The zlate family sat in their opulent living room in utter silence as they began to process everything they had witnessed at Saint’s mansion.

The weight of their disbelief hung in the air, as they could not believe all that had transpired and all that they had witnessed at Saint's mansion. Just hours ago, they had laughed at Victoria’s insistence that Saint owned such a lavish estate, only to be humiliated when the undeniable truth had unfolded before their very eyes.

Lord Zlate was the first to break the silence. “I still cannot believe it,” he murmured, shaking his head from side to side. “That man… Saint… He owns that mansion? That estate looked like something out of a royal family’s treasury. I can't believe that someone like him would own a grand property like that.”

"Well you better believe it, father!" Victoria folded her arms as she replied to him.

Lady Zlate pursed her lips. “And the way we were served… the number of staff, the cuisine… Everything about that place screamed

"What did you say?""I said it was a decoy!" Drake repeated, trying to raise his voice above the whole chaos, "the fight that had happened back at the mansion was a decoy attack, just to distract us from getting here any sooner." He added while looking ahead.Saint had not realised this until now—until Drake pointed it out. The whole place coming down in shambles as more buildings were being set on fire. "Hey stop right there!" Saint yelled out to the bandits, "it's me you want, so stop destroying my clan." Saint shouted again but the men went on destroying every single building in sight. They had barely even noticed that he had showed up and was standing a few distance away from them. "I said, stop it right now!" Saint yelled out and was about to go after them when Drake helled him by the arm, stopping him from moving any further. "Let me go after them, Drake!" Saint yelled out and yanked his hand away from him but before Drake could reach out to grab Saint's hand again, he had

When the tension in the air had finally cooled off a bit and Saint was the only man standing amidst the chaos, Drake approached him—with a tinge of doubt. "S—saint?" He called out, moving towards him. "Where the hell is Uncle Magnus and Gerald, how could they have let this happen while I was gone!!" Saint screamed above his lungs ."Saint, you have to calm down." Drake let out, trying to calm him down but Saint was not having any of it. He was pissed at the fact that Gerald and his uncle had scampered away like chickens. Even if they were not able to put up a fight against these bandits, they should have sent the warriors to the battle front to at least protect the people. A lot of his subjects had lost their lives while trying to get away from these bandits and it would take almost forever to completely bury them all. "I said where the hell is Uncle Magnus and Gerald?!" Saint yelled out again, turning to face Drake for the first time since he came up beside him. "I....I have no

The meeting held with the Council of elders and every other person present was the shortest meeting that had ever been held in history. Saint was devastated by all that had happened and could barely speak. Disappointment was an understatement to what he felt—and he knew that he wouldn't recover from this magnitude of grief for a long while. As soon as everyone had been dismissed from the meeting, Saint lingered in his chair a while longer. The bone of contention at the meeting was to discuss how and in what way the dead bodies of his subjects would be buried. It was a disaster to have this amount of people buried in just one day. As a form of punishment, Saint had asked that Gerald be among the servants who would dig the ground for the bodies to buried in. He could not met out the same punishment to lord Magnus majorly due to his age. Gerald had been handed the greater portion of ground to dig. Gerald pleaded with Saint that his punishment be reduced as he could not bury that muc

On the day the burial was to take place, Saint could not bring himself to attend. That morning had been the weakest he had ever been. Getting out of bed was a struggle for him. When he had awaken, he laid in bed with his eyes fixated on the ceiling for more than half a hour—his body limp. Despite the persistent knocking on the door, he didn't move from the initial position. And even when Lord Magnus' beckoning from the other end of the door clouded his thoughts for a moment, it didn't cause him to move. "Saint. I know that you can hear me, you might probably not be listening to me but I know that you can hear my voice from out here." Lord Magnus' voice resounded from the other end of the door. "We have been able to bury all the bodies, Saint. I'm sorry that things had to turn out this way.."There hadn't been any response. Lord Magnus, fully in the consciousness that the chances of Saint recovering from this and the things going back to his they been were very slim. "I'm truly so

