CHAPTER FIVE

I opened the door of the room and exited the testing area. I saw Alice. She was sitting on a bench near the testing area. Seeing that I was out of the testing area, she stood up and smiled while walking towards me. Although I don’t want to kill you single dogs. Yeah, I am talking to you. What can I say? Obviously, I have an ability to break out of the fourth dimension. I will see you now. I looked at Alice’s smile. Damn, while I saw her, I thanked myself. It was the best decision to take the chance or else I would have missed the chance to be with this beautiful, talented, and sweet girl. I hugged her. Obviously, she hugged me back. I asked her, while hugging her, “You haven’t tested the game yet, have you? “ She shook her head and continued resting her head on my chest. I looked at her. She was acting kinda weird. This made me feel weird. So I asked, “What’s wrong Alie? “ She sighed and said, “It’s nothing. I am having nightmares since the past few days. “ Patting her back I reassuringly said, “Don’t worry, alright. I am with you, and I won’t let anything happen to you. “

Only Alice knew what her nightmare was. She was frightened. It was all because of the guy in front of her, her boyfriend. It was because of Mike that she stabilised. If not for him, she would have been... Alice held me tightly. I hugged her, too. Then, I asked her, “You ate nothing till now, did you? “ She shook her head and said, “How can I eat without you? We eat together, but you came to the company early. “ She pouted while saying all this. I smiled and said, “Alright.. I won’t do this again. Just a month. It is enough for the game to be released. After that, I would spend most of my time with you. “ She sighed and said, “I just don’t know why. But I want to spend a lot of time with you. Like I won’t get time in the future. “ I drew back from her and looking at her eyes, I said, “What are you saying? I won’t leave you. Even if I die... “ She placed her hand over my mouth and whispered while tears dripped a little from her eyes, “Don’t... You won’t die. We have to marry and have some kids. Then, we have to see our kid’s marriage and also we have to play with our grandchildren. By then we would be old and we would die peacefully in each other’s arms. “ I nodded at her.

Alice watched a lot of movies. This was one of the reason she thought of all this. Too melodramatic, but I loved her the way she was. I still felt something was wrong with her. But I didn’t ask her. Too much pestering would irritate anyone. So then we went hand in hand to the cafeteria downstairs. The company I built isn’t that big, just a four storey building. I know, it seems great and all. But a company with a four-storey building isn’t that great. There are many gaming companies. But thankfully, our company was the only one with an open world of Virtual Reality. Others are all the boring kind, like Battle Royales. I mean, who plays those kid games? Play something that is hard and that cannot get hacked. Yeah, you heard it right. A VR game of this level(Nexus level) isn’t possible to be hacked. Most of the permissions required can't be given until the system verifies that it is me who is giving those orders. It requires my retina scans, fingerprint, blood check to confirm if I am alive or someone is using my corpse .I don’t know how it is possible, but it is related to some of the high level technology. And there is also the most important check, my DNA.

I and Alice ate in the cafeteria. We ate hamburgers and a coke. I don’t like coke much, but Alice is a huge fan of coke. I cannot say anything about coke, unless I want to..ahem, Let’s leave it there. That’s one of my personal things. After that, we returned to the test area. Since Alice hasn’t tested the game yet, how can I be proud of myself(an owner of a gaming company) being her boyfriend? The game being developed is mine. So no need for some special conditions.

Sarah was happy when she saw the awed look of Alice. Alice treats Sarah as her sister, too. Because I look at her as my sister. Sarah actually has spent a lot of time with me, similar to Jack. Once I was alone in the house and didn’t have any friends to play with, since I quit my school. Because dad’s business rivals might have attacked me, and used me as a bait for Dad. And I was a rude and a spoiled child. It wasn’t until I grew up that I changed. Anyway, since I didn’t have any friends to play with, I quit eating. Yeah, I don’t know why I even thought such a bad idea. But finally my dad brought me a friend. She was younger than me. A skinny girl with brown hair and hazel eyes. This girl was none other than Sarah. Well, we bonded quickly and soon became unbreakable. Jack's and mine relationship isn’t that deep like me and Sarah’s.

Sarah was an orphan. My family raised her.

She got everything she needed. More than that, she got a big brother, whom she always looked up to. After she graduated from business school, she became my assistant. Again, I don’t know why she worked as my assistant. But I won’t say that I didn’t want her to be my assistant. In this way, we both would at least stay together. That’s all I need.

After finishing the test, we (Me, Alice and Sarah) returned to our house. Sarah's action lived in the same house as I and Alice do. It’s just that we three are deeply attached now.
