Alarick was snapped out of his trance as he heard the sound of his name getting louder and louder.“Alarick! Alarick!”Alarick turned towards the source of the sound in a haze. A ray of bright morning light rippled through the dark curtains and shone on Alarick’s eyes rousing him from his sleep.“Ugh.”Alarick raised his palm to his head to shield his eyes. Alarick ignored Charlotte’s cries and went over to his father’s room. As he walked, he thought about Charlotte’s behavior. He couldn’t fathom how she could kill her own father and Grace, then fake tears for the people she had killed. It was unbelievable. For her to act as if she was innocent through it all. Alarick stood up from the desk and started to pace near the bed. His mind was swirling with dread and guilt. He had heard Dylan say they had fun with Grace but he refused to believe that Dylan was talking about rape.