A long silence ensued, and Saint's body went limp, his bulged eyes almost popping out of its sockets. But there wasn't a look of shock on his face and instead, his disbelief metamorphosed into anger. Obviously, he had not believed what Gerald had just said as it was obvious that he was saying all of this to act as a distraction for him. He couldn't believe the guts Gerald had to spew such nonsense from his mouth. "I don't care if this a joke to you or not..." Saint began, after he had found his words, "take your words back!" He ordered him, his whole body trembling with rage as if he had been set on fire. "I'm sorry, your majesty, but I cannot take back my words. It's true and I can prove that she's the one behind the killings." Gerald said, his gaze falling back onto the floor, his body shivering from all over. "You...." Saint bellowed and raised his curled his fist into the air. He stopped himself quickly before he landed the hit. "You dirty hater, take that back now!" Saint y

The air around Saint's mouth and nostrils grew hotter as he marched all the way on foot to the Zlate's villa, not caring about the distance he had to cover. Drake kept yelling at him to stop but Saint didn't listen and kept on marching further, making Drake to regret why he ever went after him. It was a bad idea because Drake could not keep up with Saint's pace. "Saint, please hold on now!" Drake let out in a raspy breath, hoping that Saint would slow down any time soon, but it was far from that. "Victoria!!" Saint kept yelling as he neared the Zlate villa, "Victoria get out here!" He yelled again. Drake could not help but wonder if Saint was losing his sanity as he drew closer to the villa, how was it possible that Victoria—if she was in, would hear him all the way from out here. Saint barged into the villa, not caring if he was welcomed or not. "Oh good heavens. Saint, thanks goodness that you're here." Lady Erica cried out as soon as she set her eyes on Saint. "Please come t

"Stay away from that woman, Saint. That's not Victoria!!" Drake warned him but Saint's thoughts had been clouded, preventing him from hearing anything asides Victoria's voice. He tried pulling her away from him but he felt weak. This woman didn't look a bit or sounded like Victoria but she smelt like her and felt like her when Saint's palm grazed her skin. "Saint, listen to me and step away from that woman, she isn't Victoria." Drake continued to warn him. Victoria let out a genuine smile without looking at Drake and instead, she pulled Saint closer to herself and kissed him on the cheek. "I know that you missed me, didn't you, hun?" She said and smacked her lips seductively at him Before moving on to caress his beard slightly. Saint was too stunned to speak and just kept on staring at her. He forced himself back to reality and peeled Victoria's arm off him even though what he wanted to do was to circle his hands around her waist and bridge the gap between them. "Victoria, I nee

His knees grew so weak under him that they could barely hold up his weight. He struggled to stand and even when his knees started to wobbel, he held onto the wall for support but knew that he would not be able to stay for that long. Victoria was not done talking, she was still yapping away with a rush of excitement at how she managed to fool everyone and make them think that they were still being tormented by another enemy when all along, it had been her who was responsible. Before Drake could sense what was happening, Saint had already collapsed to his knees. "Why?" He kept on crying as his head fell onto the floor, "why did it have to be you, Victoria? Why not someone else?" He cried out. "And what the fuck is that supposed to mean? You think I'm not a worthy opponent, don't you, Saint? Well why don't you get up and let me show you what exactly I'm capable of doing!" She said angrily as she rushed towards him and pulled him by the collar and was about to drag him up to his feet

She tilted her head slightly as she observed Saint, her eyes gleaming with malice.“You finally came,” she said smoothly, stepping forward. “I was beginning to think you had abandoned them.”Saint ignored her taunt, his gaze locked onto Victoria. Her chest rose and fell faintly—she was alive, but barely. His fists clenched at his sides.“Let them go, Vic.” His voice was calm but laced with deadly intent. “This ends now.”Vic chuckled. “Oh, Saint. You always think you can swoop in like a hero and fix everything. But you don’t understand… I’ve already won.”"Drop the dagger, Vic...." Saint ordered again, ignoring what she had said, "don't make this any harder than it is." He added. "But it already is. Someone should offer him a chair already, the show is just about to start." She said and erupted into another round of laughter. Saint was about to launch himself

