Academy's Martial arts gymnasiumOne week ago. Grunts echoed all around as the sounds of kicks and punches connecting with flesh rang clear in the atmosphere. The smell of sweat was heavy in the air and everyone in the gym was either working out, sparring, or simply involved in one activity or the other in preparation for what was to come. The male occupants were dressed in white gi while the females were dressed in blue. The sensei walked around with his assistant just a few steps behind. He would give the occasional nod or offer correction and advice when needed. "HAJIME"Hebi's go-to move was to charge directly and so I waited. However this time, he didn't. He took a stance and stayed still without so much as flinching or even blinking. Something about him seemed a bit strange today. Taking a stance so as to not be caught off guard, I also stayed watching him when something happened with his eyes. They turned green with black slits visible in them. With the tightening of his leg muscles the only indication I got, he charged at me. A punch came straight for my face quickly followed by a full body turn bringing around the elbow of his other arm aimed at my midsection. Sidestepping and using his momentum, I held unto his arm and tossed him violently to the floor. I didn’t have any group of people in mind, I just wanted to observe before making a decision. Walking down the halls, I saw various groups of people gathering together and making light discussions. Apparently, the school gave a certain amount of time to find teammates of your own before they tossed the loners together in a group. No group stood out to me. There were a few impressive ones, but watching them for a bit while taking their behavior into consideration, I was beginning to doubt if this venture would actually be a successful one for me.
