Present DayUshi’s PovAfter taking a break from school for a few days I finally returned on the day of the official team formation. I didn’t have any group of people in mind, I just wanted to observe before making a decision. Walking down the halls, I saw various groups of people gathering together and making light discussions. Apparently, the school gave a certain amount of time to find teammates of your own before they tossed the loners together in a group. No group stood out to me. There were a few impressive ones, but watching them for a bit while taking their behavior into consideration, I was beginning to doubt if this venture would actually be a successful one for me. I don't know what that's about but my aim right now is to show this boy that he needs to have skills and not just put on airs. Ushi's PovI have never seen Tsuru struggle with anything before. If something ever proved to be too difficult, she strategized and then came back to tackle it ferociously. She got roughed up once in a while or when she was outnumbered. But never to this extent. She was bruised in various places, and two bones in her arm had been broken during the fight. Cuts were visible on her arms and there was a trail of dried blood running along the right side of her mouth. All in all, she looked like a royal mess. "I'll take her to the infirmary. Tsuru's Pov I felt something today. An excitement I haven't felt in a long time. Even though I lost that fight, I feel more alive than when I usually win. It seems I'll have to work harder in the future if I want to protect him properly. Looking up at his golden eyes while he stared down at me, made me feel things that had been buried deep down due to the nature of my family. We were in service to the strong Arekuruu family after we had been overpowered by them a long time ago. Never did I expect to fall in love with an Arekuruu along the line. "You've been off today. Are you alright?"His question brought me back to reality as my mind had already been wandering. "Nothing to make you worry Ushi." I smiled at him. A genuine one. Normally it was a cover when with other people. But with Ushi, I had the luxury of being honest with myself. In a way, I'm glad we get to go on this adventure together. Even if it's just for a while we can escape from the clutches of our various households.

Ushi's PovWe all began moving at a steady pace. In all honesty, I was actually surprised by the way this team moved together. Tora walked with a bold ease, but you could tell that he was always on alert. What I did not quite understand was why he was staring in random directions within the shadow dome. Almost as if he was looking at something through the dome. Looking closely at him when his head turned from side to side, I could see that his eyes had taken on a blue hue and they were practically glowing in the dimly lit dome. It gave him a more predatory look. Ame on the other hand, moved like she was gliding on water. And upon closer inspection, she was. She had used water to create a flat disk below her feet and raised it just a couple of inches off the floor. With this, she was moving without expending any physical effort. Ushi's PovI felt a gentle breeze blow in my face when I lost sight of Tora. The next thing I knew, the rocks in the cave all disappeared in a dust-like manner. What the hell!"This guy is really something else." I realized I had a gleeful smile on my face but I couldn't bring myself to stop. There was no way I would stand a chance against an attack I couldn't see at this point. Looking inside the now empty cave, Tora was already inside. He was sitting on the floor with his back against the wall and his eyes were closed. Ame had also wandered inside and now she was looking a little better than when we were outside. Seems like the heat finally got to her. Going to take a seat inside, I sat in a lotus position on the floor before leaning my back on the wall and closing my eyes. Kiri had just taken care of a large portion of the herd all by himself. This of course infuriated the humanoid bat leading them. It had been tied down by a large number of tentacles while it struggled and trashed about on the ground. Getting up from where he was seated he walked until he was standing in front of the huge bat and put his hand on his chin. "I believe Tora has something else in mind for you, so you'll keep your life for the time being. I wouldn't like to get on his bad side since it won't end very well for me." He scratched the back of his head while speaking. He looked around once more and took a step back before sinking into his shadow. "Let's be on our way." Tora's Pov"She's a tough one. And she keeps her calm even under pressure." Kiri said to me after he sat beside me. I watched silently and listened to his report on what had occurred during their scouting mission. I had actually been monitoring them while they engaged the monster herd that was looking for us. Training my senses every day had allowed me to improve by leaps and bounds. Being connected to Byakko had really given me something I never thought I'd have. After listening to Kiri, I thought up a plan on how to move forward and make sure everyone got an active part in this training exercise.
