Cade was exasperated. How did Hailey find her way to his company? Of course he knew that this was the famous Milton Conglomerate, anyone could easily locate it because of its fame. Hailey probably found out he was the CEO from the live footage of the inauguration event that was aired on the news channel and social media platforms. But what he could not come to understand was how Hailey still managed to be audacious and bold enough to come show herself to him in his office. After all she and her mother did to him? He was even more rattled by her attempt to seduce him. He knew quite all right that she was a pretty woman, and from what he had just seen some minutes ago, she had an incredibly beautiful body. But what was that? He did not need to see that, did not ever think of seeing her naked or even wanted to see her naked after she humiliated him when he was Dennis. Did she have no shame? He could guess that her mother put her to it. Yes, he decided, her mother was the perpetrator of
Hailey was back in her home, and already making a new plan on going back to Cade. She was more than humiliated by how he asked her out of his office, but stronger than that humiliation was her determination to get him to come around. It would either be by choice or by force. Whichever he chose, she was going to roll with it. When she left for her city the next day after what had transpired in Cade's office, she arrived home and told her mother all that happened. That was when she broke the news of her abortion to her mother. "Dennis asked you to leave his office?" Mrs Bellwether asked her daughter. She was surprised at this news. But it was an unreasonable surprise because she had not been expecting Cade, whom they would not stop referring to as Dennis, to act harshly to Hailey. "Yes! Could you believe I stripped naked for him, mom? I stripped naked in the sexiest way I could muster for him, and he still had the guts to kick me out of his office." They were seated facing each othe
Hailey’s mother smiled. Hailey was very confident in her new secret plan. She had already started to put it all together in her mind. "Dinner would be ready soon. The Cook was already almost done before you got back. Go up and have a bath, then come downstairs and we’ll eat together. Also, I haven't heard from your uncle since the last time. His numbers are also unavailable. Hopefully he's still alive wherever he is." Mrs Bellwether said and left Hailey to freshen up. Hailey found her mother's last words funny, and so she laughed. Why would her mother care what happened to them? They left without even saying goodbye. She only wondered where her uncle Barnes and cousin Derek had run off to. Days passed and turned into weeks. Hailey unblocked Evans' number but she rarely took his calls. Even when he tried to visit, she hardly ever allowed him into her house. She was pretending to be depressed so he would feel more compassionate and guilty and try all his best to appease her. It was o
Evan always made efforts to please Hailey. He would do whatever she asked, if that would make her happy. But this was not just something that would please her, it was something that would be of benefit to him as well. He ruminated over the suggestion days after Hailey had told him, and came to a decision after he had considered the pros and cons of having to partner with the famous and extraordinarily rich company. It would give more visibility to his own company. They had been looking for ways to reach their target customers, and although they did all they knew would make their company more visible to target customers near and beyond, Evan did not think he was satisfied with the results they had gotten so far. The visibility was a pro. The con however, was that they may lose some customers to the Milton Conglomerate. But when Evan made his calculations, he could also foresee Milton Conglomerate adding more customers to his own company. Also, the kinds of customers that would come wit
Evan honoured his invitation. He took Hailey alongside because she insisted on coming along since the idea was hers in the first place. Even without saying that, she knew he would take her with him for goodluck. It was all a part of her plan. He had already bought her a new car and taken her on a shopping spree, a spar session and had gotten her other gifts. He was also really more loving to her now that her suggestion was taking the progressive side. So, when he told Hailey that the CEO of the Milton Conglomerate requested an audience with him, she asked to go with him, and because he was very pleased with her, he agreed to let her go. Evan wrote to Cade, informing him of his arrival to the city, and his subsequent intention of visiting the company for the meeting they were to have. Cade replied to him, and an appointment mail was sent to Evan along with a virtual visitor’s pass. Evan didn’t tell Cade that he was coming along with someone else because he didn’t think it was necessar
Cade decided it was time to carry out his second important meeting of the day. He had stalled it for far too long, and now he was determined to get it over with. He had been avoiding speaking to his father; the father and son had not spoken to each other since Cade's arrival. He had his questions ready, had his mind made up and ready for whatever outcome talking to his father would bring. It would either be fruitful or just a waste of time. Whatever it was, Cade was ready for it today and finally decided to go over to his father's house after much procrastination. Whether or not he met with Alex and Cassandra did not matter to him. He would outrightly ignore them and proceed with his mission. The walls had also been repainted. The outside looked like it had been redone. He could guess that his father did some renovation on the house. He got down from his car and went to the front door after being searched by the security at the gate. He rang the doorbell and waited for an answer. No
Cade sounded so formal, and his formality made his father feel guilty for getting angry at his question. It was after all just a harmless question, and Cade was his son too. There was no problem being a curious child. Cade intentionally didn’t mention that he also wanted to know how his father was able to get such a large sum and give it so easily. He didn’t want his father to get defensive. He would investigate that one on his own later."He just wanted to purchase a building for himself. You all may not think so, but Alex has a good eye for business, if only you all would give him a chance to prove himself." Mackenzie said. Cade took note of the information and didn’t bother to argue with his father about Alex, it was useless since his father will pick Alex’s side no matter what. Alex had been given a lot of chances to prove himself, to learn to handle a big company like Milton Conglomerate properly, but he had misused them all. The boy was just too lazy."Was it from your account
It was the custom of the Milton Conglomerate to hold various charity events every year. However, in the past three years, the company had been unable to host as much of these events as they used to due to the losses they accrued when Cade disappeared. Now though, that Cade was back and had restored the company's glory, there was going to be a charity event. The year before Cade's disappearance, the charity event that the company held was in honour of people who had lupus. A fundraiser was done for people in the company with the disease, and some other beneficiaries. The events usually get honoured by the presence of high profile men, influential women and important people all around the country, and it was usually a huge success because of the presence of these people. This year, Cade had decided the event would be held in honour of children with leukaemia and anaemia. All the money made would go into free medical care for as many children as the program could take. The end of the yea
