CHAPTER 148

Oliver stood on the dock with his fishing gear in hand, taking in the salty ocean breeze. He had just finished a successful fishing trip out on his yacht with his father, and was ready to call it a day. As he turned around to head back towards the house, he saw his stepbrother, Carter, walking towards him with a disgruntled look on his face.

Oliver felt a flutter of concern in his chest, knowing that Carter's jealous and possessive nature was always a source of tension between them. As Carter drew closer, he saw that his stepbrother's fists were clenched tightly at his sides, and his eyes were dark and brooding.

"What's wrong, Carter?" Oliver asked cautiously.

"I don't like the way you and Dad are getting closer," Carter muttered, barely able to look Oliver in the eye.