He had seen the disappointment in his face when he told him that he couldn't afford to take him any farther than they had already come, and it was far too dangerous for Sayid to continue the journey with him. It was getting darker by every passing minute and Saint knew that he had to get on with his journey quickly. For some reason unknown to the others, Saint could sense that Vic was close by and these creatures that he had just battled with had been a decoy to distract them from the actual mission they had embarked on. He continued cutting down more branches as he walked. The sensation around him grew, signalling to him that he was already closer to Vic than he thought. He tightened his grip on the hilt of the sword and intensified the effort he used in cutting down more of the trees, clearing his path. The c

"I'm not moving an inch from here until I see Saint!" Gerald said stubbornly, adjusting his legs more comfortable on the ground but making sure that his legs didn't touch the creature. His eyes were still fixated on the creature. He had still not given up in trying to make out what it was and where they had come from. "Well then, suit yourself." Sayid said and started walking away. The stench that came from him was foul and immediately made the air unbearable to breathe. "Where are you going to, Sayid? We can't just leave Saint here all by himself!" Gerald said, his voice trembling with fear. "He's fine, you chicken heart, he just wants to set some things out for himself." Sayid said. He suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned to face both men. He had noticed that something wasn't right. "Where are all the soldiers?!" He asked. "Most of them are dead, I think the rest ran away!" Steward replied. "Including my men?!" Sayid asked angrily. "Every single one of them...""How pat

"Spare my life, I beg of you!" Gerald clasped his palms in a form of a plea and raised it above his head. He hoped in his heart that the creature understood what he was saying. Max wiped the perspiration off his forehead with his sleeve and dusted his hands. He was satisfied with how deep the hole was even though a pretty large part of it had not been his effort. "Come on, we need to bury him quickly before someone comes." Max said aloud. They had carried Max's lifeless body to an area where nobody would find it, not even Vic herself, except by some means of magic, but even if she would have, they would have all been long gone. "Certainly." The second guard replied and started breaking the rocks nearby that they were going to use in burying Drake. The plan was to level the spot they would bury Drake as much as possible and fill the place up with rocks. If anyone has plans of digging the place up, they would get a second thought—who buried people with rocks in than age. "It's all done." The second hairs let out, panting heavily. Max made sure to take a good look at Drake oneast time to make sure that he was actually dead. 'what if he wasn't?!' his thoug

It was at that point that Saint realised where they were. Why hadn't he sensed that something was wrong on time, it seemed as though a cloak had been removed from his eyes. "No one should step down from the car!" Saint ordered when the car had been brought to a halt. "Oh you don't need to tell me that twice. I already know what's going on....if you had just listened to me earlier..." Gerald grumbled and folded his hands. Despite the eerie environment that they were in, he felt no single iota of fear and instead disappointment toward Saint for not believing him earlier on. "I'm going to go check it out." Saint said and without giving them any chance to process their thoughts, he was already out of the car. Gerald's lips parted slightly in bewilderment. He wanted to say something but then hesitated and kept silent. "Aren't you coming, Gerald, I'm going with him." Sayid said, cutting through Gerald's line of thoughts. "Are you out of your damn mind?!" Gerald exclaimed. Sayid chuck

Lord Magnus had offered to accompany them on the journey, but Saint had insisted that he stayed back so he wouldn't risk getting killed. Lord Magnus had tried to convince Saint that his conscience wouldn't let him stay back and he had to be by Saint's side, but Saint still insisted that he had to stay back with the clan. "Are you sure of where we heading to, Saint?" Gerald asked with confused brows as he noticed that they had been turning around in circles and it seemed like the fifth time they had passed through this particular route. Saint who had been struggling to keep back his confusion finally let out, "this has to be the route, it has to be here. Unless, it's either of two things; Vic is leading us into a trap or this isn't the route that leads to where she has asked that I come to get Drake and Victoria." "We have to turn back around, Saint.
