Dawson POV
" Laura, are you still in love with Caleb?" I asked her as she tensed up for a while like she spaced out before turning to look at me."Can I possibly be able to forget that man, he comes to me everytime like a nightmare and slaps the fact that I loved him on my face." She said awkwardly which made me a bit confused."What made you love Caleb?" I asked, trying to probe a little deeper.Laura looked at me with a sad expression, as if reliving old memories."He was charming and made me feel like I was the only person in the world that mattered to him. He was always there for me when I needed him, and we just had this connection that I couldn't explain," she said, her voice filled with nostalgia."But then everything changed when I found out I was pregnant. He became distant and cold, and eventually he just left without even saying goodbye," Laura said, her voice breaking slightly at the end.I put my arm aroundDawson POVAfter breaking the news to Derek, I noticed he distanced himself from everyone, sometimes with the way things were going I became doubtful of myself and how I have been to my brothers. They are in all this mess because I keep restraining them from things and I think it's high time I let go of my protection for them, ever since our parents death I had served as their older brother despite being the same age with them and I had always lectured them on getting involved with women and claimed it would be their downfall, maybe women are really making them stubble to the grown because I had let them pick their choice."What are you thinking about so kinly." Laura said taking a seat beside me on the sofa while I chuckled."Amanda's pregnancy is fake." I said to her but she didn't seemed shock at all and just smiled."It took you long enough." She said relaxing beside me." You knew about it?why didn't you tell me?" I asked.<
"You can't kill her what if Laura finds out". I whispered, it seems like I am the only one here who is concerned with the phrase, Laura mustn't know what exactly we do yet."Laura won't find out, I just can't bear seeing Amanda playing the smart card on us and getting away with it. I can't imagine after all she did I was the one who actually welcomed her into the mansion again." Derek said with bitterness."Why don't we tell her the Truth?" Derek asked."She already knows too much thanks to Dawson who wants to make her an assassin like him, even though she has not been trained well with guns she still doesn't know anything about our lives outside this mansion and let's leave it that way." I said to him."Flynn and Sandra are back from the mission you sent them and I heard they were successful in it." Derek said changing the topic which I was glad he did."That's true but they would be here soon." I said to him smiling at my achievement. T
Laura Pov"What do you mean you saw your daddy?" I questioned Sofia, squirting to her size but her smile was beeming with excitement making me doubt if it was an imagination of her's."Yes I saw him and he told me he would be back, he just had to make an important call." Sofia said to me with excitement, I looked up at the CEO who was clearly angry at the little trouble Sofia was staring at and she doesn't even seem to care about any of that."Stop saying that, how can you just assume your father was her when you have never seen him before?" I questioned again, trying my best to keep my voice down so the CEO behind me won't hear."It doesn't matter mommy, it was him. I know it was him." She insisted." Can you please take her out of here already?" The CEO said." You heard what the boss just said, we need to leave." I said to her but Sofia who smiles back," That's better, that way we would get the chance to see daddy ou
Laura povMy mind was filled with worry and confusion as I paced back and forth in our small apartment. The stranger's promise to Sofia had caught me off guard, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. How could he make such a promise when he knew nothing about us? What if he never showed up again? Sofia's hopes would be shattered, and my heart would break along with hers.I couldn't ignore the nagging feeling in my gut that something wasn't right. How could Sofia be so sure that he was her father? I had always told her that her father was on a business trip, but now doubts began to creep into my mind. What if I had been lied to all these years? What if Sofia's real father was out there somewhere? As I continued to worry, Sofia came running into the room, a big smile on her face. She had a way of bringing light into even the darkest moments."Mama, did you see how much daddy loves me?" she exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. "He pr
The rain was pouring heavily at this part of Brooklyn with people running left and right, trying to dodge from its splashes. Others had umbrellas with them but still went to a corner to avoid the cold.Nicholas however, had a target and he was almost done. Delivering goods for people was his part-time job and he was nearly done for that day. "I'm so drenched and tired," he muttered to himself as he brought the motorcycle's engine dead and stepped down.A huge man in a gruff voice was the last customer and he quickly brought out his package. The man was in front of a hotel."Hello sir, here's your package." He said to the man, handing him a brown cartoon. "Look at you fool! It's raining heavily and you still wet all my goods!" He yelled at Nicholas."Sir, I'm sorry but the box isn't ruined at all. I've kept it inside the rain proof bag." He was showing the man the bag but he tore it to pieces and stepped on it."How dare a low delivery man like you speak back to me! I will report you
As Nicholas went out, he smacked his lips bitterly and shook his head in disappointment. Maya was supposed to be that only woman that was loyal. And now, she could do that to him? To betray him like that?He was out, not even knowing where to go. His phone rang and he picked it up to see it was his friend, Mal. "Hey dude, what's up. Wait, did she like the gift??" Mal asked immediately. He knew of Nicholas' plan to surprise his wife.Nicholas shook his head, "I'm...it didn't work out." He managed to say. "We're divorced now. It's a long story, man, she even kicked me out of the house." Nicholas said feeling ashamed."What? How could she? Where will you sleep now? I think that is more important firstly." Mal said.A half smile worked its way over to Nicholas face. At least he had friends who cared about him. "Maybe you can head back to work. The place is open all day so you wouldn't mind sleeping there for the night." Mal said.Nicholas shrugged. "You know how my boss is. I doubt he w
Nicholas was taken aback. He had not expected that man in his expensive attire, living in such a big mansion, to respect him in that manner. That was when he paused to take a look at the men who had abducted him. Though two of them, but strong and mighty they were. Their bodies were built just to intimidate and they were putting on dark suits and shoes and glasses, like spies from movies he used to watch."Young master, please come with me." The older man said again. Nicholas turned to face him again, still shocked. "Who are you? Who is this young master you're always speaking of?" He said."Please come inside. Our boss wants to see you. I am sure you would be delighted to see him too." The man said. A warm smile rested on his face and Nicholas frowned.Did he really even have a choice? He followed the man inside and was even more wowed. The entrance led to a grand hall with brilliant lighting and fine decors. Then he was led to the living room, and Nicholas began to doubt whether h
Nicholas rolled his eyes upon seeing the lady before him. Tania Edward, Maya's best friend who hated him with everything.Tania wanted her best friend to end things with her from the moment she had laid eyes on Nicholas, so he too was not fond of her."Tania, that is none of your concern." Nicholas shot her a warning glance which of course, she ignored and pressed on."Haha! Of course this man is poor and doesn't belong here." She was talking to the waiter now, making her voice loud so people would begin to notice them. "Am I not right, Nicholas?"He would not give her the satisfaction of making himself angry. Instead he said, "what about you? What are you doing here?""Well unlike you, I can afford this restaurant. I have a membership card so I want to get a meal." She looked around, "guards, why is this filth still here? He's poor and he can steal from us. Send him out now.""Shut up, Tania. And mind your business." He frowned. Taking a look at the card she was holding and flauntin
