SECRET RENDEZVOUS

As soon as Cage walked out of the hospital that morning, he went straight to a Café to unwind. He felt so tired, and he knew he needed a bolster of energy if he was going to survive the day.

He had to be active and alert, especially now that Chloe needed his care and attention so much. He couldn't just wait for the remaining two months to be over and done with. He ordered his coffee and sat at an empty seat where he could see what was going on inside. The Cafe was nearly empty, safe for two couples who were talking to themselves in the distance.

That was the moment he had to think about it again, to think about what he had suspected earlier if they both were really sick or if this was some kind of ploy to get him to give up on the conviction of her grandfather. He had no idea but he suspected that something was at play here. It couldn't just be a coincidence, he knew there was something to it. The waiter brought his Café and handed it to him with a smile. He paid for it immediately
