Cade and Raegan continued to talk as Macaulay left. Raegan wanted to be as close to him as possible, so she got on the bed with him and held him close. For a few months after that, his life was peaceful and devoid of any drama. He even moved to a calmer part of the city and bought a small one story house for the purpose of relaxation. He usually only went there during the weekends with Raegan where they would cook together and have dinner, then watch movies, or do some other activities together. The house was just for them to bond and be together without disturbance or distractions. Only a matter of time before Alex and his mother would begin to reveal their plans again. And so it happened that night that Cade's gate was locked and watched over by his security. But towards the back of the property, a part of the wall had been left unguarded because the guards left to give Cade and Raegan some privacy. The lovers had dinner on the terrace on a picnic mat spread for that purpose and danced after that. After making a toast and sharing a kiss, they got so lost in each other that they were going to make love right outside. It was only just a few minutes past five in the morning. He picked up the phone and saw that it was his security staff who was calling him at such a time. He picked up. "Good morning," his deep morning voice vibrated through the phone. "Morning, sir. I'm so sorry to have disturbed your rest, but there is something here I need you to come see." The man recited as fast as he could into the phone, not wanting to waste Cade's time. "Will you speak now?" Cade asked as he saw the man shaking from the fear of being tortured."I will," the man said reluctantly, even though he was visibly shaking. Cade's security staff watched with satisfaction from seeing the initially hardened man shaking like a leaf falling from a tree. "Good. Who sent you?" The man hesitated despite his initial acquiescence. "I said who sent you?" Cade bellowed again. "Mr Alex Milton." Cade was surprised. Then he mentally berated himself for being surprised at all. He should have been expecting this. But it had been months since Alex gave him any trouble, so he sort of forgot about the malicious intentions Alex had in mind. To him, Alex was so insignificant that he never felt threatened by the boy and his mother. It seems the two of them wanted him to remember them again and come after them. As Cade's security staff swiftly brought out his phone to call the police to apprehend the intruder, Cade, his mind ablaze with a mix of anger and determination, went into the house. Inside the confines of his house, Cade paced with a sense of urgency. He did not need to walk as fast as he did, but his anger ran deep, and he thought that the gravity of the situation demanded decisive action. He went up to his room to change up. First, he reached for his phone again, to contact his trusted ally, Gale, to get a rundown of the activities of the company for that day, and his legal advisors to formulate a plan. The smile on his face fell as he made his way to Alex's penthouse, a sleek residence that symbolised luxury and privilege, only that it was misused luxury and privilege. The residents of the penthouse didn’t deserve his smile. They had gone too far this time and he wouldn’t condone them crossing the line severally. As he approached the penthouse door, a surge of adrenaline coursed through Cade's veins, and he calmed down immediately. He was here just to speak, not to cause any form of trouble, he needed to see if he could get more information from Cassandra that would make it easier to send them both to prison.
