that the assassin had materialized charged forward with her and with the shield placed in front of its chest, it was like a bull charging forward with powerful momentum. In an instant, the apparition collided with the pursuers in front. Anybody that came in contact with it was knocked flying back, spitting out a long trail of red blood that dyed the surrounding walls and floor red.
By this time, some of the pursuers had already come to their senses, but it was already too late. They stared in shock and horror as their comrades were sent flying and spitting blood from a single blow.
None of them ever expected the assassin to hold such a powerful card in her hands, and she had kept it hidden until now to deal a powerful blow to them.
"Damn it, we were too careless!" one of the pursuers gritted his teeth in anger as he complained.
"Quick... stop her! She is heading for the control room!"
Immediately, this command was given. The re
This sudden burst of strength seemed to exert a great toll on the assassin because after she sent her pursuers flying, she also collapsed on the ground and spat a mouth full of blood. The giant apparition above her also seemed to become faint, as if it was about to disappear. It seemed like the assassin had fainted after losing her strength, but looking closely, one could actually see her breathing shallowly on the ground as she tried to catch her breath and gather strength back into her limbs.Although it might seem that the giant apparition was going to disappear completely, it still stay over the assassin, stubbornly protecting her from anything that may bring harm to her.The squad was watching everything that was going on outside, and they had caught a brief look at the assassin once before she was covered by the giant apparition. But they had not gotten a clear look at her as she was being surrounded by two pursuers then. The squad members saw how t
When Max said those last words, some of the squad members actually hesitated because it made sense. If Trapp was really the person who was fighting outside and he was so powerful, how could it be easy for Max to scheme against him and send him to another side of the base? It didn't make sense that such a powerful person would be able to trick like that. Some people were confused by this, but others didn't think much about it. They still looked at Max and were blaming him for the current problem. "Maybe he was fooled because he didn't expect you to meet a petty and foolish person like you," somebody said. "I mean, think about it. We have already been promised a lot of benefits to allow Trapp to join us in this mission. The benefits are even almost equal to the rewards we will get from this mission and all we have to do is let a single person join us and tolerate him for a while. If you were the one involved in this, you wouldn't expect to meet a person
With various worries in his heart, the leader decided to end this matter here quickly before it got out of hand."Listen, now is not the time to deal with this now. We can settle who is at fault later, but right now we need to make sure we aren't discovered and we can complete the mission without any problems developing. Do you hear me, all of you?"The leader shot a piercing glare at all the people that were causing trouble. His tone revoked any chance for disobedience and he exerted his authority as the leader to completely end this topic. None of the squad members dared to disobey the leader because he still held a lot of prestige among the squad members and they respected him very much. They simply lowered their heads and said nothing after that.Seeing as the matter had come to an end, the leader was pleased.Nodding his head, his expression became serious once more before he started addressing a more important issue."What are we going to do
Until the assassin's figure disappeared into the other side of the door, the squad members stared silently in disbelief. They were amazed at the tenacity that she showed as she trudged forward without stopping in pursuit of her goal.Even at the end, the squad members could still not confirm if it was Trapp or another person they were watching. But they were clear of one thing...Whoever it was, they were very formidable, and it wouldn't be good to have him as an enemy. This was the impression the assassin had left on the squad and it was embedded deep within them. Finally, after the assassin could no longer be seen, the leader eventually spoke to Nina again and asked, "What about the guards... how are they doing now?"Nina quickly stopped paying attention to the assassin when the leader asked this question. She was also looking for a clear angle to determine the state of the guards. The smoke and dust in the air were clearly steadily, so it didn't
Trapp was hiding in a corner and he didn't make any moves at all as he silently watched everything before him. When Trapp and the scout arrived, the assassin and her pursuers were already at the decisive moment of their battle. The assassin had just condensed the giant apparition and used it to critically injure a few of her pursuers after catching them off guard. As the assassin was being pursued, most of the guards and soldiers on the bases had been sent to deal with her. They were ordered to capture her if possible and if not; they were instructed to kill her. While she was being chased, the number of enemies she had to deal with was much more than the twenty or so pursuers that were on her tail at the end. Most of the people who had gone to intercept the assassin had been killed by her after underestimating her. Their bodies were left to grow cold on the ground as the assassin ran away. Nobody stopped to take care of them and they were completely ignored.
A few of the guards were still awake when the squad members moved out to kill them. They were just severely injured and weak, so they couldn't move. When the squad members appeared, these guards wanted to resist, but they were badly wounded to do anything and ended up getting killed.Everything ended almost immediately. As soon as the squad members moved, they killed all the guards lying on the ground. Not many of them put up any resistance, and those that did were immediately dispatched before they could cause any trouble. After they were done, the place fell silent once again.Once everything was done, the leader nodded at the rest of the members and then took the lead and went to the open door. Standing in front of the door, the leader felt a sense of irony, like somebody was playing a joke on him and laughing at him behind his back. It was because this door that had given his team a lot of trouble was finally opened, but they were not the first ones to pass through
"Is it reinforcements?" Trapp asked himself."No, it doesn't look like it is...""Why do these people look very familiar?" Trapp looked at the approaching group and asked himself. When Trapp wanted to follow the previous squad through the door and towards the control room, he suddenly stopped short because he noticed movement coming from one of the corridors in the hall.To be more accurate, Trapp had not yet seen them but because his senses were extended to a great distance away from him, which was how he monitored his surroundings, Trapp could already hear that people were coming before they even arrived. That is why he went back into hiding.Trapp decided to wait and see who was approaching before deciding on what to do. Although he could not yet see them, so he didn't know who was coming, Trapp could still roughly make guesses on their identity based on what he heard.Listening carefully, Trapp knew that there were multiple people headin
Right before Trapp's eye, the second squad was forced to enter the door leading to the control room by the reinforcements. At this point, the squad was in a very sorry state...Previously, they had already suffered some injuries before, when they had been captured after Trapp's earlier rampage. although they managed to recover a little, they were currently much worse off than when Trapp had last seen them. The squad seemed to have suffered some casualties, as they were missing a few members. The original squad of about twenty members was now down to less than fifteen, and these members were in an incredibly bad state.Out of all of them, the leader's situation was the worst as one of his shoulders was missing an arm and there was only a stump that was roughly bandaged and soaked red in blood. The leader's face was pale, which was a sign that he had lost a lot of blood and there was a large bloody gash on his chest. As they ran, the leader could only grit his tee
