"Sai...Saint, what happened to you, why are you covered in blood?!" Saint's uncle yelled out the moment he saw Saint walk through the gates.

He had been outside, taking a stroll and also waiting on Saint's return. He was worried that Saint was leaving the territory without any guard around him, he knew that Saint could protect himself but he couldn't help the feeling that Saint was in twice the danger than he had been when he was the leader of the clan.

Now that it was discovered that he was still alive, other clans who hated his guts and didn't care to hide would definitely come after Saint and try to get rid of him for real this time.

"There is no need to fret, uncle." Saint let out when his uncle had trotted to where he was and was now inspecting him all over.

"No need to fret? You've got blood all over you...." His uncle said in a near yell. He went in for his clothes and started tearing at it; when he had Inspected Saint and found no injury on him, he knew he needed to rip off his clothes to see where the source of the blood was from.

"What are you trying to do, Uncle?" Saint protested, stepping back from him and holding onto his clothes tightly.

"Don't struggle, Saint, I need to see where you're injured so I can treat the wound. I told you not to go out alone, Saint. They now know your identity and I knew that they were going to come after you!" His uncle said at once, while still trying to rip off Saint's clothes.

Saint raised an eyebrow at what his uncle had just said.

'They?' how had his uncle knew who he had gotten into a fight with? Did he know that it was Fredrick who had attacked him?

"Relax, uncle, I'm not injured anywhere, in fact I'm totally fine." Saint replied calmly and gently peeled his uncle's hands away from him.

He had soiled his hands with the blood on Saint's body but it didn't matter to him; all he saw at that moment was his dying nephew that needed urgent medical help.

"If you're not injured, then how do you the blood that you're covered in?!" His uncle asked in a devastated tone. He always hated the fact that hi nephew had to be this string headed even in the face of death.

"Just stop arguing and let me help you, okay, Saint?" His uncle let out in a state of panic. "Guards, guards, come over here now!" He screamed out at the top of his lungs and almost immediately, guards from every corner came running over to them.

"I'm fine, uncle, the blood on me is not mine." Saint said, still keeping his eyes on his uncle before he looked up to see the multitude of guards that had now surrounded them.

Saint was slightly surprised at their number, yet that was not the total number of men that guarded the clan.

"Listen to me, you all...." Saint started, wiping the blood off of his face.

"I'm fine and I do not need any help, you all can return to your stations." Saint instructed but he could sense their hesitation.

Even at just the click of the Clan's leader fingers, all his orders would have been carried out, but seeing him drenched in his own blood from his head all the way to the sole of his feet made them hesitate on his command for a second.

"Saint, you can't tell them off, they need to carry yo to the hospital." His uncle protested.

"First of, uncle, I'm on my two feet and I just walked in here, secondly, if I neeed to be carried, I wouldn't need this much people and third, 'i'm fine' uncle!" Saint made sure to spell it out to him.

"Yes I got attacked but I finished them off....and all on my own. I didn't get hurt, if you want to confirm that, I'll let you check them out later but now, I need to lay my head, because I just got divorced by my wife." Saint said with a broken voice.

He threw the keys of his car to one of the guards before he walked past them.

"My car is parked outside and also help me clean it up because I've got blood stains in there." Saint said while he continued walking.

His uncle let him walk away from him without any further argument, Saint said he wasn't hurt but the state of his appearance said otherwise.

"His wife..." His uncle said under his breath, "Divorced?" His brows contorted in a frown as he tried to make out what Saint and just told him.

Saint had been married and now was divorced?

He quickly dismissed the guards and started trailing behind Saint.

***********

Saint peeled his clothes from his body before hopping into the bathroom. He stood under the shower for what seemed like forever as the water washed the blood away from his blood.

The stench of blood mixed with sweat that had once filled the room had disappeared the moment he got of the bathroom.

He stood stark naked in front of the life sized mirror in his chambers—inspecting the deep wounds and cut all over his body.

He let out a deep sigh as he placed his hands over the open cut that was below his chest.

The stinging sensation that coursed through his body when he stuck his finger into the open wound was nothing compared to the pain that thumped inside his heart.

He bent his face down to inspect his body rather than staring at it from the reflection in the mirror.

A tear escaped the corner of his eye, falling onto his stomach. Suddenly, he felt a strange light beginning to radiate from the section his tear had fallen on and soon, the whole room was soaked with the light.

The following days that unravelled were like boxes of torment that had been stacked up so high, they had started falling over one another. Victoria had run out of tissues and she had used more than the tears that had been running out from her eyes for days now. She sat on the edge of the bed, staring blankly at the ornate patterns on the wall. Jack’s house was nothing short of a mansion, with its marble floors, towering ceilings, and endless hallways, but it felt empty. Cold. It wasn’t her home, and no matter how much Jack tried to make her comfortable, she couldn’t bring herself to feel at ease. Jack had been patient at first, understanding even, but as days turned into weeks, the tension between them grew. She had refused to touch him, she refused to let him into her heart or her thoughts. The man she was married to now was a stranger—a choice forced upon her by her family. And each day she spent in this house, surrounded by its suffocating air, felt like a betrayal to herself.

Saint's piecing eyes continued to bore into his soul, then he looked up at Victoria's dishevelled form walking toward him. His pupils dilated instantly. "Are you okay, dear?" He asked her, "Did they hurt you?" Saint's asked again, running his eyes all over her to make sure that she was alright. "They hurt me a bit but I'm okay now." The room was in a hot mess but surprisingly, there was laundry neatly folded and kept on the bed. Saint struggled to get up to his feet but realised that he could not move his limbs. Much to his amazement, neither his legs nor hands were bound, yet he could not even raise a finger—only turning his head from side to side in agony. His jaw clenched as he exhaled sharply, shaking his head. The thoughts of him destroying the kin clan and what his uncle had warned him concerning it kept flowing back into his head. Before he could entertain the thought any further, his senses suddenly sharpened. Something was off. He halted mid-step, his ears picking up the slightest shuffle of movement behind him. Too late.
