CHAPTER 108

Merideth anxiously checked her watch again as she stepped out of her car at Carson's school. She had been dreading this moment all morning since she hadn't heard from her son. His phone had gone straight to voicemail, and none of his friends had seen him since yesterday. Her heart raced as she walked towards the school building.

She was supposed to pick him up from school yesterday, but she had been held up at work. Carson had left without her, saying that he would walk home. It wasn't the first time he had done this, so Merideth hadn't thought much of it. Now, she regretted not trusting her instincts and insisting on picking him up.
