A SURPRISE MEETING

As soon as Cade left, his father descended the steps and grabbed Cassandra’s hand.

“Are you crazy? Why didn’t you tell me he was here?” He yelled at her.

“Let go of me! He asked to see me. Am I now a prisoner? Can’t I have visitors?” She yelled back and removed her hand from his hold.

“Besides, I didn’t ask him to come here, he just showed up.”

“He already questioned me and you just undid everything I said to him. Do you even realise that Alex is a suspect in Mr Roberts murder? Yet you just told Cade that Alex had threatened the man.”

“That doesn’t mean Alex killed him! Besides, the man deserved death anyway. How dare he refuse to sell his useless property to my son.” She huffed.

“If anything happens and Alex is found guilty of the crime, make sure you all count me out of it. I wish that boy was born with even half the brain Cade has. My life would be easier.” Mackenzie said and Cassandra’s anger multiplied.
