It was 9:34pm and Dr. Daniel Colvert just arrived at the building where he thought that he was going to change things forever. His driver stopped him in front of the building and Dr. Daniel slowly came out of the car. Dr. Daniel was tall with a beard, a fair skin and wore spectacle. He came with his lab coat and obviously you could tell that he was a scientist and a really good one at that. Today was the day that almost all the great scientists gather in one building to discuss their discovery that could change the world and today Daniel got invited which he had been anticipating for a while. He thought of something else, he went to the car and open the door. “Get out of the car,” He told the driver. The driver was confused, he did not know what was going on but he could tell that Dr. Daniel was really tense and worried. “What happened sir? Did everything work out fine in there?” The driver said coming out of the car. “Everything went wrong and I want you to do something for me.” Dr. Daniel said. “I need you to take this chemicals and run away from here as fast as you can, do not let anyone see you, do not let anyone find you.” He gave the chemicals to the driver. “But sir…” The driver was about to say something but Dr. Daniel stopped him. “Just listen to me and don’t say anything. Go straight to my safe house, I will take the car and I will meet you there. Once you get there, stay there and wait for me.” Dr. Daniel said. John is Derick’s best friend, they have been close since they were young. After Derick’s father died, john was among the reason he did not break because john was always there for him. After a while of driving they got to school. They parked their bikes and chained it to a pole. There school was just a typical normal school filled with different kinds of people. After Derick’s father died, he was no longer the social type, he did not talk too much people because he had a lot on his mind and a mother to take of care. And John was the brainy type who was also social, well social with his fellow brainy type. They had already entered the school and were on their way to their lockers. As they were walking, a group of girls walked past them and John could not help but notice the way Derick was looking at one of the girls. “You know, I have to tell you this again, she is not in your league so why don’t you stop thinking about you and Celia together.” John got Derick’s attention

Derick was in his room, he just finished the food and thought of taking the plate back to the kitchen. He came out of his room and went downstairs. When he got downstairs, he looked at his mom again and she was fast asleep. And whenever he looked at his mom, thoughts would start to flow into his head, thoughts that he cannot control.He immediately when to the kitchen, when he got there he put the plate down next to the sink but as he was about to turn around to leave, he realized that he had to wash the plate.He grabbed the plate and started to wash it with soap. He did the washing quickly because he did not want to waste time, he was already tired. He was done washing the plate so he kept it back and went out of the kitchen. He then went to the living room where his mother was. He noticed that her blanket was falling off so he went to her and adjusted the blanket well on her. Derick started to focus on Celia, he was not expecting her to say that and he was not sure why she said it. “Well if we are going now, why don’t I give him something to remember so whenever he thinks of snitching, he will think twice.” One of the boys said. And as he said that, he punched Derick so hard that he fell to the ground with also the stuffs he bought. The rest of the group started to laugh except Celia. Derick was furious, all he could hear was their laughter and it made him even angrier. He tired as much as he could to control himself but it was just too much. They group started to enter the car while still laughing. Derick turned towards them and placed his hand on his face, his cheek were swollen and a bit of blood was in his mouth. He managed to control his anger because if he did something now, the outcome will be very bad and he will not know how to go home to his mother. “I am sure it is not what you are thinking about.” Derick said. “You know there is no way in this world that you will go to the dance with Celia as a date.” John said. Derick was surprised that John got what he was thinking about, “I know it is not possible, but wouldn’t it be something if I actually go to the dance with her.” “Yeah, it will be something, it could even be enough for me to come to the dance. But for your own sake, don’t think too much about something like that.” John reasoned with him. “Yeah you are right” Derick agreed with him. “That is good.” The bell rang for the next period and the both of them went immediately for the next class. School was over and everyone rushed home to start preparing for the dance on Friday. Derick and john did not plan to go so there was no preparation for them. After he finished everything, he went downstairs to check up on his mother. He went straight to her room. When he got there he noticed that her door was open and the lights were on. He looked into the room and saw his mother sitting in front of a mirror applying little makeup.He was surprised with what he saw, “Good morning mom.” He walked into the room.His mother turned back, “Oh, good morning Derick, hope you slept well?” She asked.“I did,” he replied. “Are you going out anywhere?” He asked.“Not really, I was just trying see how I would look with some make up on, it has been a while.” She replied.He smiled, “Alright mom. At that moment, everything was going well for Derick and he could not believe it. He was not bothered about his mother’s tears because he knew that they were tears of joy. “Thanks mom, for the suit and also the tie.” He said still looking at himself in the mirror. “There is no need to thank me for anything, I am just doing what I am meant to do.” She said. “And the girl, she is not coming over. I thought she would come and you guys would go from here.” She continued. “No mom, I already talked to her about it. We will meet at the dance.” He said. “But I really wanted to meet her.” “You will meet her eventually mom but not now.” He assured her. “Alright, if you say so. I want you to do something for me.” “What is it mom?” He asked curiously. “Make sure you enjoy every moment today at the dance.” She said. “I will mom.” He assured her. “Great.” “Alright, its time, I will be going now. I don’t want to keep her waiting.” He said. “Yes you are right, y
