CONVINCING THE FIANCE

Hailey’s mother smiled. Hailey was very confident in her new secret plan. She had already started to put it all together in her mind.

"Dinner would be ready soon. The Cook was already almost done before you got back. Go up and have a bath, then come downstairs and we’ll eat together. Also, I haven't heard from your uncle since the last time. His numbers are also unavailable. Hopefully he's still alive wherever he is." Mrs Bellwether said and left Hailey to freshen up.

Hailey found her mother's last words funny, and so she laughed. Why would her mother care what happened to them? They left without even saying goodbye. She only wondered where her uncle Barnes and cousin Derek had run off to. Days passed and turned into weeks. Hailey unblocked Evans' number but she rarely took his calls. Even when he tried to visit, she hardly ever allowed him into her house. She was pretending to be depressed so he would feel more compassionate and guilty and try all his best to appease her.
