LEFT BEHIND

Alarick, Maurice and the rest of the officers in the station had worked and searched for the missing offenders till the sun came up. Some of them had fallen asleep during the night but none of them left to go home. Alarick rubbed his eyes due to the stress. He hadn’t rested since he came out of the interrogation room and joined them. He turned and looked at Maurice. Maurice had tried to stay awake for as long as he could but eventually fell asleep on his desk, his face shoved into a pile of papers.

Alarick turned back to the work at hand. It was currently 9:12am. Several hours since Dylan contacted him. He had little time left and so much to cover. Having the officers search with him was a huge help but now that most of them were asleep the workload had piled up. He couldn’t blame them though. They weren’t meant to be here and he knew that staying up for so many hours could take a toll on someone.
