He wanted his mother to be safe and he knew that she will not be safe with him around. He was not about to go with Dr. Edward so he had to figure something out and fast. He looked around again and all the police in the area where no longer firing their guns at him, some of them where injured while the rest had no bullets left in their guns. He looked at his mother one last time and then ran away. He left the street and the area. Derick knew that they will not hurt his mother because they are the police and she was better off with them than with him. Derick did not want things to get out of hand and he did not want lose Celia now he was with her, he tried to figure out what to do to make the men leave them but he could not think of anything. The men were still walking towards them and Derick looked behind and Celia was still there, she looked scared. He knew that taking on the men was not a problem but he did not want to have another outburst of rage. He wanted to tell Celia to run away so he could handle the men but he was not sure if she will run far away and leave him. Then as he was thinking, one of the man hit him with an iron rod on his head. Derick fell on the floor. He started to feel dizzy, he started to bleed from his mouth. He did not understand what was going on, that hit was not supposed to affect him or even make him bleed. He has not felt this weak since the chemical came into his body. Derick started to get himself back, he sat up and Celia shifted a bit away from him. “I know all this seem a bit too much for you to understand right now but I promise you, just follow me and I will explained the best I can to you and maybe you can also help me.” Derick said to Celia. Celia knew that her father was involved with Derick somehow and she had to figure out how. With everything that was going on, Celia was frustrated. Derick’s bullet wound healed completely, now it was just a whole in his shirt. He tried to stand up but he was still weak, he has not gotten all his strength back. Derick stood up from his chair, “Where is your kitchen?” He asked John. John did not understand why Derick asked where the kitchen was but he just replied, “It is right there.” John pointed at the kitchen. “Thanks.” Derick went to the kitchen leaving Celia and John alone in the living room. John and Celia looked at each other as they wondered why Derick went to the kitchen but as their eyes met they immediately removed their face from facing each other. Celia could tell that John did not like her but she did not care about that, she had never cared about what other people thought about her and definitely not now that she was going through a crises. And John did not like her because he never liked her behavior in school and with the prank she played on Derick confirmed it for him that she was not a good person. As the water from the shower went down her body, the dirts on her body washed off. She felt calm and relaxed but she did not know why. She thought about what John said about her when she left the living room but the thought went away because she did not care about it. But she did not blame them for not trusting her, she understood why. She now understand everything that was going on, why her father is on the run and also about the chemical. But she still wanted to see her father, she wanted to talk to him so he can stop all these before things gets out of control or before he ends up killing someone. She knew that if she stay with Derick, eventually her father will come for him and she will meet him, because after all Derick is with his chemical. Celia finished her food and dropped her plate on the table in front of her. John and Derick were surprised with how fast she finished the food, they understood that she was really hungry. “While we wait for my father I think I know someone that we can go to, he could try to help us figure out what is wrong with you.” Celia said. “Who is he? And why are you only telling us now?” John asked. “He is a scientist, my godfather.” Celia replied. “So another scientist now, how many scientist will get involved? And who knows if he will be like your father or Dr. Edward.” “No, he is not like that. He is different. His goal is find cures for most human diseases. He is not driven by the any ambition or anything like that, if is genuinely good. “I need you help uncle ben, it is really important.” Celia said “Come in quickly.” Ben said. Ben opened the door fully and Celia, John and Derick entered the house. They were now in the house, and the interior was even more impressive. There were few furnitures, almost everything in the house was white including the walls. The house was spotless, there was no sign of dirt anyway. Ben went to a corner and started removing his masks and goggles. “Remove your shoes there and washed your hands there at that sink.” Ben said to them. Derick saw the sink when he came in but he did not know why the sink was right there close to the front door. Celia went on to the sink, she washed her hands and clean it with the towel next to the sink. When she finished, Derick and John went on to wash their own hands. “I know you already know what is happening right now with my father, about the chemical he created.” Celia went to ben. “Of course I know, I am private not a caveman.” B
