It was the next day in the afternoon that the woman decided that it was time to give Chlor a call. As much as she was sceptical of Cage, she knew that there would be a bit of truth in her words and she also didn't want to see their marriage fall apart. The rest of the week and the week after passed in what seemed to be a blur. And soon the day of the trial came. The courtroom was buzzing with a nervous energy as everyone took their seats and waited for the proceedings to begin. Cage didn't feel a thing by the way, and he was sitting beside his lawyer who was going through some papers. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts by the way, because he knew that this was going to further damage heir relationship. He wondered how they would ever ever when they would be together ever again. The courtroom seemed to spin around him at that point. He could feel more and more sweat gathering at his forehead. He had no idea what was going on but he felt a very terrible foreboding, one that he hadn't felt in a very long time. What was the meaning of that? His office phone. As soon as they were back from the court, the maid gently walked Chloe back to the inside. There was a sombre atmosphere now. It was very quiet and everyone knew what was going on. For Chloe, it was something else entirely. They had lost, but that wasn't any of it. She knew that she should have seen the whole thing before it was presented to the court. But she guessed she had been blinded by anger and rage that she didn't take notice of what had been staring in her face the whole time. She was shocked, and so was everyone else. The next day, Cage decided that he would go and see Zo who was still awaiting trial. At least, this was the only time he could be allowed to see the man who saved his life, so it would be a very good opportunity especially to know if there was anything else Zo wanted to tell him before his trial. As he walked through the cold, sterile corridors, led by the police officer, he couldn't stop thinking about how amazed or rather, shocked he was about what Zo had done. It was a pretty brave act that not many people would do. And even though Zo had only revenged, he knew that he had done the right thing. It was only bad because he had said it to the court, but for him there was nothing bad without dealing with the person who made your life a living hell. There was no help for such kind of people, and all they deserved was the worst form of punishment possible. He couldn't wait to hear anything else Zo had to say.
