Alarick had a charity event to attend later that evening. It was one of the foundations that his father had supported for years so he had to be present at the occasion as the new CEO of the King’s empire. He hadn’t known that the Blythes were invited until he got there. Brianna hadn’t come but he could see the Blythe brothers and their mother socializing among the other guests. The news of them selling the company to him hadn’t been officially announced so for tonight, they could pretend to still be one of the wealthy families present here today when they were really penniless.Alarick avoided them throughout the night to avoid complications. He knew how cunning they could be and they might try to make him offer more assistance to them because he was in public and was expected to behave a certain way. After socializing for a bit, he went to one of the empty balconies to drink away from the crowd. Most of the people present didn’t really care about the charity, they were just here to f
The driver jumped off Brianna as he heard Alarick’s voice ring through his ears. He knew what he had done was wrong but it was Brianna who seduced him and told him that nothing was going on between her and Alarick. Brianna had assured him that they wouldn’t be caught and nothing would go wrong, and he stupidly believed her. He didn’t know that she had planned to eventually let Alarick catch them after using him to her heart’s content. Brianna sat up in bed, her breasts spilling out and smiled at Alarick while her plaything wished the ground would swallow him.“What does it look like? I’m having some fun.” She replied to Alarick’s question.Alarick seethed. She was acting like she did nothing wrong. He turned to the driver.“You’re fired. Get out.”“Sir…”“Don’t say a word or I will make sure you end up in a jail cell. Be happy that you’re only losing your job.” Alarick snapped at him as he tried to beg.The driver picked his clothes up from off the floor and ran out of the room leavin
The next day, Alarick arrived at the Blythes company that was now his. The staff had been gathered in the conference room while he addressed them.“As you all know, the company’s management has changed. The Blythe family will no longer be in charge. I’m still undecided if I should leave this company as a separate entity and groom it as such, or merge it with mine and operate under one body. Before that decision is made, work will continue however. I will work closely with your board of directors to ensure the company is restored to it’s former glory. While doing so, I will also be weeding out any one that isn’t useful to the progress of the company. To those committing one crime or the other like fraud or forgery just because you aren’t been supervised properly, I advice you to desist from such practices because they will land you in jail. More information will be relayed to you as the week goes on. Employee reevaluation ill also commence this week, most of you will be retained but th
CHAPTER 17As Bruce was taking a bath in the communal showers, delighted in the fact that Alarick would probably be dead by the evening, he heard a voice behind him. “Hey.”He turned around to see the man who he gave the job to. The man they called Oso, the bear. He was one of the lieutenants of the Sinaloa Cartel. Bruce smiled. Him being here only meant that the job was done.“Is everything done?” Bruce inquired.Oso smiled at him. The plan didn’t work out but that didn’t mean that Bruce had to know. He could just take the money and move on. If Bruce ever found out and made a fuss, he could just kill him.“Si, its done. Now the payment. I believe it was 50 million you said.”Now remembering the amount he gave to them and knowing he didn’t have even up to 1 million in his name he panicked. The bar of soap in his hands fell to the ground and he struggled to pick it back up. He knew the only way out of this was to lie and he was good at it.“Yes, and as soon as I’m done, I’ll sort yo
Cillian sat at his desk in his study. He had been feeling uneasy for a while so he hadn’t left the house. He poured through an article while he had a glass of rare scotch before dinner. He didn’t drink a lot but on occasions he would have a glass. This was one of those occasions, when he was alone. No one to disturb him, no job to attend to, just some time to himself.Cillian dropped the papers. Something was wrong and he could feel it. He was restless for some reason. He stared at the door then he went back to his paper. Just then a figure came in through the door. One look and Cillian finally knew why he was uneasy all day.“Brother! I hope you missed me.” Micah said with a smile.Cillian grunted as he saw his younger brother, and took a big swig from his glass finishing the contents. He looked at the scotch bottle in the cabinet. He didn’t waste any time in going over and pouring himself another hearty glass.Micah tutted. “You only drink when you’re by yourself, at peace or frus
Alarick finished his dinner and was about to head to bed when he decided to check up on his father because he seemed really upset after leaving the dining room earlier. He walked to his bedroom door and knocked. No one answered. He knocked again and still there was no reply. Alarick chose to open the door and peep inside. He did and saw Cillian laying on the floor clutching a picture of his late mother, tears coating his eyes and cheeks. Cillian had fallen asleep crying over the fact that he couldn’t do anything to save her. Seeing Micah had made him remember his past and it hurt too much. He blamed himself and could do nothing now but to drown his sorrows in alcohol. A bottle of vodka laid beside him discarded on the floor half drunk, another empty bottle beside it. Alarick sighed and stepped into the room. He crouched down to his sleeping father’s body and could smell the alcohol from his opened mouth. He lifted Cillian off the ground and rested him on his bed. Alarick picked up
Cillian, Alarick and a business associate James Burgess, were on their way to attend a business meeting that day. James wasn’t supposed to accompany them but they agreed to let him come at the last minute. Since they hadn’t been expecting anyone else to join them, they hadn’t brought a limo so he had to sit in front with the driver. The ride so far was uneventful as they were occupied with browsing through documents relating to a new investment rather than taking a look around. Even the driver was absent minded as he stared at a beautiful woman from across the street. If they had paid more attention, maybe then they would have noticed the large truck heading straight for them. The impact on Cillian’s side shook the car and caused it to skid across the ground, rubber burning on hot asphalt. Alarick hit his head on the side window which rendered him unconscious immediately. James Burges didn’t have it so good though. Due to the fact that James sat at the front seat without his seatbelt
Days went by and still the police were not able to apprehend the man that Cillian had pointed out to them. They had followed all the leads they had but had still come up empty. So now they had nothing to go on except a picture of a man who could not be found.Alarick was at his office seething after he got a call from the station. He threw his phone onto his desk. He was getting fed up with not having the man who almost killed his father behind bars. He came in to work early to get his mind off the fact that they hadn’t caught the man yet but this call just made everything worse. Why was the man so hard to find? Was he really a ghost or were the police just that incompetent? Just then his phone buzzed. It was a message from an unknown number.DAYSIDE PORT 2:00pm TODAYALEJANDRO SANCHEZ WILL BE THERE GO WITH THE POLICEAlarick looked at the phone. He didn’t know who sent him the message. If it was the police, they would have called him instead. He texted the number back. WHO IS THIS
