It was morning and Mello just finished dressing.

As Mello descended the stairs, his steps echoed through the quiet house. The morning light filtered in through the windows, matching his mood. He glanced around, expecting to see Deya bustling about the kitchen, but she was nowhere to be found.

With a furrowed brow, Mello made his way to the table, where last night's dinner still sat untouched. He sighed, realizing he had forgotten to eat the food before retiring to bed. It was a careless oversight, one that he knew would upset Deya.

As he stared at the dishes, guilt gnawed at him. Deya had always been there, faithfully watching him off to work each morning, despite his occasional forgetfulness or thoughtlessness. He knew she took pride in her cooking, and seeing her efforts go unappreciated must have hurt.

"Morning, Deya?" Mello called out, his voice tinged with concern as he searched the house for any sign of her. But the only response was the soft hum of the refrigerator.
