DINNER TIME

Carlson finally arrived at the Milton estate. He put on his best casual outfit– the most expensive denim he had, and a black t-shirt that clung slightly to his well toned muscular body. He wanted to impress, but did not want to seem desperate to make an impression. His best clothes would probably still look like rags compared to their wealth but he refused to let that get to him. He knew Cade and his wife would never mock him for his financial status. He had made sure to get a haircut too, one that accentuated the chiselled outline of his handsome face. He did not know why he had been anxious, but the sight of Raegan's warm smile to welcome him made him feel like he was at home.

"Welcome, my dear," she said, standing up when the maid who had opened the door for Carlson brought him to her in the living room. "You must be Carlson."

"Oh, yes ma'am." Carlson smiled and nodded curtly. She walked towards him and kissed him on both cheeks.
