It was the next day and the courtroom was already filled up. The room wasn't as filled when the Micah scandal came out but there was still a substantial amount of people. To some, the news of common criminals infiltrating the well protected mansion of Cillian King was too much to give up. How did they do it? How long was this planned for? Were they mad? These were some of the questions on everyone's mind in the courtroom. Cillian and Alarick were already seated on the prosecution's side of the room when the doors near the bench opened up to reveal the judge. The bailiff's voice echoed. "All rise!" The murmurs in the court ceased and everyone stood up in respect for the judge. Once he sat down, he gestured to everyone else to have their seats and they did. The judge pulled the file in front of him and read aloud from it. The case of King versus Dylan McCaffrey He continued. "Please bring in the defendant." The side door of the courtroom was opened and Dylan was pulled into th
The trials for the other intruders were held consecutively for two days. They weren't given life sentences because they didn't kill anyone directly but every single one of them were found guilty of every charge. The men including Dylan who had been in a holding cell at the police station for the past two days, were being sent to a supermax prison two hours away, out by the nearest wasteland, to serve out they're sentences. The seven men in total had their chains connected to their wrist and feet. They walked in a straight line towards the two transfer vans used to carry convicted criminals to prison. Seven guards apart from the two drivers of the van watched them closely. Dylan was pulled out of the line and shoved towards one of the vans. "Get in!" Dylan grunted in irritation but obeyed the officer. "No need to get all handsy now." Dylan stepped into the van and watched as his men were being separated and put into different vehicles. Once the officers were done, Dylan counted
Alarick sat at the head of the table in the conference room with the rest of the company board. He was there in place of his father, Cillian. who had chosen to take a hiatus from work to properly mourn and come to terms with what had happened. Alarick was now able to work since the Jonathan case had been solved and the criminals put behind bars.Since he had been away from work for some time, Alarick had decided to hold the meeting to catch up and also solve any problems that might have come up since he went on a sort of break."So where are we with our recent projections?" Alarick asked.A blonde woman in a tight pants suit spoke up. She eyed Alarick from across the room with hungry eyes. "We have excellent projections, sir. Only in this month alone, our profits have gone up by 5 percent. It seems like your family drama is getting the company some much needed attention."Alarick could feel her eyes on him. Apart from business talk there was something that her eyes held. She spoke ab
Alarick rushed over to the mansion hoping that his father wouldn't ask him too many questions and just follow him. He still wasn't sure how he was going to convince Cillian to leave the mansion but he was going to try. The estate was not secure until they discovered how the culprits had gained access to the house in the first attack despite the sophisticated security software they had.In no time Alarick had reached the house. He barely shut the door to his car as he rushed inside the building. He sprinted over to Cillian's study. Cillian wasn't there. Alarick checked his father's room and the dining area but Cillian was nowhere to be found. Alarick knew that there were only three more places he could check. The living room and the grave of Jonathan or his mother. He decided to check the living room first before he would go out to check on the mansion grounds.Alarick opened the doors to the large living room but froze on the spot when he saw what was being played on the flat screen
The massive gates of the King mansion opened up allowing Alarick's car to drive into the grounds. Once he parked in front of the main building and he and Grace had alighted, one of the staff took his keys and drove the car into the garage. He and Grace went into the mansion. The duo headed straight for the living room where Alarick left his father earlier but Grace had some questions."What's going on Alarick? Why did you have to come personally pick me up from the hotel?""I'll explain it later." Alarick replied. He opened the door for Grace to pass through first. "You're back." Cillian said as he watched Alarick and Grace walk through the door. He stood up to welcome them. Another person turned back to see them. Alarick's eyes collided with hers. It was Charlotte. Alarick spoke to her."Charlotte. You made it."Charlotte followed Cillian's lead and stood up. She gave a worried smile. "When uncle Cillian called me to come over immediately, I had no idea that it would be under the
Alarick decided to head over to the police station before going back to work. If there was a mole in the station then that meant someone might also be watching him. He didn't want anyone to know that his family was now out of harm's way so he had to play it cool.He arrived at the station almost an hour later and walked into the building. Alarick went straight to Maurice who he saw staring intently at a file on his desk. Alarick took a seat and Maurice looked up from his work to face him, surprised. "Any new leads?" Alarick asked."You were just here some hours ago Alarick. Nothing's changed as of yet. We haven't found anyone…"Maurice leaned in closer and whispered."...or found the mole yet."Alarick frowned. He was hoping that something would have come up by now. He started to speak."What about the security cameras on the road? They could have caught something.""The road that was taken when the attack hit had no cameras. The prison was in a far off no-touch zone. Most people don
The car arrived in front of the restaurant Le Bernardin. A valet opened the car door for Scarlett while Alarick came down on his own. Alarick started to walk into the building when Scarlett wrapped her arms around his. He froze for a second, shocked that she would show this much affection in public to someone who wasn't her husband. Alarick played the part though. He needed something from her and he was sure to get it. Scarlett smirked immediately as they crossed the threshold into one of the most exclusive and elusive restaurants in the city.Although the place was popular, there was little to no information about it. Only the elite knew what went in behind those doors. The mystery was what made it appealing to the 1 percent with deep pockets and Scarlett knew this. She had been here once before and she was impressed. Alarick was already doing something right. She spoke."You brought me to one of the most expensive restaurants for lunch? You must really adore me."Alarick chuckled a
Alarick checked the time on his watch. He contemplated going to work or going home. His decision was to go to work. Alarick had already missed a boatload of things and although the people at the company were taking good care of everything, he didn't want to be a half baked CEO. Alarick headed straight to the office once his mind was made up and informed Vivian he was returning. He parked in the garage himself and went into the building. As he reached the lobby, Vivian walked up to him. Alarick walked in front towards the office while Vivian was a step behind him."Welcome back sir.""Thank you Vivian. What's on my itinerary for the rest of the day?" Alarick asked after responding to her greeting. Vivian scrolled through the device I'm her hands."Since I didn't know if you would come back or not, I cleared out your schedule for today. Do you want me to bring anything up for you?"They stepped into the elevator and ascended up the company building. "Call the board back. We still hav
