Ame's PovDAMMIT."I lost to the monster." The smile on the golem's face as I passed out still haunted me to this moment. I was in a small room that looked like a private healing room in ancient china and I was told to get dressed. The walls were basically paper thin and the curtains fluttered in the wind so gently as if caressed by an unseen touch. Sitting up on the futon I was laid on, I looked at myself and saw the bandage wrapped around my torso. Memories of bleeding out from the gash and the helpless situation I found myself in were still so fresh in my mind I wanted to curl up somewhere and not come out. I had always trained around large bodies of water like streams, lakes, or waterfalls when using large area attacks or techniques that dealt a lot of damage. So naturally, finding myself in an environment without that particular requirement put me at a huge disadvantage. Finally done with sulking, I stood up and walked to the large tub filled with water in a corner of the room.
Kiri's PovI felt the excitement from Celeste the moment I laid eyes on the black pearl. It's very rare for her to become excited so this was indeed surprising. Picking it up I did not know what to expect but I was interested in knowing what could have gotten her so riled up she was almost dancing inside. "Kiri you have no idea how lucky we are." Hearing her speak to me first was also not something that happened often. Rather it was more the other way around. "Care to enlighten me then?" Before she could reply sun Wu picked up the pearl and held it out to me."Your connection with your past is already strong for one so young. This will help you on your way to gaining enlightenment." Barely able to contain Celeste's hunger for the item held out to me I took it from the general. At first, nothing seemed to happen. Before I could react I felt it pull a strand of my energy and bond itself to me making it light up with a purple aura. A few moments later the aura now seemed like a flame
Ame's PovWatching Tora leave I turned my attention back to Kiri. He had an indifferent look on his face and it was actually quite strange because he always had a smile plastered on that sometimes I felt he was wearing a mask until he spoke. I set him down somewhere in the corner and once again, the shadows around seemed to dance toward him. Not thinking much of it, I went to the center of the room and pulled out the sword I had received from General Sun. Pouring a bit of power into the blade it hummed and began giving off a faint hue. All of a sudden I was no longer in the training hall but standing on the still surface of the water with nothing else around me. Looking at my reflection in the water, it suddenly changed from my image to the image of Susanoo. Immediately, he stepped out from the water via the reflection I had just been looking at. So what did you learn this time around? "I'm sorry Susanoo. I've always thought of your power as mine but I've never taken the time to get

Academy's Martial arts gymnasiumOne week ago. Grunts echoed all around as the sounds of kicks and punches connecting with flesh rang clear in the atmosphere. The smell of sweat was heavy in the air and everyone in the gym was either working out, sparring, or simply involved in one activity or the other in preparation for what was to come. The male occupants were dressed in white gi while the females were dressed in blue. The sensei walked around with his assistant just a few steps behind. He would give the occasional nod or offer correction and advice when needed. After he had made his rounds, he moved towards the sparring area located at the center of the room and sucked in a large breath. The assistant already knowing what was coming had already taken a step back and covered his ears. "YAME!"...The silence that followed was instant and everyone stood with their hands against their sides. No one wanted to incur the wrath of Sensei Hiroyuki. The man was as strict as a computer pr
"HAJIME"Hebi's go-to move was to charge directly and so I waited. However this time, he didn't. He took a stance and stayed still without so much as flinching or even blinking. Something about him seemed a bit strange today. Taking a stance so as to not be caught off guard, I also stayed watching him when something happened with his eyes. They turned green with black slits visible in them. With the tightening of his leg muscles the only indication I got, he charged at me. A punch came straight for my face quickly followed by a full body turn bringing around the elbow of his other arm aimed at my midsection. Sidestepping and using his momentum, I held unto his arm and tossed him violently to the floor. As if expecting the counter, he quickly stamped his right foot on the floor and held onto my arm to perform a judo throw using my own body momentum. "Seems you're not just fighting with your body today but with your head as well." I couldn't see the expression on his face but he shou
Ushi’s PovThe last blow I had given Hebi was one to end the duel and put an end to the stupid rivalry that he had created. The real world will always be different from what happens in the academy during practice. It could never be the same. Ending it once and for all was the best way to save his life and eliminate any chances of me having to always watch my back because of him. “Curse you Ushi. What have you done to me? Why did it end up like this? This was supposed to be my perfect victory. It was supposed to be my win.”His screams got louder and louder until the sensei’s assistant knelt beside him and struck him at the back of his neck effectively knocking him out. “Winner of this kumite. Arekuruu Ushi!”Bowing to where Hebi lay unconscious, I took a step back before turning around fully and walking away. Moving straight to the showers I took off everything and stepped under the cold shower allowing the water to run all over me relaxing both my body and mind. “What troubles you
Present DayUshi’s PovAfter taking a break from school for a few days I finally returned on the day of the official team formation. I didn’t have any group of people in mind, I just wanted to observe before making a decision. Walking down the halls, I saw various groups of people gathering together and making light discussions. Apparently, the school gave a certain amount of time to find teammates of your own before they tossed the loners together in a group. No group stood out to me. There were a few impressive ones, but watching them for a bit while taking their behavior into consideration, I was beginning to doubt if this venture would actually be a successful one for me. I walked into the assembly hall which was being used since it allowed a large number of students to gather with ease. Putting my hands into my pockets and going off to a far corner I stood apart and continued my observation till I heard someone speak from right beside me. “Nice vantage point.”With a sense of u
