REACH FOR THE HOOPS

Chapter 2 - The People's Jade.

The Red Bulls arrived and their fans went wild, wondering why they took longer that expected.

-Commentator-

1: "Here they are, the Red Bulls team took longer than expected, what could have caused this.

this is a fast rising team who start from the scratch of this competition, no one would have believed that they'd be in the finals, thanks to their shooter of all time, what's his name again?'_

2: ' yeah, he's the team hot cake, Jade Brown! I think he's the reason why almost everyone in town is here, the young lad is rising fast!_

The team stepped out of the bus and the crowd got more wilder, but silence came through again in the next moment, followed by mummerings as they couldn't find who they're expected to see.

'Where's Jade?'

'Where's our shooter?'

That's the voice of the Crowd.

Some had already put up boards displaying his name, this moment the team couldn't hold it anymore as some bow their heads sobbing silently.

the amount of crowds that turned up just to watch them is insane, all because of Jade, the people's Jade!

After a while, without delay, the game started without the presence of Jade, nothing is told to the Fans nor the Officials, the game just went on.

1:' oh, what a game, this is the least of what we expected, The 'NET HOOPERS are proving themselves as the real Number one team in the state's high school basketball team._'

2:' The margin is wide, what a lead, 25-08 at the end of first quarter, did you think it's because of the absent of the Red Bull's star?

1:' Did you think so? why's he absent, did you think he'll be available before the end of the game?

"Guys, you have to out your act up, I know It's not easy without the aid of our shootings, its not that accurate and I know Jade being absence is bringing this effect as out mental heart is emotionally unstable..

still this is not out game!"..

Coach Cole paused, looked to make sure he get their attention, they're not really taking it.

" Even if they've to win, is this how we put up with the expectation of our Fans, almost all the City is here to witness us play final against this number one Highschool basketball team. At least let's put up with this!".

[NET HOOPERS]

"Yeah, that's how we take the lead and show them we're stiil the Number one in High school, we hold on to our legacy!

we need to keep up with the pace and show them how's its done. Now that we know their best shooter is absent, we should know that winning them will be more easier, not that we won't win if he's around!" The Coach said.

"That's more like it!" Taylor Said, laughing.

"Get more prepared, 2nd quarter in a bit." The coach said and walked out of the locker room.

"Hey Dan, let's get to outdoor court at the back of the indoor, Wanna flex my wrist a little bit." Jude said dragging Dan along.

They walked through the hallway and got to the backdoor.

They met some girls on the way and they keep staring at jude.

They kept looking back and Jude was wondering why the stares is coming.

"You know them?" Dan asked.

"Not at all." I was surprised as well.

"perhaps,you've done something here today!" Dan said.

Jude thought and he remembered the incident with the Lousy girl and her friends at the gate.

"Yeah, I collided with a girl today and she flared up, her friends isn't nice either." Jude said and Dan 'Ohhh-ed'

Jude got to the Basketball court and got a ball, started shooting while Dan is picking his rebounds.

"Mehn, you need to be in the nationals, you're so good with this shots." Dan whinned and Jude laughed.

"You sure know how to pull legs, Not even in a high school team yet, just a Hamburger seller basketball boy. I love the sports and I hope to play one day in a real game." Jude said, still shooting.

'Oohhhhhhhhh' the crowd went wild after a Monster dunk pulled up by Taylor Reuben.

The referee blew the whistle as a signal for the end of second quarter.

[Commentator]

1:' And that's the end of the second quarter with a Huge dominance by the NET HOOPERS, what a Lead!

2:' The lead is Something else, 49- 13 with Net Hoopers Taking the Lead, what's really wrong with the Red Bulls, their Fans are down and the Cheers is down as well. will there be a lively play for the rest of the quarters?'

Everyone went dead silent in the locker room, the coach don't even know what to say, The players are down!

"Can't we forfeit the game?" Joe, the smallest said and no one even bulge to scold him.

The Coach, deep in his thought still looks for what to say.

About to beak his silence, the door of the locker room flew open and the Assistant coach runs in with a serious look in his face.

"What happen coach Dew?" Coach Cole asked.

"I need to see you for a moment!" He said.

Coach Cole look at the players with an eye conversation of I'll be right back and followed him.

1:' The 3rd quarter is Underway and the Two teams are back__

The Red Bulls came out and the crowd went wild, at the presence of a particular player, the one they've been really looking for!

2:' Whoa! look at who we've got here, Jade Brown is back, he's here!_

the Crowd went lively again and their chants are audible till it overcome the voice of the NET HOOPERS' fan.

'Whooooooooo' the crowd at it again, Jade with the 3 point shot.

The Red bulls are coming up, their defence more tight and covering up for the Margin.

Jade is not disappointing as well, he never misses, every attempt is a Basket count!

"Ppprrrreewwww".. that's it, the referee blows the whistle for the end of 3rd quarter, the crowd is wild, the commentators are working, getting more busy with comments.
