Weeks later, the Milton Conglomerate in conjunction with Maxwell Jordan began the actualization of the idea that Maxwell brought to the table for Cade. The beginning of the process was quite hectic for Cade. He had meetings with the board members to deliberate on the percentage of payment they were to receive and to pay the workers whom he would hire for the job. But soon enough, the process became quite smooth. Cade opened branches of The Milton subsidiary all over the country, and in no time it became popular across the country and gained massive patronage just as Maxwell had predicted. Cade was so proud of Maxwell's idea, that he decided to throw a party to acknowledge the genius of Maxwell's idea. The party was to take place on a weekend and Maxwell was allowed to invite as many of his friends as he wanted. And Maxwell was going to do just that. But when he got there, he did not see Raegan anywhere around. He stood outside waiting because he didn't want to just barge into the female restroom. He was hoping that she would come out, but when he had waited at least ten minutes and she had not shown up, he decided to go in. He first knocked on the main door, calling her name, and when there was no response, he went in. He began knocking on all the doors of the bathroom, but no one came out and he discovered they were only closed, not locked because the bathroom was empty. That was when Cade's concern peaked.He headed back to the arena, telling himself that he must have missed her, or that she must have been out socializing. He really hoped that it was either of the two. But he got back to the arena and found that she was not there. The party was coming to an end and people had began to vacate the arena. Cade's security staff had only assembled and were waiting for his command when his phone rang. He hurriedly picked it up thinking it was Raegan, but his flare was cut short when he remembered that he was holding Raegan's phone in his other hand. It was an unknown number calling and he had a bad feeling about it."Yes?" He said grumpily into the phone. "Baby?" Raegan's shaky voice spoke from the other end of the line."Raegan?! Where are you? Why are you crying? Are you hurt?" Cade asked. He was already furrowing his brows from concern. He was angry at whoever dared to take her from him."I'm – I'm..." Her voice went off and the call was cut off. Cade lost control of his vehicle after being slammed from the side. He was trying to get the car back under control when he was slammed again, this time from behind and he smacked his head against the steering wheel. Blood began to flow down the side of his face and the car swerved out of the main road onto a side street and crashed against a wall. The airbag inflated and prevented him from smacking his head against the steering again or worse, the glass window.Cade groaned and removed his seatbelt, then forced the half smashed car door open and got out of the car. He leaned on the wall for support and turned to find a way out before his attackers would come for him. He heard a car stop and footsteps coming in his direction but he was wounded and couldn’t run. He immediately contacted Macaulay.“I’ve been ambushed. I can’t talk for long. Track me through my phone’s location, I’ll try to keep it on me for as long as I can before they take it, just in case their aim is to kidnap me.” H

Cade was immediately admitted for treatment. He had lost a lot of blood since he was stabbed, and was so close to passing out. Macaulay however, had work to do. He contemplated reporting the case to the president before leaving, or just leaving to get his answers. He chose the last option after a little while of deliberation. Even though he told the president, he could do almost nothing to help other than increase security. Macaulay wanted to step into fire. He left two of his men in charge of Cade before he left early the next morning after making sure Cade’s condition was stable. "Do not take your eyes off him for even a second," he said to them. Then he left. Robin was a man of small build, popularly called Robinhood in his neighborhood because of his name. He lived a pretty normal, boring life on the outskirts of the city, and would only travel when he was needed for a job. The president was too surprised to speak when he was informed by Macaulay that Maxwell was the one responsible for Raegan’s kidnapping. Maxwell? Why would Maxwell of all people engineer such a plot to get his daughter kidnapped, and even attempt at murdering Cade? Was politics involved? He wondered so, because he knew that he and Senator Jordan were on the best of terms, and only talked just yesterday. Was it because he was Raegan’s ex? Despite the fact that Raegan and Maxwell broke up, the president hadn’t cut off the Jordan family because they were one of his oldest friends and also among his biggest political supporters. He had only told Maxwell not to come to the house anymore because Raegan didn’t want him anywhere near her. The president only invited Maxwell once in a while to parties for the sake of the family’s longtime friendship. But for this kind of thing to happen, he would have to find out the reason himself. Macaulay found Raegan tied to a chair in the fourth room that he checked. He could see that she had been crying and wondered if Maxwell tortured her. "Did he touch you?" Macaulay asked as he untied her. She was still crying and whimpering so she could not speak at that moment. She was relieved to be rescued especially when she knew that Maxwell had planned to hurt her for denying his request. Macaulay was a bit confused by her response, so he assumed that Maxwell had indeed hurt her."What did he do to you?" He asked again. "I’m fine, don’t worry about me. I’m just relieved to see your face here because it means I’m safe now. He just slapped me but it doesn’t hurt so much now that I know I’ve been found." Raegan said, still crying. "Did he do anything else?" Macaulay asked with clenched fists.He wanted to know if Maxwell had sexually assaulted her but he didn’t know how to ask her that directly. But she understood what he was trying to ask even if he didn’t ask the question direct

Raegan walked up to Macaulay as they left the Senator's quiet compound. "Which of the hospitals was Cade taken to?" She asked, moving slowly and making Macaulay slow his steps to her pace. "We should go there," she continued, and Macaulay nodded in agreement. Then he excused her and went over to the president coming from behind them. "Me and Raegan will be going to see Cade at the hospital," he said, seeking the president's permission to let Raegan go visit Cade at the hospital. The president might insist that Raegan go home with him to eat, and change before going to the hospital, which was why Macaulay was asking first. Though he knew that Raegan would likely not agree to waiting much longer. She was obviously worried about Cade and until she sees him with her oen two eyes, she was not likely to stop worrying."That's fine," the president said. He was gloomy, and Macaulay could tell that it was from the just concluded incident with Maxwell and the Senator that made him so moody.
