It was a week now since Cade's visit to Papa's mansion, and each time he remembered Mrs Bellwether's confession, he fumed with anger. He thought long and hard about what Hailey said to him and could understand her pain to an extent but it was no excuse to mistreat him the way they had done. But what he could not understand was why they had kept silent about Papa's will and even changed it to what they wanted. For the first time in a long while, Cade did not know what to do. He was torn between letting the Bellwethers be, or taking his revenge on them, especially for depriving him of his full privilege. He wanted to leave them alone because he could understand from Hailey's point of view, but he wanted to teach them a lesson for being so corrupt, so wicked. He wanted to get his revenge on them for being treated like trash. He made up his mind. He would get to the root of this. He would find Barnes and only when he found him would he carry out any action he had in mind for the Bellwethe
Cade was determined to find to find Barnes. From what he could draw from Hailey and her mother's confession, Barnes had forsaken the mother and daughter. And since they kept insisting that he was the mastermind behind the plan to chase him out of the mansion and deprive him of his right, he just had to find the man and bring him down here. But Cade also had a new matter at hand that was more important than his revenge on the Bellwethers. A rival company was rising up against him. Far away in a different country where the Milton Conglomerate had one of its biggest branches, a new company had been opened and was gaining so much recognition and battling with the branch for contracts, investors and media attention. While this was fine and poised no threat to the Milton Conglomerate, Cade could tell from the many similar ventures that the new company had, that it was not a healthy competition for them. The company was trying to imitate the Milton Conglomerate’s business strategies. Also,
Gale was proficient when it came to running Cade's errands, and as Cade had asked, Gale had found the two men who could carry out his spy mission efficiently. He did not even have to go far, though he had initially thought it would be a hard task to find the spies as asked by Cade. But when he got home that day, he had the task figured out. And now, on his way to work, he whistled in excitement. He wondered how Cade would take it, he hoped his boss would like his choice. The day at work started with meetings held by the board concerning the matter at hand. The board had not come to a decision on the matter in their previous meeting, and even though Gale knew Cade had already decided, the board would still hold a meeting to make a final decision that included every member of the board. The meeting began a few minutes after everyone had assembled in the board room. Cade looked calmer today than he was yesterday. He was neither rattled nor surprised like he was the previous day. Today,
Gale got ready for the trip and task at hand. He and Clint were going to Austria. Gale wondered why ever a company that far away would decide to go into a fight with Milton Conglomerate. He could only wonder, but knew that he would find the answers to his questions when they got there. He had also cleared up all protocols for their flight down there. It would be easy to enter the country as delegates from Milton Conglomerate since they were cleared by the authorities to fly privately for business. Now, he was waiting for Clint at a bus stop. They had decided to meet there and make their way to Cade's apartment where his driver would take them in one of Cade's expensive cars to the location of the airstrip. From there, they would take the private jet and spend hours in the air before they arrived at their destination. Gale looked at his watch once, as a way of containing his impatience and already building anger for what he thought was Clint's delay, but he did not have to look again,
Gale and Clint got ready for their work in the country the next morning. Gale had to wear a disguise, a different colour wig, different eye colour contacts, with glasses and a moustache. He even trimmed off his beard. Clint was going as his usual self because no one would associate him with the Milton Conglomerate. Originally, Clint was supposed to go alone for this but it might seem weird if he’s moving around a new country without bodyguards, when the company he was faking as the CEO was a bit successful. And so they got ready that morning and headed to the location where their rival company was located after booking an appointment via email. The men ordered room service and ate in their rooms. They ordered their rides too before coming out of their rooms. The ride arrived just after they had finished their breakfast. The ping of Gale's phone let them know this."Please take us to Princes Ave," Gale told the cab driver when they got in the car. "Princes Ave?" The driver asked. "Ye
"It's nameless." "Why? Don't you want people to know your business? Don’t you advertise or something? How do you get clients?" Clint asked with a perplexed look."We are devoted to our client’s privacy, that's why there is no logo. The hotel is called NAMELESS. And we don’t need to advertise. We get new clients by recommendation." The receptionist said proudly and Clint shook his head."Do you have any idea where these men, I mean the founders of the fake company, might be?" "No, no. I don't think they are or were physical either. Their businesses were mostly online, on their website.""It was on their website that I found this address and the email I used to book the appointment." Gale said. "Are you serious? My hotel's address is on those bastards' website?" The receptionist fumed."We will leave now. Thank you for the information," Gale said to the angry man who did not say a word back to them. He was too angry about his hotel's address on the wrong website to want to bid anyone
Rafael set to work the very minute after he confirmed the e-mail from Gale. He was known to be efficient and punctual in his job in the technology department. And now that he got a call directly from a member of the board to work on something, he would be as fast as he could get so as to make an impression on the higher powers of the Milton Conglomerate. It was an easy task to do, nothing he hadn’t done before. Long before Rafael even thought of working for someone, he was a tech guy with the school of thought that he would not work under any firm. Then, he did his own work and made his own money. But his own work was not noble work. He hacked into systems for a living. He did this at the prime of his career and was living the life, the peak life. Until one day when he hacked into a system with strong enough security to know who hacked into the system. Rafael did not know before this mission that he was heading in the wrong direction. So, he went ahead and hacked into a bank's system
Clint was more than shocked. He turned around to see where the gun shot had come from. He saw that it was the receptionist at the hotel, who now stood naked in front of the hotel, and from the looks of it, Clint could tell that he had a smirk plastered to his face. Why would the receptionist shoot Gale? He did not even know who they were! Clint's mind raced with thoughts in those few seconds that he turned to look at the receptionist who shot Gale, before turning around to his friend again, who was now crying in pain. “Stay away from here and stop asking too many questions.” The receptionist yelled and went back inside."Gale? Gale are you okay?" Clint asked. "No, no. No, I'm not. I was just shot on the arm. We have to call Cade, we have to let him know of this.""We will do that when you are in a hospital." Clint said and made to carry his friend, but that was cut short by another action which sent him falling on his face. His head was hit from behind and the last thing he remember
